Robert Atkins

Robert Atkins, 78, of Amarillo died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2006.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors
Pioneer Chapel, 2615 Paramount Blvd., with Bob Thomas, chaplain of Odyssey
Health Care, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens.

Mr. Atkins was born June 27, 1928, in Dickens. He married Lucille Adams in
1947 in Dickens. They moved to Amarillo in 1966 from Lubbock. He was a truck
driver for more than 40 years before becoming the owner and operator of 4-Way
store in Fourway from 1990 to 2001.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille Atkins; three sons, James Atkins and wife
Thresa of Amarillo, Larry Atkins and wife Carol of Tulsa, Okla., and Terry
Atkins and wife Denise of Dumas; two daughters, Sue Robinson and husband Larry
and Brenda Ivey, all of Amarillo; and a sister, Delpha Day and husband Pete of
Roanoke.

Patsy J. "Pat" Baker

Patsy J. "Pat" Baker, 66, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Llano Cemetery Mausoleum with the Rev.
Dale Moreland officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery East by Cox-
LaGrone Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.

Mrs. Baker was born March 11, 1940, in San Angelo, was raised there and
graduated from San Angelo High School. She moved to Amarillo from Brownwood in
1997. She had worked at Henry D's Restaurant at United since 1999. She was a
Baptist.

The family wishes to express its deepest gratitude to all the staff at BSA
Hospice and all of Patsy's co-workers and customers at Henry D's.

Survivors include two daughters, Renee Fowler and husband Robert and LeeAnn
Hanks, all of Amarillo; two sons, Dean Rutland and wife Barbara of Sonora and
Jackie Baker of Milwaukee; her mother, Madge Hargrove of Amarillo; wa sister,
DeAun Moser of Amarillo; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Jeff Barclay

Jeff Barclay, 29, formerly of Amarillo, died Monday, Nov. 13, 2006.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Central Church of Christ with Dick
Marcear officiating. Memorial services were Wednesday in the J. Edgar Hoover
Building in Washington, D.C. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Cox-LaGrone
Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.

Jeff was born Nov. 10, 1977, in Amarillo, and was raised here. He attended
Woflin Elementary school and Austin Middle School, and graduated from Tascosa
High School in 1996. While at Tascosa, he was on the wrestling team. He was
involved in Scouting since he was 9 years old, and attained the rank of Eagle
Scout in 1996. He attended Amarillo College before joining the U.S. Navy.
While in the Navy, he served on the USS Lake Champlain.

He married Dorothy Davis on Oct. 18, 2003, in Amarillo. They moved from
Amarillo to Charles Town, W.Va., in 2004. He was a network engineer for Caci
International out of Washington, D.C., officing in the J. Edgar Hoover
Building.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Charles Town; two sons, Bryndan Barclay
and Joseph Barclay; his parents, Rick and Judi Barclay of Amarillo; a sister,
Betsy Silva of Amarillo; a brother, Jon Barclay of Gulf Port, Miss.; and his
grandparents, Everett and Astor Stevens of Amarillo.

The family suggests memorials be to the Bryndan and Joseph Barclay Memorial
Fund, in care of First Bank of the Southwest, P.O. Box 32552, Amarillo, TX
79120-2552.

Florence "Flo" Williams Burns

Florence "Flo" Williams Burns, 93, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in First Presbyterian Church
Chapel. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount
Blvd.

Flo was born Aug. 22, 1913, in Villisca, Iowa. She earned an undergraduate
degree from Iowa State University and a master's degree from New York
University in 1934. While at Iowa State, she met Pat Burns, and they were
married in 1936.

Flo was a helpmate to her husband and a wonderful mother to her children, Mary
and Mike. She was active in many organizations, but felt especially close to
her sisters in PEO (chapter AN) and the Antique Club. She loved bridge and had
many special bridge friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Stevens and husband Jimmy of El Paso; a
son, Michael Frank Burns of Nacogdoches; two grandsons, Patrick Stevens and
wife Mieke of Eugene, Ore., and Mike Stevens and wife Kate Baird of Brooklyn,
N.Y.; and three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to Opportunity School, in
care of First Presbyterian Church, 1100 Harrison St., Amarillo, TX 79101.

Andrew James Candelaria

Andrew James Candelaria, 47, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006.

Mr. Candelaria was born Aug. 23, 1959, in Amarillo to Randolfo and Agueda
Agnes Candelaria. He was a baker at Snowhite Bakery and a member of Our Lady
of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Randolfo Candelaria.

