Richard "Dick" R. Ross

Richard "Dick" R. Ross, 84, of Amarillo died Wednesday, March 30, 2005.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in Westminster Presbyterian Church. Burial
will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Llano Cemetery East by Cox Funeral Home, 4180
Canyon Drive.

Mr. Ross was born near Greenburg, Pa., on a dairy farm. He graduated from
Jeannette High School in Jeannette, Pa. In February 1942, he joined the Army
and served 33 months in the South Pacific with the Field Artillery
Headquarters Battalian of the 37th Infantry Division. Mr. Ross encountered
combat with the Japanese on Guadal Canal, New Georgia, Roviana and
Bougainville. After returning from the South Pacific, Mr. Ross attained the
rank of sergeant when he became a field artillery instructor at Fort Sill,
Okla.

Mr. Ross married Bette Jo Bennett in Duncan, Okla., in 1945. In August 1949,
he graduated from Oklahoma State University with a major in geology and minor
in chemistry. His professional career was first in geophysics and later in oil
and gas exploration geology with Pure Oil Co. for 11 years, including a move
from Ardmore, Okla., to Amarillo in 1956. He spent 14 years as an independent
geologist, seven years as a dirtnet geologist with Colorado Interstate Gas and
Coastal Oil and Gas, three years with Panhandle Producing Co. as vice
president of exploration, then semi-retirement in 1985.

Mr. Ross held professional memberships in Kansas Geological Society, Ardmore
Geological Society, Oklahoma City Geological Society, Midland Geological
Society, Panhandle Geological Society, Society of Petroleum Engineers of the
American Institute of Mining Engineers and American Association of Petroleum
Geologists.

Mr. Ross was a member of Westminister Presbyterian Church, a life member of
National Rifle Association, a life member of Disabled American Veterans and
the Good Sam Club. He had numerous hobbies including gardening, photography,
hunting, fishing, camping and travel.

The family would like to offer their sincere thanks to the staff of the V.A.
Nursing Home for the wonderful care that they received.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1992; and a brother, Samuel G. Ross in
2003.

Survivors include three daughters, Judy L. Persons, Jeanne Ross Sievers and
Rebecca Ross Yarbrough, all of Amarillo; a son, Daniel Richard Ross of
Colorado Springs, Colo.; six sisters, Lee Collier of Greensburg, Pa., Elsie
Smith of Larrobe, Pa., Beulah Teitt of Trafford, Pa., Doris Gordon of
Harrisburg, Pa., Roxie Keene of Irwin, Pa., and Alice Miller of New
Kensington, Pa.; a brother, Clifford Ross of San Diego; 10 grandchildren; and
10 great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Presbyterian Home for Children, 3400 S.
Bowie St., Amarillo, TX 79109.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Nancy Mays

Nancy Mays, 72, of Amarillo died Thursday, March 31, 2005.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with
Dr. Howard Batson officiating. Private family burial was in Llano Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.

Mrs. Mays was born to Lee and Ila Wilson on Jan. 20, 1933, in McLean. She
married Jim R. Mays in Amarillo on Dec. 12, 1952. She has resided in Amarillo
for the last 27 years. Mrs. Mays was a very involved member of First Baptist
Church. She was a sanctuary choir member, participated in the Living Christmas
Tree, assisted in teaching children's choir, attended WMU, and was an active
part of the Irma Richards Sunday school class in adult 6.

Mrs. Mays was a current board member on the local American Cancer Society
Board and previously served for two years. Mrs. Mays participated in Walk for
the Cure sponsored by the Susan G. Komen Foundation, even in the midst of
receiving chemotherapy.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Jim Ann Rasco and husband, George,
of Amarillo; a son, Daniel Mays of Amarillo; a sister, Jane Johnson and
husband, Walter, of Amarillo; two grandchildren, Leslee Rasco and Logan Rasco;
and a niece, Melody Witherspoon of Amarillo.

Lera Pearl "Mrs. Gabby" Marshall Phillips

Lera Pearl "Mrs. Gabby" Marshall Phillips, 90, of Amarillo died Wednesday,
March 30, 2005.

Please join us in celebrating the beautiful life of our mother and grandmother
at 11 a.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E.
Interstate 40, with Richard Dickerson, pastor of Bykota Baptist Church,
officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Phillips fell asleep on this earth and woke up to hear her Lord say,
"Well done my good and faithful servant. Welcome Home." She was born Oct. 13,
1914, in Callahan County to Fannie Maude (Erwin) and Finis K. Marshall.

She married W.W. "Gabby" Phillips on Sept. 2, 1933. They remained devoted to
one another until his homegoing in 1993. She was a homemaker and a mother to
all who knew her. Lera was a member of Bykota Baptist Church. She was truly an
inspiration to everyone who knew her. She modeled her life after her faith and
Christian principles, which reflected her daily walk with her Lord and Savior.
We rejoice in the knowledge that she now resides in Heaven with her Jesus.

She was preceded in death by her husband; both parents; an infant son, Jimmy
Donell; two sons-in-love, Clint Willburn and Joe Dearen; a daughter, Janice
Abrahamson; four sisters; and a brother.

Survivors include three daughters, Janell Glazner and husband, Bob, of
Farmington, N.M., Nancy Renfro of Amarillo and Judy Ray and husband, Richard,
of Aztec, N.M.; a son-in-love, George Abrahamson of Amarillo; a sister,
Jeannie Talcott of Santa Anna, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-
grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Joe Dunlap

Joe Dunlap, 69, of Amarillo died Tuesday, March 29, 2005.

The wake will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at New Covenant Missionary Baptist
Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the church with the Rev. James
M. Mims, senior pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by
Golden Gate Mortuary, 1416 N. Hughes St.

Mr. Dunlap was a member of New Covenant, where he was a deacon, a member of
The Brotherhood Ministry, Men's Adult Sunday school class and the male chorus.

