   PAMPA  -  Julia  Frances  James, 94, formerly of Pampa died Wednesday,
   Nov. 13, 2002, in Tulsa, Okla.
   
   Services  will  be  at  2  p.m.  Friday  in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral
   Directors  Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Paul David James officiating.
   Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
   
   Mrs. James lived in Pampa since 1931, moving to Long Beach, Calif., in
   1960 and Tulsa in 1971. She was a licensed practical nurse.
   
   Survivors   include  two  daughters,  Patricia  McClintock  and  Joyce
   Hatchett,  both of Tulsa; two sons, Gene James of Pampa and Paul David
   James  of  Camas, Wash.; 22 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and
   17 great-great-grandchildren.

   PERRYTON  -  Robert  Lee  Ponder,  37,  died Monday, Nov. 11, 2002, in
   Lubbock.
   
   Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Full Gospel Church with
   the  Rev.  Michael  Waterbury officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell
   Brothers Funeral Home.
   
   Mr.  Ponder  worked as a driller in the oil fields. He was a member of
   Full Gospel Church.
   
   Survivors include two sons, Mathew Lee Ponder and Shawn Antony Ponder,
   both  of  Perryton;  his  parents,  Charles Ralph and Freeda Ponder of
   Pampa;  and  two  brothers,  Albert  Ponder of Pampa and Joe Ponder of
   Amarillo.

   CHILDRESS - James Shell Rhodes, 39, died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002.
   
   Services  will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church in

   officiating.  Burial  will  be  in  Carey Cemetery in Carey by Johnson
   Funeral Home.
   
   Mr. Rhodes was born Dec. 16, 1962, in Bristol. He was a veteran of the
   Army, 82nd airborne paratroopers.
   
   Survivors  include  his  father, John C. Rhodes Sr. of Wellington; his
   mother,  Marian F. Rhodes of Palm Springs, Calif.; two sisters, Rhonda
   J. Trent of Lubbock and Loriann Rhodes of Rancho Mirage, Calif.; and a
   brother, John C. Rhodes Jr. of Childress.

   Mrs.  Hollis was born in White Deer on Oct. 12, 1927, and was a Borger
   resident for 14 years. She was a registered nurse.
   
   Survivors  include  two daughters, Christie Roach of Eakly, Okla., and
   Cathie  Flanigan of Oklahoma City; a sister, Sue Mollette of Borger; a
   brother, Gene Jackson of Oklahoma City; seven grandchildren; and seven

   DALHART - Patsy Johnson, 74, died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002.
   
   Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery
   with   Rusty   Hancock,  pastor  of  Lincoln  Street  Baptist  Church,
   officiating. Arrangements are by Horizon Funeral Home.
   
   Mrs.  Johnson  was  born  June  8, 1928, to Thomas F. and Nancy Brewer
   Prince  in Charley. She was raised in Arlington and attended school at
   Texas School for the Blind in Austin.
   
   She  later opened a coffee shop in the GTE Building in San Angelo. She
   ran  a  magazine  counter in the Post Office lobby in Port Arthur. She
   was a member of Lincoln Street Baptist Church.
   
   She  was  preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Johnson on Sept. 4,
   2002.
   
   Survivors  include  a brother, Tom Prince and wife, Billie, of Irving;
   and  numerous  nieces  and  nephews  including Bill and Vinita Bevans,
   David and Zola Faye Johnson, Maxine Longpre and Bobbie Johnson, all of
   Dalhart.

   Mrs.  Berry  was  born  March  5, 1914, in Grapevine. She married Jack
   Berry on March 21, 1935, in Clovis, N.M.

   of  White  Deer;  two  sons,  Corky Berry of Tulia and Ray Lynn "Slim"

   Lean  Pearl  Cox,  75,  of  Amarillo  died  Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002, in
   Martindale.
   
   Services  will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Rector Funeral Home Chapel, 2800
   S.  Osage  St.,  with  Dr.  G.A.  Roach,  pastor  of Community Chapel,
   officiating. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum.
   
   Mrs.  Cox  was  born in Vici, Okla. She moved to Amarillo in 1962 from
   Woodward, Okla. She worked as a beautician for many years, retiring in
   1969.  She  and her husband, Ted, helped foster children for more than
   20 years.
   
   She  married  Everett C. Sheble in 1946. He died in 1953. In 1969, she
   married Ted Cox. He died in 1993.
   