Survivors include his mother, Agueda Candelaria; a daughter, Priscilla
Candelaria; a son, Steven Candelaria; five brothers, Joe Candelaria, Don
Candelaria, Felipe Candelaria, Robert Candelaria and Patricio Candelaria, all
of Amarillo; three sisters, Susie C. Vela of Bishop and Patsy Cuellar and
Margaret Candelaria, both of Amarillo.

Gilbert Mann of Amarillo died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006.

Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Trinity Baptist Church.
Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth
Avenue and Pierce Street.

Mr. Mann retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 32 years as a letter
carrier. After he retired, he was the head custodian at Trinity Baptist Church
for several years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. His first love was his
Lord, followed by his family, golf, fishing and children, especially babies.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a grandson, Chris Twing.

Survivors include two daughters, Carolene Poole and husband Kenneth and Cheryl
Hollan and husband Terry, all of Amarillo; three sons, Wayne Moore and wife
Helen, Bob Moore and wife Fay and Jim Moore and wife Glenna, all of Amarillo;
a brother, Jiggs Mann of Clarendon; 11 grandchildren; and four great-
grandchildren.

The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Cynthia Violet Bragg McLaughlin

Cynthia Violet Bragg McLaughlin, 54, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Nov. 15,
2006.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy
Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with the Rev. Tim Tam officiating.

Cindy was born March 16, 1952, in Amarillo. She was a 1970 graduate of Tascosa
High School. She married Jay A. McLaughlin on Dec. 31, 1974, in Amarillo. She
had been employed with ATMOS Energy prior to her illness. She was a homemaker
and gave generously of her love to her entire family.

Survivors include her husband, Jay; two sons, Colby of Denver and Cory of
Austin; her parents, J.W. "Dub" and Bonnie Bragg of Amarillo; two sisters,
Susan Sanders of Amarillo and Debbie Lee of Houston; three brothers, Jim Bragg
and Mark Bragg, both of Amarillo, and Bill Bragg of Lubbock; nine nieces and
nephews; three great-nieces; and a great-nephew.

The family will be at her parents' house at 4102 Troy Drive.

Alfred J. Pandolfi

Alfred J. Pandolfi, 86, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006.

Vigil services will be at 6 p.m. today in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic
Church Chapel. Memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the church with
Monsignor Joseph Tash officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home,
4100 S. Georgia St.

Mr. Pandolfi was born June 3, 1920, in Manville, R.I., to Domenico and Bridget
Pandolfi. He married Estelle Constantineau on Oct. 12, 1942, in St. John's
Catholic Church in Slattersville, R.I.

He was a World War II veteran, serving from 1942 to 1946. He was part of the
Pacific Island Campaign and the occupation force that landed in Japan. Mr.
Pandolfi was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.

He moved to Texas from Florida 17 years ago. He previously lived in upstate
New York and Rhode Island. Mr. Pandolfi farmed his entire life and was a
member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by five brothers; five sisters; and both his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Estelle G. Pandolfi; two sons, Alfred A. Pandolfi
of Fort Worth and Gerald R. Pandolfi of Amarillo; a sister, Annie Oulette of
Manville; four grandchildren, Shelly, Andrew, Ryan and Megan; and six great-
grandchildren.

Aileen Shiver

Aileen Shiver, 83, of Amarillo died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Schooler Funeral Home
Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St.

Inurnment will be in Houston National Cemetery in Houston.

Mrs. Shiver was born Sept. 28, 1923, in Vernon to Eugene and Elizabeth
Hathaway. Aileen graduated from Amarillo High School, then she attended West
Texas School of Nursing. She served in the U.S. Armed Forces during World War
II. After her discharge, Aileen attended the Barnes School of Anesthesiology
in St. Louis. She served this community as a nurse anesthetist for more than
40 years. Aileen married Clayton B. Shiver on Jan. 14, 1950, in Amarillo.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.

Survivors include her husband, Clayton B. Shiver; two daughters, Denise Shiver
Blackmore and husband Steve and Lee Ann Shiver, all of Houston; a brother,
James Hathaway of Houston; two grandchildren, Jonathan Clayton Blackmore and
Julia Christine Blackmore; and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.

Charles G. Salazar Jr.

Charles G. Salazar Jr., 50, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006.

Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors
Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mass will be at 2 p.m.
Saturday in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Monsignor Rex Nicholl
officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.

Mr. Salazar was born Dec. 31, 1955, in Amarillo, where he was raised. The last
school that he attended was West Texas A&M University where he received his
master's degree. He worked for Pioneer Energy Gas Co. until his medical
condition kept him from further work or employment.

Mr. Salazar was loved by all who knew him, and those he met will never forget
him. His greatest gift was his mind and wit. His closest relatives and friends
called him "Chez." He will be missed by all his family members and friends.

We all say "goodbye" and a peaceful journey to your Father in Heaven, and may
you now rest your soul in peace.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles G. Salazar Sr., in September
1973; and his younger brother, Mario S. Salazar, in January 2006.

Survivors include a daughter, Bianca Salazar of Fort Worth; his mother,
Dolores R. Hernandez of Amarillo; a sister, Debbie Castillo of Amarillo; a
brother, Leo T. Salazar; eight nephews and nieces and great-nephews and great-
nieces, all of Amarillo; a very special aunt who cared and loved him, Mary
Rael of Amarillo; and many cousins, aunts and uncles.

Lois Louise Moore Wright

Lois Louise Moore Wright, 75, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of
Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. Tommy Ewing of Tenth Street
United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in
White Rose Cemetery in Reydon, Okla.

Mrs. Wright was born Jan. 28, 1931, in Talmage, Kan., to William Amos and
Mildred Koelling Moore. She grew up in Abilene, Kan., and graduated from
Abilene High School in 1948. After graduation she taught in a small country
school for a year. On May 28, 1949, she married Billy Gene Wright in Abilene,
and moved to Reydon, where they lived until 1963, moving to Amarillo. Mrs.
Wright was a secretary for several different companies until she retired from
Pantex in 1996.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Billy Gene Wright,
in July 1991.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Wright and Terry Wright; three daughters,
Betty Jarvis, Nancy Tomlin and Susan Bailey; a brother, Richard Moore; a
sister, Flora Picking; 14 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

STRATFORD - Ed Smith, 79, died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006, in Dumas.

Burial will be in Stratford Cemetery with flag detail by American Legion Post

Mr. Smith was born Sept. 9, 1927, in Willow, Okla., to Dan and Mary Smith. On
Dec. 24, 1949, he married Charlene "Sherry" Bolster who preceded him in death
on March 2, 1998. He had been a resident of Stratford most of his life, and
was a member of First Christian Church in Stratford. He was owner/operator of
Chevron gas station, Golden Spread Implement, Buckle & Bow Shoe Store and
Stratford Tire Store and Motorcycle, all located in Stratford. Mr. Smith was
co-owner of Shaffer Plough Co. in Pratt, Kan., and owned ranches at Black
Mesa, Okla., and in Colorado, Texas and New Mexico.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Nick Cozart, on May 17, 1996.

Survivors include a son, Barry Kent Smith and wife Dana of Stratford; a
daughter, Tana Pemberton and husband Steve of Stratford; two sisters, Carol
Robison of Dallas and Margaret Teakell of Broken Bow; four grandchildren, Neal
Smith, Monique Kager, Ramey Cozart and Jaret Pemberton; and six great-
grandchildren.

Chief Warrant Officer 2 Miles P. Henderson

CANADIAN - Miles P. Henderson, 24, died Monday, Nov. 6, 2006, near Balad,
Iraq.

Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday in First Christian Church with Matt
Cook officiating. Arrangements are by Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian.

Miles was born Jan. 28, 1982, in Amarillo to Mr. Brad and Terry Henderson. He
was a 2000 graduate of Canadian High School. Miles then attended Western State
College in Gunnison, Colo. His attendance there lasted until his ski lift
ticket expired. From the summer of 1997 until he joined the Army, Miles worked
for Amarillo Artificial Limb and Brace, employed by two terrific friends, Chad
Mason and Don Marks. Along with their families, they loved and mentored Miles
during his employment with them.

From there Miles enlisted in the U.S. Army in May of 2003. Miles flew an AH-64
D Apache Longbow with the 82nd Airborne. He served in the Wolf Pack Squadron
in the current war with Iraq. Miles married Artis Chester on July 1, 2006, in
Fort Meyers Beach, Fla. Anyone who knew Miles, knew he loved the Lord with all
his heart. He was baptized March 1, 1992, in Midland, Mich. Thus, it is no
surprise he was an active member of First Christian Church.