Survivors include his wife, Genell; two sons, Tommy Washington and Ricky
Graves; a daughter, Genetter Graves; five brothers, Arlie of Bonham, Gregory
of Amarillo, Cameron of Tyler, and Gregg and Thaddus, both of Dallas; four
sisters, Cora Dunlap, Velma Dunlap and Charlene Shaw, all of Bonham, and his
twin sister, JoAnn Dunlap Morrison of Waco; and three grandchildren.

The family will be at 3117 Orange St.

Taylor Jo Stewart

Taylor Jo Stewart, 15, of Amarillo died Wednesday, March 30, 2005.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Trinity Baptist Church with Todd

Cemetery by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.

Taylor was born and raised in Amarillo. She attended Gene Howe Elementary
School and Westover Intermediate School. She was a freshman at Amarillo High
School where she played volleyball. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church
where she was active in the youth group. Taylor loved life, her friends and
loved to play volleyball.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Gerald Thompson; and her great-
grandparents, Bud Hardison, M.M. Widner and Gabe and Edith Thompson.

Survivors include her father and stepmother, Mark and Heather Stewart of
Amarillo; her mother and stepfather, Tonya and Austin Bagley of Amarillo; a
brother, Ty Stewart of Amarillo; a stepbrother, Will Bagley of Amarillo; a

Dr. Lowell Postma

Dr. Lowell Postma, 88, of Amarillo died Sunday, March 27, 2005.

The family will hold private services. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers
Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Dr. Postma was born Aug. 22, 1916, at St. Mary's, Kan., the youngest of three
children of Robert Arthur and Lorena Kansas Ramsey Postma. He received a
doctorate in medicine from the University of Kansas in January 1944. His
military service was 1946 to 1948.

He was employed by the Veterans Administration in Albuquerque in 1955;
transferred to the Amarillo VA Hospital in 1969, retiring as chief of the
medical service in 1980. While with the VA in Albuquerque and Amarillo he held
teaching appointments with their state medical schools.

He was a member of American Medical Association. He enjoyed camping, fishing,
trailering, photography, skiing and woodworking. He married Billie Coleman in
1943; she preceded him in death in 1949. He married Orena Hancock, RN, in
1950.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Byron Postma of San Diego, Dr. Robert
Postma of El Paso and Richard Postma of Fort Worth; two daughters, Janet Bugg
of Denver and Ann Postma of Abilene; five grandchildren; and three great-
grandchildren.

DUMAS - Miguel Gonzalez, 58, died Tuesday, March 29, 2005.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Morrison Funeral Directors Memorial
Chapel with Jesus Bobadilla of Kingdom Hall officiating. Burial will be in
Northlawn Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Gonzalez was born Oct. 8, 1946, in Gomez Palacio, Durango, Mexico. He had
been a Cactus resident since 1988. He was a baker.

Survivors include his wife, Elodia; three sons, Miguel Gonzalez Rivas of
Denver, Ezequiel Gonzalez Rivas of Sunray and Jose I. Gonzalez of Dumas; two

CHILDRESS - Laverne Hunter, 91, died Wednesday, March 30, 2005.

Mrs. Hunter was born July 19, 1913, in Mexico, Mo. She was a retired medical
secretary and was a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Hunter.

Amarillo; a niece, Joyce Caldwell and husband, Ray Don, of Tell; two great-

Mr. Sourivong was born Jan. 1, 1955, in Vientiane, Loas. He had been a
resident of Dumas since 1985. He married Phouvieng in April 1977. He was a
member of Lao Mission First Baptist Church in Dumas. He was a meat cutter at
Swift.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Judy Sourivong of Dumas; a son,
Sengthiene Sourivong of Amarillo; three sisters; and a grandchild.

Pallbearers will be family members.

Mr. Arrington was born April 29, 1926, in Rogers, Ark. He married Eloise Jones

Mrs. Grossman was born on Valentines Day, Feb. 14, 1909, in Beaver County. Mae

Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday in Our Lady of Guadalupe. Mass will be at

Mr. Chavez was born Sept. 20, 1936, in Santa Rosa. He married Celina Gonzalez
on Sept. 19, 1953, in Clovis.

of Clovis, Edwin Dean of Dixon and Jeffery Chavez of Portales; three

HOOKER, OKLA - Evilee Arnold, 77, died Thursday, March 31, 2005.

Mrs. Arnold moved to Hooker from Jena, La., in 1953. She married Orban Ray
Arnold on Sept. 5, 1953.

Betty Jo Davis Villandry

WAGONER, OKLA. - Betty Jo Davis Villandry, 77, died Wednesday, March 30, 2005.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Shipman Funeral Home Chapel with Kenneth
Villandry, elder, officiating. Burial will be in Pioneer Cemetery.

Mrs. Villandry was born to Chleo and Opal Luretta Davis in Dozier, Texas, on
Dec. 10, 1927. She married Raymond E. Villandry on July 16, 1944, in Amarillo,
Texas. They had a strong love for one another, and teamed together in business
and in ministry. She worked many dedicated years in customer service starting
with Sears in Corpus Christi, Texas, and later transferred to Sears in San
Angelo, Texas, earning her 20-year company lapel pin. She also worked for 10
years with Montgomery Ward. She took pride in her jobs and was named
supervisor of many departments.

Betty enjoyed serving the public as well as the Lord. Betty and Raymond moved
from Texas to the Wagoner community in 1999 and were members of Grace Baptist
Church in Wagoner. Betty was devoted to her children, and was a loving wife,
mother and sister.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two children, Mark
David Villandry and Donna Ray Pinkston.

Survivors include a son, Kenneth Villandry and wife, Diana, of Coweta; two
daughters, Jo Carol Villandry of Austin, Texas, and Luretta Calvert and
husband, Dwain, of San Angelo; two brothers, Donald and Ralph Davis, both of
Amarillo; seven grandchildren, Christine Mudron, Jennifer Withrow, Bronwyn
Batjer, Matthew Villandry, Harmony Villandry, Mark Calvert and Sarah Calvert;
two great-grandchildren, Ryan Withrow and Gabe Haskins; and many nieces,

Weldon Fletcher Carter, 91, of Amarillo died Tuesday, March 29, 2005.

