To Those I Love and Those Who Love Me

When I am gone, release me, let me go

I have so many things to see and do.

You mustnt tie yourself to me in tears.

Be happy that we had these years.

I gave to you my love. You can only guess

How much you gave to me in happiness.

I thank you for the love you each have shown,

But now its time I traveled on alone.

So grieve awhile for me if grieve you must.

Then let your grief be comforted by trust.

Its only for a while that we must part,

So bless the memories within your heart.

I wont be far away, for life goes on.

So if you need me, call and I will come.

Though cant see or touch me, Ill be near,

And if you listen with your heart, youll hear

All my love around you soft and dear.

And then, when you must come this way alone,

Ill greet you with a smile and say Welcome Home

                            WILLIAM THOMAS COLEY

William Thomas W.T. Coley, 88, of San Angelo died at 12:15 a.m.
Tuesday, July 17, 2001, in a local hospital.

Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Kenneth Patrick. Burial
will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.

W.T. was born April 28, 1913, in Buckholts, Texas, to William Eugene
Coley and Sarah (Cherry) Coley. He attended school in Buckholts until
he moved to Winters. He graduated high school in Winters in 1931. W.T.
gained distinction as a student athlete in 1931 when he kicked the
winning field goal in a 3-0 victory over the rival Ballinger Bearcats.
He enrolled at Allen Military Academy after high school where he was
captain of the football and baseball teams for two years. He left
Allen for Oklahoma in 1934 to play semi-pro baseball. An unfortunate
automobile accident cut short a promising baseball career. W.T.
married Mozelle Barnhill in 1937 and this union produced two loving
daughters, Janice K. (Coley) White and Linda (Coley) Patton.

Mozelle preceded him in death. He married Delphine Francis Speer on
May 18, 1988, in Wichita Falls.

Mr. Coley began his working career as a vacuum cleaner salesman and
was very successful in this and the insurance business for many years.
His ambition to operate his own business was fulfilled in 1965 when he
opened Building and Home Maintenance Co. He spent the next 30 years
working for the people of San Angelo and the surrounding area in the
residential and commercial cleaning industry. Mr. Coleys motto was
Lets keep it clean and his philosophy was work it hard and it will be
easy; work it easy and it will be hard. This is how he lived his life,
working hard, doing his best and sharing the fruits of his labor with
others. Mr. Coley employed many people during his years in business
and his heart as well as his office door was always open to them. He
made friends easily because he loved people and enjoyed spending time
with them. In his later years he enjoyed frequent trips to the Texas
Hill Country for wildflower viewing. He was a steadfast fan of the
Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. He followed both teams faithfully.
However, his true passion was his family. When asked to name his most
satisfying accomplishments, he always mentioned them first. Family and
friends alike will miss him. He was a member of the First Baptist
   Church of San Angelo.

He is survived by his wife, Delphine Coley; his children, Janice White
and her husband, Jackie, as well as Linda Patton and her husband,
Darrell, of San Angelo. Also surviving are sisters, Elizabeth Ueckert
of Ballinger, Doris Goode of Big Spring, as well as Elaine Underwood
and her husband, L.C., of Big Spring. A stepson, George Beauchamp and
his wife, Rena, of Wichita Falls survive him also. Also surviving him

Antonio, Jody Payne and husband, Don, Jackie Lynn Lehr and husband,

   Evans  and  Michelle Knotts of Amarillo and Brad Beauchamp of Lubbock;
as well as many nieces, nephews and loving friends also survive.

Though you cant see or touch me, Ill be near,

And if you listen with your heart, youll hear

All my love around you soft and dear.

And then, when you must come this way alone,

Ill greet you with a smile and say Welcome Home Author unknown
