ROBERT REDELLE DARDEN

   Robert Redelle Darden, formerly of Franklin, died at his home, 1718 Market 
Street, Jacksonville, Fla., March 11, 1928.  His death was caused by pneumonia 
after an illness of only four days, this being the third attack of pneumonia 
he had suffered.

   He was born August 10, 1890, and was the son of the late Thomas Darden and 
Mrs. Laura Darden who survives him.  On August 25, 1914, he was married to 
Miss Maggie Sue Harcum.

   For three years he was employed by the Purity Ice Cream Co. in Petersburg 
after which he went to Jacksonville, Fla., where he held a responsible 
position with the Southern Dairies Corporation for eight years.  He was a 
devoted son, husband and father.

   Funeral services were conducted from his mother’s home near Franklin by his 
Pastor, Rev. Kenneth E. Burke, and the body was interred in the family section 
at Sycamore Baptist Church cemetery.  The body bearers were Charlie, Bennie 
and Rochelle Darden, Leroy Harcum, Alfred Cobb, E.L. Vaughan and Guy Cross.

   Mr. Darden is survived by his widow; one son William Robert; one daughter, 
Doris Marion; his mother, Mrs. Laura Darden; two sisters, Mrs. I.Q. Wiggins 
and Mrs. Vernard Cotton; three brothers, Hunter and Theon Darden of Franklin 
and J.T. Darden of Richmond.