Mr. Carter was born April 18, 1913, in Prairieville, Kaufman County, to
William Columbus Carter and Lula E. (Llewellyn) Clifton. He married Kathryn
Dubbs Anderson on June 11, 1938, in Amarillo. He moved to Amarillo in 2004
from Alamogordo, N.M., after living in San Antonio most of his adult life. He
served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He worked for the next 20
years in the municipal bond industry, associated with M.E. Allison of Ranson
Davidson Co., then as a partner in McIntyre McRoberts Co. and then as a
founding partner of First of Texas Corp.

During his tenure, these firms underwrote and marketed hundreds of bond issues
for the construction of school buildings and municipal infrastructure
improvements throughout south Texas. He joined Frost National Bank of San
Antonio in 1958 as an investment officer, retiring in 1978 as senior vice
president.

Survivors include his wife and several nieces and nephews.

Richard "Dick" R. Ross

Richard "Dick" R. Ross, 84, of Amarillo died Wednesday, March 30, 2005.

Services will be at 4 p.m. today in Westminster Presbyterian Church. Burial
will be at 3 p.m. today in Llano Cemetery East by Cox Funeral Home, 4180
Canyon Drive.

Mr. Ross was born near Greensburg, Pa., on a dairy farm. He graduated from
Jeannette High School in Jeannette, Pa. In February 1942, he joined the Army
and served 33 months in the South Pacific with the Field Artillery
Headquarters Battalion of the 37th Infantry Division. Mr. Ross encountered
combat with the Japanese on Guadal Canal, New Georgia, Roviana and
Bougainville. After returning from the South Pacific, Mr. Ross attained the
rank of sergeant when he became a field artillery instructor at Fort Sill,
Okla.

Mr. Ross married Bette Jo Bennett in Duncan, Okla., in 1945. In August 1949,
he graduated from Oklahoma State University with a major in geology and minor
in chemistry. His professional career was first in geophysics and later in oil
and gas exploration geology with Pure Oil Co. for 11 years, including a move
from Ardmore, Okla., to Amarillo in 1956. He spent 14 years as an independent
geologist, seven years as a dirtnet geologist with Colorado Interstate Gas and
Coastal Oil and Gas, three years with Panhandle Producing Co. as vice
president of exploration, then semi-retirement in 1985.

Mr. Ross held professional memberships in Kansas Geological Society, Ardmore
Geological Society, Oklahoma City Geological Society, Midland Geological
Society, Panhandle Geological Society, Society of Petroleum Engineers of the
American Institute of Mining Engineers and American Association of Petroleum
Geologists.

Mr. Ross was a member of Westminister Presbyterian Church, a life member of
National Rifle Association, a life member of Disabled American Veterans and
the Good Sam Club. He had numerous hobbies including gardening, photography,
hunting, fishing, camping and travel.

The family would like to offer their sincere thanks to the staff of the V.A.
Nursing Home for the wonderful care that they received.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1992; and a brother, Samuel G. Ross in
2003.

Survivors include three daughters, Judy L. Persons, Jeanne Ross Sievers and
Rebecca Ross Yarbrough, all of Amarillo; a son, Daniel Richard Ross of
Colorado Springs, Colo.; six sisters, Lee Collier of Greensburg, Pa., Elsie

Billie M. Brown, 72, of Amarillo died Thursday, March 31, 2005.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood
Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with Wayne Campbell, RN and longtime family
friend, and the Rev. Patrick Cararthers of St. Hyacinth Catholic Church
officiating.

Mrs. Brown was born Dec. 31, 1932, in Gray Mule to Richard Zeno and Audrey
Hefner Kelly. She attended Amarillo High School. She married Billy F. Brown on
Oct. 17, 1949, in Amarillo.

Billie was a charter member of Olivia's Angels. She was the first employee
hired at St. Anthony's Hospice as Sister Olivia's administrative secretary.
She was instrumental in establishing the policies, procedures and guidelines
for Amarillo's first hospice. She worked in several nursing homes and in later
years worked for Schooler Funeral Home. She was the Panhandle chairperson for
the Texas Inmate Family Association, a support group that educates and
advocates for families of the incarcerated. She devoted her entire life to the
needs of others.

She was preceded in death by her father and her ex-husband, Bill. Though
divorced, they remained close friends.

Survivors include a daughter, Tracy Brown Schechter of Los Angeles; two sons,
Scott Brown of Amarillo and David Brown of Channing; her mother, Audrey Kelly
of Amarillo; two sisters, Bobbie Thomas of Wellington and Sue Lewis of
Amarillo; two brothers, Winfred Kelly of Amarillo and Richard Kelly of Fort
Worth; and four grandchildren.

JR Ferril, 43, of Amarillo died Wednesday March 30, 2005.

Mr. Ferril was born in Shamrock. He lived in Amarillo all of his life. He
graduated from River Road High School in 1979. He worked with his family's
business, T-Miller Wrecker Service, for more than 40 years. Mr. Ferril married
Jeni Fain in 1979 at Amarillo. He loved auto racing, golf and hockey. He was a
member of the board of directors for the Texas Towing and Storage Association.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Ferril in 2004 and two brothers.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Megan Ferril of Amarillo; a son, David
Ferril of Amarillo, his father, Lonnie Ferril of Amarillo; a brother, Byron

William Edward "Bill" Kelley

William Edward "Bill" Kelley, 69, of Amarillo died Friday, April 1, 2005.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Rector Funeral Home Coulter Chapel, 8310
S. Coulter St., with Alan Burkhalter, pastor of Chaparral Hills Baptist
Church, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.