Miles was preceded in death by his grandfather, Howard Gerken.

Survivors include his wife, Artis Henderson of Fort Meyers Beach; his parents,
Brad and Terry Henderson of Canadian; a sister, Deadre Henderson of the
College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Va.; his paternal grandparents,
Glenn and Virginia Henderson of Amarillo; his maternal grandmother, Bessie
Gerken of Canadian; and his great-grandmother, Bertie Whitaker of Amarillo. He
will be missed by five very close friends, Jared Hohertz, Eric Hall, George
Peyton, Derek Maupin and occasional younger substitute, Dillon Hohertz. Miles
is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and additional friends who
loved him very much.

Mrs. Babbitt was born July 7, 1911, to Elmer and Anna Waltermire in Franklin

WEATHERFORD - W.W. "Bill" Roberts Jr. died Monday, Nov. 12, 2006.

In 1968 Mr. Roberts moved to Amarillo to work for Bell Helicopter Textron,
later moving to Tehran, Iran, with Bell.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; a daughter, Naomi Roberts Woodard; a son,
William Wythe "Bill" Roberts III; a sister, Anne Blackmon; seven
grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

MIDLOTHIAN - Jerry Jay Brown, 71, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006, in Dallas.

Mr. Brown was born May 23, 1935, in Amarillo to John J. and Edith Tanner
Brown. Mr. Brown was retired, having been a yardmaster for Santa Fe Railway
and a truck driver at Andy Carlegis Trucking.

Survivors include his wife, Kathey Brown; three sons, Darrell Brown of North
Platte, Neb., and Trey Roden and Jerry Kent Brown, both of Midlothian; four
daughters, Susan Mann of Mesquite, Rhonda Roden of Fort Worth and Pamela Brown
and BreAnna Brown, both of Midlothian; a sister, Jeannie Folkner of Amarillo;

CLOVIS, N.M. - Ramona Ruth Berry, 73, died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2006.

Mrs. Berry was born Aug. 22, 1933, in Ranchvale to Arthur N. and Effie Butler

Thomas Edward Carter

CLOVIS, N.M. - Thomas Edward Carter, 91, died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006.

There will be no services. Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home.

Mr. Carter was born Feb. 24, 1915, in the Rock Lake community, northwest of
Melrose, to Tom and Myra Rudisill Carter. He married Ina Stone on Oct. 15,
1982, in Mesa, Ariz.

Survivors include a stepdaughter, Margaret Williams of Clovis; a daughter,
Jayne Norris of Phoenix; two sons, Patrick Carter of Salem, Ore., and Kelly
Carter of Albuquerque; two sisters, Louise Newsom and Hazel Dunso, both of
Clovis; a special home caregiver, Matt Nelson of Clovis; and several
grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to the Christian Children's Home in Portales.

Willa L. "Willie" Cotton

CLOVIS, N.M. - Willa L. "Willie" Cotton, 74, died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in The Chapel at Muffley Funeral
Home with Cecil Bunch officiating. Burial will be in Mission Garden of
Memories Cemetery.

Mrs. Cotton was born Dec. 11, 1931, to Leo W. and Helen F. Baer Widdifield in
Enid, Okla. She married William G. Cotton on Sept. 20, 1952, in Las Cruces.

Survivors include her husband; a son, William Douglas Cotton of Clovis; two
daughters, Terri Lynn Cotton of Alto and Pamela Jeanne Dunn of Moriarty; a
sister, Myrna W. Floyd of Horseshoe Bay, Texas; and five grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Boys Ranch of New Mexico, in care of The
Ranches, 6209 Hendrix NE, 2FL, Albuquerque, NM 87110-1334.

Jacob L. Piedra

FORT SUMNER, N.M. - Jacob L. Piedra, 22, died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006, in
Amarillo, Texas.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Coy
Brewer officiating. Arrangements are by Chavez Funeral Home.

Jacob was born Oct. 16, 1984, in San Antonio, and was currently enrolled in
cosmetology school. Jacob was an organ donor and his gift made it possible for
four people, including his aunt in Florida, to receive the gift of life.

Survivors include his parents, Ricardo and Christine Piedra of Fort Sumner;
four brothers, Jesse Piedra, David Piedra, Ricardo L. Piedra and James Piedra;
three sisters, Vicky Croney, Meghan Hernandez and Peggy Tijerina; and his
grandmothers, Lupe Luna and Severa Piedra.
