Genevieve A. Smith, age 86, passed away May 7, 2011.

Survived by two loving children Bernard S. Smith (former Mayor of Mandeville)
and Carolyn Smith, sister Mercedes Dutton, and preceded in death by her husband
Bernard A. Smith (a descendent of the early settlers of Mandeville in 1775).

Genevieve came to Mandeville in 1943 after marrying her husband at age 18 and
remembered when Mandeville had dirt roads and wild roaming cattle. She is
remembered for her being a wonderful and dedicated mother, her generosity,
athleticism, as well as her broad interest in the arts, geography, decorating
acumen, cooking, mathematics and astronomy.

Private graveside services were held at Mandeville Mausoleum.
