State of Louisiana, Parish of East Feliciana, Probate Court No. 1501

Alexander McRae in the matter of the sucession of Daniel McRae.

In this case ten days notice having been given according to law & no

opposition being made and petitioner having taken the oath required by 

law, It is ordered and adjudged and decreed that he be appointed 

Administrator of the Estate of Dan'l McRae dec'd.

# 228 - Petition

Sucession of Dan'l McRae

To the Honorable the Judge of the Seventh Judicial District of the State of

Louisiana, having jurisdiction in and for the Parish of East Feliciana.

The pet. of A.H. McRae resident of the Parish of Livingston of the State of

Louisiana Administrator of the Sucession of Daniel McRae dec'd Respectfully

shows that he files here with his act as administrator showing that the costs

& privileges claims have taken the entire sucession.  That a number of the

adjudications he has been unable to realize on account of the failure of the

parties ( & ?) the running of the negroes that the funds realized have not

been sufficient to pay said privileges claims.  That he filed in the  (blank)

an act of his administration but that some of the vouchers & a large portion

of the Record has been lost or mislaid, that the cause has been continued from

time to time & they cannot be found, he therefore files a new act.

Wherefore he prays that D.C. Hardie be appointed Atty. of absent heirs, that

the filing of this act be duly published & after due & legal proceedings had

in the premises, that the same be homologated & made the judgement of the

Court that his Bond be cancelled & he discharged from his administration for

cost & general relief in the premises.

State of Louisiana, Parish of East Feliciana, Probate Court No. 1621

A.H. McRae in the matter of the sucession of Daniel McRae dec'd.

Ordered that the prayer of petitioner be granted and that a sale of all

property included in the Inventory of the sucession of Daniel McRae dec'd with

the exception of the 500 arpent tract of land and of the cotton -- In selling

the negroes the one named Mayor inventoried as living in Kentucky and the

other named Martha inventoried as living in Arkansas, it is ordered that only

the interest of the sucession in these two last named negroes shall be sold

without any guarantee whatever on the part of the Estate.  It is also ordered

that the sale be made at the last residence of the deceased in the parish

aforesaid, the usual and legal advertisement being made. and that the land and

negroes be sold on a credit of one two and three years and that the personal

property be sold on a credit of one year.