Mr. Kelley, while growing up, lived in many parts of Texas and Oklahoma. He
married Janette Broughton Oct. 12, 1962, at Lubbock. In 1966, they moved to
Brownfield, where he began his teaching career in auto mechanics. Mr. and Mrs.
Kelley then settled in Amarillo in 1970, where he taught at Amarillo College
and Caprock High School. He retired from teaching in 1993. Mr. Kelley was very
active in different areas of the Khiva Shrine Temple, such as the Cycle Escort
Unit, Khiva Klowns, Mini Vettes, Provost and the Mobile Nobles. He was a 32nd
degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a
Baptist, a Christian man and loved his family.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Tracy Scott Kelly and wife, Tina, of
Lubbock; a daughter, Allison Diane Gaut and husband, Comer, of Amarillo; three
sisters, Edith Emery of Lubbock, Merle Rushing of Tacoma Wash., and Barbara

Hollis Barclay Spiller

Hollis Barclay Spiller, 87, of Amarillo died Thursday, March 31, 2005.

Mr. Spiller was born in Quanah on Jan. 7, 1918. He married Catherine Miller of
Borger in April 1942, graduated from the University of Texas in May 1942 and
immediately began his service as a Naval officer for the duration of World War
II. Upon leaving the Navy in 1945, Mr. Spiller began his career as a civil
engineer. He worked for Sun Oil Co. in Beaumont and Houston for 20 years and
then worked in Wyoming for several years before moving to Amarillo in 1984 and
working for Robert Keys. He retired in 1995.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Catherine "Katie" Spiller; two
daughters, Deane Shokes of Menlo Park, Calif., and Catherine Spiller of
Amarillo; two sons, Richard B. Spiller of Georgetown and James H. Spiller of
Ridgecrest, Calif.; a brother, Michael W. Spiller of Wichita Falls; seven
grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Ocie G. Stewart

PAMPA - Ocie G. Stewart, 78, died Thursday, March 31, 2005.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Edwin

Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Mr. Stewart was born Aug. 15, 1926, in Wilson, Okla. He and his family moved
to Pampa in 1944. Both he and his father went to work for Cities Service
Natural Gas Co. Shortly after turning 18, he was called for Army service and
served in the South Pacific and with the Occupational Army in Japan for two
years. Upon returning to Pampa, he again worked for Cities Service Company,
retiring in 1986 with just less than 42 years of service. He was born the year
the plant was built and retired the day the plant was shut down.

Mr. Stewart married Alice Jean Robinson on Sept. 3, 1949. They enjoyed the
many things they were involved in for more than 55 years. He was a member of
First Presbyterian Church of Pampa.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Marion and Hazel Stewart,
and by two infant sons.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Randy Stewart and wife, Julie, of Amarillo;
a grandson, Chase Stewart of Amarillo; a stepgrandson, Paul Chitwood and wife,
Heather, of Lubbock; a brother, Clent Stewart and wife, Pat, of Pampa; a
brother-in-law, Keith Robinson and wife, Mary Ann, of Pampa; two nieces, Lesa
Schafer and husband, Billy Wayne, and daughters Katie and Patsy, all of

faithfully for Ocie through his long illness.

Falls.

Mr. Rudd was born to Olin Harry Rudd Sr. and Ida Mae James Rudd on Dec. 18,
1926, in Binghamton, N.Y. He was a longtime resident of Quanah and Wichita
Falls. He retired from the Air Force after 26 years of service. He was a
Baptist.

He was preceded in death by a son, Charles Olin Rudd on Dec. 18, 1991.

Clara Mae Baughier Stewart

DUKE, OKLA. - Clara Mae Baughier Stewart, 93, died Wednesday, March 30, 2005.

Services were at 10 a.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark
Farr officiating. Burial was in Rock Cemetery, north of Duke, by Patterson
Greer Funeral Home of Hollis.

Mrs. Stewart was born Dec. 19, 1911, in Gravley, Ark., to William Aaron Beck
and Mary Janetta Sims Beck. She married Glen Baughier on Sept. 23, 1933, in
Olustee, and she married Carl Stewart on March 22, 1975.

Survivors include a daughter, Glenda Brewer of Fort Worth, Texas; a brother,
Lawrence Beck of Hollis; four sisters, Martha Hill of Cordell, Iva Pittman of
Amarillo, Texas, Lillie Craven of Big Spring, Texas, and Ramona Frederick of
Center, Texas; seven grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-
great-grandchildren.

Joe Whitehead

CLAREMORE, OKLA. - Joe Whitehead, 81, formerly of Woodward and Amarillo,
Texas, died Thursday, March 31, 2005.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Church of the Nazarene with the Rev.
Stephen Cecil officiating. Burial with military graveside rites will be at 11
a.m. Monday in Llano Cemetery in Amarillo. Arrangements are by Billings
Funeral Home of Woodward.

Mr. Whitehead was born July 25, 1923, in Snyder, Texas, to Jim Alexander
Whitehead and Ada Leona Rogers Whitehead. He married Virginia Lee White on
Nov. 14, 1952, in Roswell, N.M.

Survivors include a son, Randy Whitehead of Trophy Club, Texas; a daughter,
D'Ann Riley Greenleaf of Catoosa; five grandchildren; three great-
grandchildren; a brother, Dick Whitehead of Amarillo; and two sisters, Lucy
Whitehead of Hawley, Texas, and Pearl Celey of Tucson, Ariz.

BOISE CITY, OKLA. - Miranda Rayann Gonzalez, 2-year-old daughter of Kristin
Gonzalez and David Hernandez, died Thursday, March 31, 2005, in Amarillo,
Texas.

Miranda was born June 22, 2002, in Guymon. She lived all her life in Boise
City.

Survivors include her mother of Boise City; her father of Boise City; her
grandparents, Mark and Elizabeth Hensley and Antonio and Mary Lou Hernandez,
all of Boise City, and Damian and Aurea Gonzalez of Sublette, Kan.; two half
brothers, David Trujillo and Elijah Hernandez, both of Arizona; and a great-

CLAUDE - Helene Thornton, 80, died Saturday, April 2, 2005, in Canyon.

