The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He restoreth my soul,
He leadth me in the paths of righteousness for His names' sake.
Yea, though I walk through the Valley of the Shadow of Death, I
will fear no evil: for Thou art with me, Thy rod and Thy staff,
     they comfort me.
     Thou  preparest  a table before me in the presence of Mine enemies;
Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all of the days of my
life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
     Amen.

Mertzon, Christoval and Eldorado areas. He permanently moved with
his family to San Angelo in 1919, the year of his father's death
     from tuberculosis.
He attended high school in San Angelo, working after school at the
Coca-Cola Bottling plant, which also housed a milk-bottling and
ice-cream plant. Graduating from SAHS in 1921, he entered Abilene
     Christian College and studied journalism.
After two years, he returned to San Angelo as manager of the milk
plant. After a year and a half, he left to begin his career in
     insurance.
In 1926, he joined the Horton & Chapman Insurance Firm, which later
     became Horton & Yaggy Insurance.
He married Fanelle Myers on Aug. 20, 1932, the year he became a
partner in the firm of Horton, Yaggy & Kenley.
In addition to focusing on his business, he was vitally interested
in the growth of San Angelo. His civic involvement was varied. He
had been a member of the Lions Club since 1925, and at the time of
his death was the oldest and longest tenured member of the Downtown
Lions Club. He also was one of the first organizers of the Junior
Chamber of Commerce in the 1930s.
In 1942 he was appointed to the Board of City Development and
subsequently served several terms as a board member and then served
as its president in 1961. He was involved in the development of
numerous West Texas highway projects, serving as president of both
the Highway 67 and Highway 87 Associations. He was subsequently
honored with the Road Hand Award given by the chairman of the Texas
Highway Commission for his nearly 40 years of devotion to Texas
     highways.
Mr. Kenley, along with Elsie Gayer and C.A. Duncan, was one of the
founders of Memorials Hospital, which began as a tuberculosis
hospital, and later became Baptist Memorials. He was instrumental
in bringing the Goodyear Tire Test Station to San Angelo and was
one of the organizers and owners of the San Angelo Colts baseball
team, which later became a farm team for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
He served as president of West Texas Packing Co. and Continental
Fidelity Life Insurance Co. He helped start Texas Tank Car Works,
served as secretary-treasurer of San Angelo Abstract, and was a
director of both Central National Bank and San Angelo Electric
     Service Co.
In addition to his work and civic service, his favorite pastimes
were growing vegetables and raising livestock on his farm at
Christoval, and enjoying the company of his friends of that town,
especially the members of the Ben Keyes Bible Class of the
Christoval United Methodist Church. He ``went to the farm'' every
day as long as his health allowed.
