Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church of
Muleshoe with Dr. Stacy Connor officiating. Arrangements are by

Mrs. Pool was born May 8, 1911, in Tennyson to John William and Pearl
Hammock. The family moved to Sudan in 1922. In 1933, Jewel married the
handsome young Aggie, Lee Rogers Pool of Littlefield. They moved to
Muleshoe in 1945. Jewel and Lee were blessed with five children,
Roger, Rosemary, Charles "Buddy," Sylvia and Cynthia.

Jewel graduated from Sudan High School and attended Mary-Hardin Baylor
in Belton, where she played college basketball and was on the track
team as a sprinter and high-jumper. Jewel graduated from Texas Tech in
   1933.

Jewel taught school and was the first florist in Muleshoe, having
studied floral design in Houston at the Benz Floral Design Academy.
Jewel loved her Lord, her family, friends, flowers, travel, bridge and
   crossword puzzles.

She will always be remembered for her loving nature, sweet smile and
delightful sense of humor. She knew how to work and how to play, how
to hold on and how to let go.

After Lee died in 1983, Jewel was asked how she was doing; her
response was, "Well, if I ever figure out what's what, I'll be just
fine." Later Jewel decided what she needed to do was to "Lead on
   softly."

Jewel never relinquished her leadership role; she simply decided that
to lead effectively, for her, it must be softly. We are confident that
she now knows "What's What" and that she will continue to "Lead on
   softly."

throughout the country; and her grandchildren, great-grandchildren,
and great-great-grandchildren, Jeff Pool, Laurinda Pool, Jonathan

Jewel loved flowers, but she would be just as happy for you to donate
to the charity of your choice.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the church.