Mrs. Thornton was born in Batesville, Ark., on May 30, 1924, to Thomas O. and
Dovie Caterlin. She married Afton Thornton in Des Moines, N.M., in 1948. They
moved to Claude in 1958. Mrs. Thornton served as the deputy tax assessor for
Armstrong County from 1968 until her retirement in 1986.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2002 and a brother, Thomas O.
Caterlin Jr. of Wasco, Calif.

Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Byrd and husband, Bob, of Canyon; a son,
Thomas F. Thornton and wife, Norma Barbero-Thornton, of Las Vegas, N.M.; six

Billie "Nana" Pelton

Billie "Nana" Pelton, 68, of Amarillo died Saturday, April 2, 2005.

Celebration of her life will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in St. Paul United Methodist
Church with Rusty Dickerson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial
Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 East Interstate 40.

Mrs. Pelton was born Jan. 5, 1937, in Beaver, Okla., and raised by H.T. Parson
and wife, Lillian. She attended school in Cross Plains and the Pioneer
Community. She married Gilbert Pelton on Feb. 5, 1959, in Abilene. They later
moved to Amarillo in 1964. She worked at Mayco Laundry from 1992 to the
present. She enjoyed bowling in the leagues at Western Bowl from 1978 to the
present. Billie took great pride in her family and was the "Bestest Nana
ever!" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Billie touched and
enriched many lives; anyone who knew her was blessed. She was a member of
Paramount Baptist Church.

The family would like to thank some very special friends, Janis and Donnie
Barnett.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a sister, Alice
Champion.

Survivors include her life companion, John Kelly of Amarillo; three sons,
Keith Pelton and wife, Angela, of Amarillo, David Rogers of Sarasota, Fla.,
and Jack Rogers of Baton Rouge, La.; three daughters, Beverly Boggs and

June Jenson Rawley

June Jenson Rawley, 78, of Amarillo, formerly of Ruidoso, N.M., died Saturday,
April 2, 2005.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Andrew's Episcopal
Church. A reception in the parish hall will immediately follow the service.
Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Mrs. Rawley passed from this life to the next April 2, 2005, at the age of 78,
only two months after moving to Amarillo from Ruidoso for medical care.

June was a native Texan, born in Limestone County. She married Walter Rawley
in 1945, and they raised their family in Dallas. She was an active member of
Episcopal Church of the Holy Mount in Ruidoso where her ashes will be
interred.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Rachael Rawley, of Colorado
Springs.

Survivors include Walter "Sonny" Rawley, her loving husband of 59 years; four
children, Jena Taylor of Amarillo, Kiar First of Oregon, Walter "Mac" Rawley
of New Jersey and Joe Jenson Rawley of Kansas; eight grandchildren, Andrea
Watson and Elizabeth "Liz" Secrest, both of Dallas, Eryn Rawley of New York,
Jessica Rawley of Washington, Jenson Rawley Whitaker of Amarillo, Marshall
Rawley of Kansas and David and John Rawley, both of New Jersey; and three

LEVELLAND - Melodese Tunnell, 93, died Saturday, April 2, 2005, in Amarillo.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church with the
Rev. Jesse Hodge, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in City of Levelland
Cemetery by George Price Funeral Home.

Mrs. Tunnell was born Aug. 14, 1911, in Bonham to H.L. "Lee" Brady and Zora
Fortner Brady. She moved with her family to Levelland as a child and lived
most of her years there. Melodese was an avid violinist, learning to play the
violin at age six. She studied music at the Fort Worth Conservatory after
completing high school in Levelland.

In 1928, she left the school of music to return to Levelland and marry her
best friend and the love of her life, Joe Tunnell. Melodese taught violin and
played with the Lubbock Symphony for many years. She was a charter member of
the Levelland Music Club. She also was a youth leader and dedicated member of
First United Methodist Church in Levelland. She and Joe fulfilled a lifelong
dream by building a home for the boys of Boys Ranch in 1973.

Melodese was a kind, gentle- hearted Christian whose sweet spirit touched
everyone she knew. She always said she had the most wonderful life. She loved
traveling, music, her cats, her family and friends, and most of all her
husband of 64 years.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lee Brady in 1917; a brother, Jimmy
Greenway in 1957; her mother, Zora Westmoreland in 1979; and her husband, Joe
Tunnell in 1993.

Survivors include a nephew, Jim Ray and wife, Kathy, and children of Amarillo,
and many dear friends and extended family members.

Frank P. Wilson on June 29, 1944, in Amarillo.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 8, 2002.

Mrs. Ray was born in Foard County and graduated from Kelton High School in
1933. She graduated from nursing school at St. Anthony's School of Nursing.
She married Lex Ray on June 21, 1938, in Amarillo. She lived in Amarillo most
of her life and worked as an LVN at St. Anthony's Hospital for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2001; a daughter, Adell Hampton in
1990; and a son, Tommy Lex Ray in 2003.

Survivors include two grandsons, Brad Langford and wife, Corie, of Amarillo
and Michael Ray and wife, Debra, of California; two great-grandsons, Curtis

Gladys Hale, 97, of Canyon died Sunday, April 3, 2005.

Mrs. Hale was born May 11, 1907, in Hail to J.C. and Carrie Berryhill
Hargrove. She graduated from Gober High School and married James E. Hale in
Clarksville in 1927. She was a longtime resident of Amarillo and moved to
Canyon in 1996. She loved people and never met a stranger. She was a member of
Southlawn Baptist Church and had many friends in the Southlawn area of
Amarillo.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1976; and nine brothers and
sisters.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Fussell and companion, Buzz Daniels, of
Amarillo and Barbara Blackwell and husband, Rusty, of Canyon; five
grandchildren, Eddie Gene Fussell of Denver, Scott Fussell and Rick Fussell,
both of Amarillo, and Jimmy Blackwell and Johnny Blackwell, both of Plainview;
13 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

G.H. Horace Bible, 95, of Canyon died Sunday, April 3, 2005.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church in Canyon
with the Rev. Clark Williams and the Rev. Donna Johnston officiating. Burial
will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Brooks Funeral Directors.

