Aldous, Lynis
Lynis Aldous 1956 ~ 2005 Although we all feel a great deal of sorrow and
heartache now that Lynis is gone, we shall never forget what a loving, caring,
gifted, and silly man he truly was. Lynis Shosted Aldous was born February 7,
1956 to Tura Melvin Aldous and Maxine Shosted in Salt Lake City, Utah. He
married Lori Scoville on June 10, 1977. Lynis attended Olympus High School,
where he was President of the Graphics Design department. He also acted in
school plays and filmed a variety of short films with his closest friends. He
graduated in 1974. For the past 12 years, he worked for Wasatch Photographic.
Aside from the adoration he had for his two sons, Ian and Grant, Lynis loved
photography. He spent much of his free time either taking pictures or toying
around with his photos on the computer, creating images that would vary from
humorous to beautiful to downright bizarre. Lynis is survived by his loving
wife Lori, sons Ian and Grant (Ali), parents Tura Melvin and Maxine,
mother-in-law Lois, brother T. Melvin Jr. (Jean), brother-in-law Rod, good
friends Monty, Grant, and Roland, grandchild Gabriel, and many nieces and
nephews, as well as numerous other friends and relatives. Funeral services
will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 22 at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E.
South Temple. Viewing will be held at the same location Friday, January 21
from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the services. Interment will be at the
Salt Lake City Cemetery. We can all find comfort in knowing that the love that
Lynis had for his family and friends will remain in our hearts long after his
passing.

Colosimo, Gabriel Angelo
Gabriel Angelo Colosimo "Gale" 1926 ~ 2005 Our husband, father, brother,
grandfather (papa), sausage maker and accordion player extraordinaire, Gabriel
Angelo passed away on Monday, January 17, 2005 from a bad heart. It is ironic
that his physical one failed him when his spiritual one was so big, strong and
loving. He will be greatly missed by many and he leaves a huge hole and an
empty seat at the Colosimo family table. The world is now minus one great
accordion player and sausage maker. Gale was born September 24, 1926 in Magna,
Utah in the apartment above the Rome Grocery, to his parents, Ralph and Rose
Colosimo, who were the owners and proprietors of the store. It was a harbinger
of his future work. Dad grew up in Magna, learned to play the accordion,
played fullback for the Cyprus Pirates where he was known as "Guts," graduated
in 1944 and went into the military. Upon Gale completing basic training the
Germans decided to surrender, fearing his transfer overseas. He returned to
his hometown and one day at Sunday Mass he saw the most beautiful woman he had
ever seen and decided he was going to marry her - Ida Concettina (Connie)
Disera. He married Connie on October 22, 1951 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in
Magna. Gale wanted six children and Connie wanted two, so they compromised and
had eight. He is survived by Connie, the love of his life, and his eight
children, the joys of his life, Roseanne Webber (Jerry), Nancy Gibbs (Dan),
John (Kathie), Galey (Beth), Paul (Sara), Mary Markosian (Jim), Larry (Jean),
Joe all of Salt Lake City. He also leaves behind his brother and partner,
Ernie and two sisters, Jean Guido and Rosemarie Feraco. Then there are his 20
grandchildren, the lights of his life Danny, Matthew, Michael, Justin, Robbie,
Christopher, Jamie, Gianna, Lucy, Julia, Elizabeth, Nicholas, Dominic, Adam,
Samuel, Gabriel, Andrew, Madeline, Gina, and Taitlynn (Tannen). Good-bye Papa,
We love you! Gale and Ernie were partners together for 58 years in the grocery
business at Colosimo's Standard Market. It was the hub of their families'
lives and a source of great joy, pride and humor. His children had the
pleasure of learning many life's lessons while apprenticing at his side. Gale
was a great innovator and tinkerer in the butcher shop. He developed and
created many sausage recipes that became the lifeblood of the Market. Gale and
Ernie developed and patented a sausage making machine called the "Colosimo's
Press." His greatest joy this past year was to see his boys open a Colosimo's
store in Sandy featuring all of his sausage products. Dad was a firm believer
in the power of prayer. His prayers for the world and for his family will be
greatly missed. His favorite prayer was the rosary and he prayed it daily if
not hourly. He would greatly rejoice if you would join his family at a vigil
service and the praying of the rosary on Thursday, January 20th at 8:00 p.m.
at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Magna (2840 South 9000 West).
Friends may call between 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on
Friday, January 21st at 10:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 331 East
South Temple. Friends may call between 9:00 and 9:45. Interment will be at
Mount Cavalry Cemetery The family greatly appreciates the care given by both
Dr. Thomas Calame and Dr. John Luras. Donations in memory of Gale can be sent
to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church building fund in Magna, Utah. Many
people live their lives aspiring to greatness, Gale with his compassionate
mindset and gentle heart lived his life more profoundly by aspiring to
goodness.

sweetheart from age 13, Hazel Elaine Blood, daughter of Governor and Mrs.
Henry H. Blood. After their marriage in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, they were
sealed in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints. Following marriage, David and Hazel enjoyed life in New York City and
the surrounding area. They then returned to Salt Lake City, where he joined
ZCMI as a merchandise manager. Later, taking an opportunity to own a women's
retail shop, David and Hazel moved to Salem, Oregon. In 1938, they returned to
Salt Lake City where he became a partner and Executive Vice President of Keith
O'Brien. During World War II, he was commissioned in the United States Navy,
and after training in Massachusetts served in San Francisco in distribution
posts and Manila, Philippines, operating and rebuilding the country's railway
system. Following the war, David resumed his position with Keith O'Brien,
which expanded from the initial downtown store. Later, after the Keith O'Brien
stores were sold, he managed several department store chains for the buyer. He

as president of the Salt Lake Merchants Association, director of the Salt Lake
Chamber of Commerce, and director of the National Retail Merchants
Association, New York City. David and Hazel were active in The Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints. They valued their membership in and friends of
the Parley's First Ward, where David was a High Priest. In later years, they
traveled to many family events, including grandchildren's college graduations
and marriages, sharing their joy and love with their family. Hazel passed away
suddenly on October 21, 1999. After Hazel's passing, David was blessed to stay
in his home and enjoy the company of family, good friends and great neighbors
who sustained him and marveled at his general good spirits through health
challenges. In recent years, David enjoyed staying close to long-time Salt
Lake City friends with whom he and Hazel raised their families. David, known
as Pada by his grandchildren (one of whom so named him), great grandchildren,
