Funeral services will be held Monday, October 11, 2010, at the First Pentecostal 
Church of Franklin at 12:00 PM for Mrs. Shirley Brown Smith, 61, a native of 
Oakdale and a resident of Franklin, who passed away at 11:42 PM Thursday, 
October 7, 2010, at her home.

Burial will be held in Resthaven Cemetery in Oakdale on Monday at 5:00 PM. 
Pastor Greg Coy and Bishop B. D. Purifoy will officiate the services.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband of 42 years, Mike Smith of Franklin; two 
daughters, Krista Smith of New Iberia and Marlene Touchet of Jennings; two 
brothers, Tommy Dyre and Steve Dyre; three sisters, Judy Paul, Carol Crowder, 
and Donna Barnaby; six grandchildren, Austin Hodges and Lamryn Hodges, both of 
Baton Rouge, Kennedy, Kendal, and Kenzie Touchet, and Josie Mikal, all of 
Jennings.

She was preceded in death by one son, Michael Shane Smith; and by her parents, 
Millard Brown and Marybelle Humphries Brown.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday, October 11, at the First 
Pentecostal Church from 10:00 AM until service time.