Mr. Bible was born April 20, 1909, in Quanah to Cecil and Lydia Abbott Bible.
He graduated from McLean High School and served in the Army during World War
II in New Guinea. He made boots in Odessa before going to the Army and moved
to Canyon in 1945 after his discharge.

He was self-employed as a water well driller and continued actively working
until age 91. He could repair anything old and was known for making a part if
he wasn't able to find one. He was an avid fisherman and was a member of First
United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vee in 1992; a brother, Buck Bible; and
three sisters, Faye Bell, Bonnie Dowdy and Zudie Edwards.

Survivors include a stepdaughter, Marieta Gwyn and husband, Roy, of Wildorado;
a sister, Juanita Neal of Smyer; two stepgrandchildren, Dywan Lane and
Mareechia Pennington; 11 nieces and nephews, Don Bell and Gary Bell, both of
Lubbock, Skip Edwards of Eagle Pass, Eddie Edwards of Amarillo, Bruce Dowdy of

Mr. Carter was born April 26, 1924, to Mark and Bertha Carter in Blakersmill,
W.Va. He was a farmer/rancher and was a veteran of the Navy during World War
II.

Sharon, all of Amarillo; three brothers, Gerald Carter and Tom Carter, both of

Billy Roy Cash

MCLEAN - Billy Roy Cash, 83, died Sunday, April 3, 2005.

Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in McLean Cemetery with
Frank Davis officiating. Arrangements are by Bailey-Ware Funeral Home.

Mr. Cash was born in McLean on June 1, 1921, to Claybourne Jeremiah Cash and
Lavada Phillips Cash. He graduated from McLean High School. He married Billie
May Lisle of Shamrock on Dec. 25, 1940. He worked for Shamrock Oil and Gas in
Dumas beginning in 1939 as an assistant operator. In 1944 he was inducted into
the Army and served two years in the Mariana Islands during World War II. He
was discharged in 1946 and returned to Shamrock Oil and Gas until April 1947.
Bill, Billy Mae and their son, Roy Don Cash, moved back to McLean where Bill
worked as a consignee for Mobil Oil Co. until 1966 and then as a jobber for
Diamond Shamrock until he retired in 1981.

Bill served on the McLean School Board from 1954 to 1960. The McLean City
Council from 1960 to 1964 and the McLean Volunteer Fire Department for 20
years, retiring in 1967. He was a past director of Red River Savings and Loan,
McLean Country Club, Pampa Club and J.R. Development Co. Bill was an avid
hunter, fisherman and loved the outdoors. Bill was preceded in death by his
fist wife in 1989. He married Jolynn Jones Davis on May 18, 1990, and they
made their residence in Pampa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, both of McLean; his second wife of
Pampa; a brother, Claybourne "Buzz" Cash of Amarillo; a sister, Beatrice Cash
Cubine of McLean; and a granddaughter, Keitha Davis of Pampa.

Survivors include a son, Roy Don Cash and wife, Kay Burleson, of Lubbock and
Salt Lake City; a grandson, Clay Collin Cash and wife, Ashley Bowes, of
Midland; a great-niece, Cathy Culver Musslewhite and husband, Jim, of
Englewood, Colo.; a great-great-niece; Jolynn brought three children into
Bill's Life including Kathy Davis and Lewis Davis and wife, Debbie, all of
Pampa, and Frank Davis and wife, Melody, of Channing; four grandchildren, Dave
Davis and wife and Ryan Davis and wife, all of Pampa, and Elizabeth Davis and
Jonathan Davis, both of Channing; and three great-grandchildren.

DUMAS - Doniece Lawson, 44, died Sunday, April 3, 2005.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Assembly of God with the Rev. Jerry
Trammell, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Morrison
Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Lawson began her celebration in heaven on April 3, 2005. She was born
June 23, 1960, in Olton to Basil and Gloria Huguley. She was a 1978 graduate
of Olton High School. She was a resident of Dumas since 1983. On June 8, 1978,
she married Ricky Lawson in Olton. She and her husband operated Triple L
Utilities Inc., where she served as secretary for many years. She also worked
for Ad Rem Real Estate for 15 tears. She was a member of Trinity Fellowship of
Amarillo.

She was preceded in death by her father in June 2001.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Amber McKay and husband, Dustin,
and Ashlee Farni and husband, Colt, of Dumas; her mother, Gloria Huguley of
Olton; a brother, Preston Huguley of Olton; a sister, Stacy Catlett of Olton;
and two granddaughters, Bailee and Rylee McKay of Dumas.

Pallbearers will be Joe McDonald, Truman Bullard, Tom Ferguson, Roy Hokanson,
Danny Farni and Duane Ollinger. Honorary pallbearers will be Bruce Smith and
Tom Hokanson.

Raymond Earl Newell

CANADIAN - Raymond Earl Newell, 84, died Sunday, April 3, 2005.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Presbyterian Church with the Rev.
John Duncan officiating. Burial will be in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery by
Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian.

Mr. Newell was born Oct. 7, 1920, in Canadian to the late Mr. Wayne Newell and
Mrs. Carrie Wallace Newell. He was a graduate of Canadian High School in 1938.
He served as a member of the Naval Air Corps from 1945 to 1946 as a diesel
mechanic in San Diego, and the Guam and Johnson Islands in the Pacific
theater. He married Blossom Knop on Aug. 3, 1947, in Wichita, Kan.

