JOSEPH L. NELMS

   Suffolk, Nov. 24 - Joseph L. Nelms, 58, died Friday at his home near Windsor, 
after a long illness. He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. R.L. Pierce, of 
Waynesboro, N.C.; Mrs. C.W. Brough and Misses Elma and Marie Nelms, of Hopewell; 
two sons, James Leroy Nelms, of Newport News, and W.C. Nelms of Windsor, with 
whom the deceased had made his home; two sisters, Mrs. O.L. Baker, of Suffolk, 
and Mrs. J.L. Johnson, Sr., of Windsor; a brother, S.W. Nelms, of Windsor; 
several grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

   Funeral services will be held at the grave in the family cemetery, near 
Windsor, Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. Active pallbearers will be R.L. Eley, 
Tommie Jones, Jack Carr, B.C. Eley, S.E. Roberts, Richard Eley, Sidney McClenny, 
W. B. Batten.