Raymond joined his father in the John Deere dealership in Canadian and later
owned and operated a dirt construction company, serving the oilfields in
Hemphill and surrounding counties. He built multiple warehouses in Texas,
Oklahoma and Wyoming for oilfield service companies. He was a private pilot
for nearly 60 years and owned 14 airplanes. He flew for business and pleasure.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, AOPA, Texas State Aviation
Association, Winnebago Travel Club, Caprock Cruisers Motorhome Club and FMCA.
Due to ill health Raymond and Blossom had moved to the Craig Retirement
Community in Amarillo in December 2004.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, the Rev. Georgia Newell King of
Amarillo; two grandchildren, Bryan King and wife, April, of Lake Dallas and
Brent King and wife, Heather, of Amarillo; three great-grandchildren, Connor
King and Kelton King, both of Lake Dallas, and Kirkland King of Amarillo; six
nieces, Sue Cecotti of Canadian, Sherri Cecotti of Dallas, Carolyn Sandlin and
Heather Simon, both of Midland, Kari Stewart of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Lavonne

Mr. Murphy was born Aug. 12, 1951, in Galveston. On Aug. 13, 2002, he married
Cathi Lee Gill in Amarillo. Bob was president of Pangaea Properties, and an
investor in the oil and gas industry for many years. A longtime member of Ribs
Inc., he was an avid supporter of the Boys and Girls Clubs and served on the
board of directors of Wichita Falls Area Food Bank. Fishing was his passion
but he loved being with his family and friends most of all. He will always be
remembered as a man who loved life, telling wonderful, funny stories and
helping others. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ozro Woodfield Murphy.

Survivors include his wife; his mother, Annie Laurie Murphy of Bulverde; two
brothers, Dr. David Stanford Murphy of Sequin and Dr. George Thomas Murphy of
Girdwood, Alaska; a stepdaughter, Leighan Elizabeth Edwards of Amarillo; a

David E. Miles, 77, of Amarillo died Monday, April 4, 2005.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in San Jacinto Assembly of God Church with
Melvin Suttle, pastor, and Larry Miles of Trinity Fellowship Church
officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery East by Cox Funeral Home, 4180
Canyon Drive.

Mr. Miles was born and raised in Hereford. He was a graduate of Hereford High
School, where he played football and was voted #1 Fan in later years. He was a
veteran of the Army, where he served with the U.S. Occupation Forces in Japan.
He married Edith McMillan on Sept. 29, 1951, in Hereford.

He moved to Amarillo in 1969 from Hereford. He owned and operated Central
Claims Service in Amarillo until his retirement. He was a member of San
Jacinto Assembly of God Church, where he served on the board for many years.
Mr. Miles loved his Lord, his family and the Hereford Whitefaces.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Lee Miles in 2003.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Sue Nelson and husband, Jim, of
Davis, Okla., and Becky Cremo and husband, Albert, of Laredo; three sons,
Larry Miles and wife, Becky, and Jason Miles and wife, Amber, all of Amarillo,

She was a member of the Choctaw Nation.

Mr. White was born to Allie and Cordie White on Feb. 26, 1918, in Eldorado,
Okla. He was the oldest of nine children. He attended Borger High School. He
married Bess Whitchurch on Jan. 7, 1939, in Clayton, N.M. He was a longtime
member of the Church of Christ. He worked for 41 years for Phillips Petroleum
and lived in Phillips, Sunray, Dumas and Guymon, Okla.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Adron M. White; and three
sisters, Betty Ruth Kelsey, Lorena Elizabeth Weatherford and Alene Juanita
Helper.

DUMAS - Charley Albert Helms, 85, died Thursday, March 31, 2005, in Glen Rose.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in North Lawn Memorial Gardens

Mr. Helms was born July 6, 1919, in Butler, Okla. He lived in Dumas for many
years before moving to Glen Rose. He was a hard-working person late in life
and was devoted to his Lord Jesus and family. He was manager of Bryon
Stinson's Car Wash for 10 years.

He was a member of Freedom Church of Glen Rose. He married his first wife,
Margie Mae Thompson in 1941. She preceded him in death in 1984. He served in
the Army during World War II, Timberwolf Infantry and received a Purple Heart
and Silver Star. He was a hero to his family and country.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; four daughters, LaRue Lancaster of
Comanche, Okla., Edna Mae Powers of Graham, and Patsy Langford and Cynthia
Fegley, both of Amarillo; three stepsons, David Peck of Moore, Okla., Rick
Peck of Duncan, Okla., and Bryon Stinson of Glen Rose; a stepdaughter, Billie

Jean Richmond

Jean Richmond, 81, of Amarillo died Wednesday, April 6, 2005.

Vigil will be at 7 p.m. today in St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Mass will be
at 10 a.m. Friday in the church with the Rev. Anthony Neusch of St. Mary's
Catholic Church officiating. Private family burial will be in Memory Gardens
Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.

Mrs. Richmond was born in West DePere, Wis., to Norman and Christine Nuss. She
received her degree in nursing from Loyola University and was almost
immediately commissioned in the Army Nurses Corps in January 1945 at the age
of 22.

She served in the Army for 12 years, having tours of duty in Europe and in
Korea at the 121 Evac Hospital where she met her future husband, Joe. They
were married in the chapel at Fort Ord, Calif., in 1957. While still in the
service they were both transferred to Frankfurt, Germany, where their
daughter, Nadine, was born. Mrs. Richmond resigned from the service but stayed
active in Army nursing as a civil service employee. Mr. Richmond was
transferred to Sandia Base, N.M., in the 1960s, where their son, Mike, was
born.

Mr. Richmond later retired and took a job with Holiday Inn and brought his
family to Amarillo. This would be their final move as they all wanted to
remain and make their lives here in Amarillo. Mrs. Richmond worked as an RN at
NWTH for about a year and then went to work at the VA Hospital. She retired
from the VA and enjoyed civilian life to the fullest for the rest of her life.

Mrs. Richmond was an avid reader and bridge player. She belonged to many
clubs, including the Book Review Club and Amarillo Federated Women's Club. She
especially enjoyed her great and fortunate association with people.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Nadine Sue Doerfler and husband,
Mark, of San Antonio; a son, Michael Joseph Richmond of Reno, Nev.; a
granddaughter, Paula Jean Doerfler; and a sister, Frances Worm of Ponte Vedra,
Fla.

The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Casteel in 1993.

Mason Lawrence Scott, 88, of Alvarado, formerly of Amarillo, died Tuesday,
April 5, 2005, in Burleson.

Memories with Zeke Taylor of First Baptist Church in Rendon officiating.
Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth

Mr. Scott was born Nov. 21, 1916, in Gray County, McLean. He moved to
Childress County in 1927 and attended school at Purple Hill and Carey. He
married Lois Lavelle McAdams in 1937. He lived in Amarillo for 60 years and
spent 35 years in the appliance, furniture and TV business.

He was a member of San Jacinto Baptist Church for 40 years and was currently a
member of First Baptist Church in Rendon. He married his present wife,
Claudine Presley of Rendon on May 12, 2001.

He was preceded in death by his first wife on March 4, 1983.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Scott and wife, Jackie, of Atlanta, Texas,
and Dale Scott and wife, Diane, of Amarillo; his wife, her two sons, Donnie
Sellers of Lake Fork and Bobbie Sellers of Alvarado and her daughter, Nancy

She was a member of the Choctaw Nation.

Mr. Gillispie, the son of Mary Ann (Denman) and Walter Allen Gillispie, was
born Jan. 27, 1923, in Hooker, Okla. The Gillispie family moved to the family
farm near Morse. Jack graduated from Morse High School and was united in
marriage to Lela Faye Womble on Nov. 7, 1942. The family moved to Gruver in
1964. Faye passed away in 1994 and Jack moved back to Morse soon after. He was
a member of First Baptist Church of Gruver and Morse Lions Club. Jack was a
quiet and gentle man who loved farming and his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and two brothers, John
Gillispie and Ben Gillispie.

TULIA - Roy Meyer, 87, died Wednesday, March 30, 2005.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Christ Evangelical Lutheran
Church. Arrangements are by Kornerstone Funeral Directors.

Mr. Meyer was born Nov. 12, 1917, in New Britain, Conn. He moved to Tulia in
1996 and was a member of the Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Felipa of the Philippines; a daughter, Ellice
Connell of Edgewood, N.M.; a son, Allan Meyer of Atlanta; a sister, Evelyn
Meyer of Asheville, N.C.; and four grandchildren.

LONG BEACH, Calif. - Byrd Ella Crow English, 82, died Thursday, March 31,
2005, in Los Angeles.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in New Hope Baptist Church in Long Beach

Nadine Rafferty Mills

MIDLAND - Nadine Rafferty Mills, 84, died Sunday, April 3, 2005.

Memorial services will be at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, July 14, in First United
Methodist Church Fellowship Hall in Tulia. Arrangements are by Nalley-Pickle
and Welch Funeral Home.

Mrs. Mills was born July 13, 1920, in Ranger. She married Emery Mills on Nov.
21, 1941, in Silverton. She lived most of her life in Tulia, where she raised
her family. For the last 10 years, she resided in Midland to be near her son,
Larry, after living for six years in Amarillo. She was a member of the
Methodist church. An accomplished country artist, her paintings helped make
our world a more beautiful place. She was proudest of being a mother,
grandmother and great-grandmother. She had numerous close friends, some of
whom she had known for 70 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Maynard and Mayme Rafferty; and her
husband.

Survivors include three children, Sydney Vail of Rockwall, widow of Stephen
Vail, formerly of Binghamton, N.Y., Larry Mills and wife, Brenda Weeks, of
Midland and Linda O'Hara and husband, James, of Santa Fe, N.M.; three
grandsons, Kevin Janak of Houston, Adrian and Emily Mills of Dallas and
Anthony and Annamaria Mills of Midland; three great-grandchildren, Ethan and
Fisher Mills of Dallas and Madeline Zsuzsi Mills of Midland; a sister-in-law,
Frances House of Odessa; and a niece, Susan Richardson and husband, Reuben, of
Midland; and several other nieces, nephews and cousins.

GREELEY, Colo. - Mandy Sue Swartz Zulkoski, 30, died Monday, April 4, 2005.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Trinity Episcopal Church.

Mrs. Zulkoski was born March 31, 1975, in Pueblo. She married Martin Zulkoski
on June 17, 2000, in Greeley.

CLOVIS, N.M. - Jessie Ralph Burnett, 82, died Sunday, April 3, 2005.

Funeral Home.

Mr. Burnett was born May 17, 1922, in North Curry County. He married Virginia
A. Mitchell on June 21, 1941, in Clovis.

Wilburn T. "Bill" Dunlap

ROSWELL, N.M. - Wilburn T. "Bill" Dunlap, 90, died Wednesday, April 6, 2005.

Richard Grisham of the church officiating. Burial will be in South Park
Cemetery with rites by Roswell Masonic Low 12 Club. Arrangements are by

Mr. Dunlap was born April 10, 1914, in Dawson County, south of Lamesa, Texas.
He married Tommie Florence Rolston on Feb. 19, 1938.

Survivors include four children, Rochelle Goree of Amarillo, Texas, Travis
Dunlap and Bettie Corn, both of Roswell, and Robert T. Dunlap of Oveida, Fla.;
a sister, Christine Edwards of Riverside, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; and 19
great-grandchildren.

TUCUMCARI, N.M. - Naomi J. McGowen, 70, died Sunday, April 3, 2005.

Mrs. McGowen was born Feb. 17, 1935, in Mosquero. She was a member of Logan
United Methodist Church and graduated from Mosquero High School.

Survivors include her husband, Vernon; five daughters, Tanna Sue Franz of
California, Reva Lee Wolf of Albuquerque, and Bonnie Jean McGowen, Linda
McGowen and Nancy L. Freise, all of Sayre, Okla.; three sons, Michael Ray