   Survivors include two sons, Everett C. Sheble and Matt Sheble, both of
   Martindale;  a  stepson,  Bill Cox of Mesquite; three sisters, Lucille
   Howland  and  Clara  Mansfield,  both  of  Woodward,  and  Ann Oard of
   Abilene; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

   Kent   Clark,  45,  of  Amarillo  died  Tuesday,  Nov.  12,  2002,  in
   Alamogordo, N.M.
   
   Memorial  services  will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Memorial Park Funeral
   Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40.
   
   Mr.  Clark  was  born  in  Amarillo on Aug. 10, 1957, to Don and Toney
   Clark.  He  was a lifelong resident of Amarillo until recently when he
   relocated to Alamogordo.
   
   He  graduated in 1975 from Tascosa High School. He worked for 20 years
   at   Owens-Corning.   He  recently  graduated  from  Amarillo  College
   Radiation  Therapy  Program  and  was  employed  by  Alamogordo Cancer
   Center.
   
   Survivors  include  his  parents  of  Amarillo;  his  wife, Shelagh; a
   daughter,  Erica  Clark  of  Amarillo;  two  sisters, Patti Crawley of
   Amarillo and Robbie Duhon of Allen; two nieces; and two nephews.

   Mrs. Bradley was born in Tulia and lived in Amarillo most of her life.
   She  married Homer Bradley in 1954 at Happy. She and her husband owned
   and operated Amarillo Pest Control from 1980 to 1986. She was a member
   of St. Stephens United Methodist Church.
   
   She was preceded in death by her husband in 1998.
   
   Survivors  include a daughter, Malia Bradley of Amarillo; a son, Danny
   Bradley  and wife, Annie, of Amarillo; two brothers, Robert Vaughan of
   Santa  Fe,  N.M.,  and  Bill  Vaughan  and wife, Wanda, of Amarillo; a
   grandson,  Casey  Bird and wife, Bonnie, of Amarillo; a granddaughter,
   Shanna  Parks  and husband, Chuck, of Amarillo; a great-granddaughter,
   Cammie  Jean Bird of Amarillo; two great-grandsons, Kaden Daniel Parks

   Mrs. Wilhite married Bill Wilhite on June 2, 1951, in Clovis, N.M. She
   was a member of San Jacinto Baptist Church for more than 50 years.

   Larsen  and  husband,  Bill,  all  of Amarillo; a son, Rod Wilhite and

   Jeanie B. Williams, 51, of Amarillo died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002.

   Mrs.  Williams  was  born  Aug.  12,  1951, in Surigao City, Mindinao,
   Philippines,  to  Rosario  and  Leonardo  Barahan and was the third of
   eight children. She married Larry W. Williams Jr. on Aug. 10, 1986, in
   Amarillo.
   
   Mrs.   Williams   worked   as   a   telemarketing   customer   service
   representative  for SITEL Corp. for four and a half years. Previously,
   she  worked for Amarillo Club and Golden Chopsticks. When she lived in
   Waco,  she  worked  for  the  Lam family at the Cathay House. When she
   lived in Houston, she worked for Hunan Village restaurants.
   
   Mrs. Williams was a charter member of the "Medal of Honor" Veterans of
   Foreign Wars Post No. 430, Ladies Auxiliary.
   
   Survivors  include  her  husband,  Larry  Williams the MATH Tutor; two
   sons,  Justin Williams of Dallas and Jason Williams of Amarillo; seven
   brothers  and  sisters,  all  of  the Philippines; numerous nieces and
   nephews,  all  of  the  Philippines;  her father of the Philippines; a
   cousin,  Dolores Coleman of Las Vegas; and many dear friends, too many
   to mention, but you know who you were.

   Lester A. Smith, 83, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002.
   
   Memorial  services  will  be  at  2  p.m. Friday in Polk Street United
   Methodist  Church  with  the  Rev.  Marty  Hamrick,  associate pastor,
   officiating.  Private family burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery with
   military  rites by Disabled American Veterans Chapter 26. Arrangements

   Mr.  Smith  was  born  in  Ralph Switch. He was a lifetime resident of
   Canyon until moving to Amarillo in 1994.
   
   He  joined  the  Air Force early in World War II and served as a waist
   gunner  aboard  a  B-17  over the Aleutian Islands. He returned to the
   United  States  where he underwent pilot training and later flew B-26s
   and  P-38s. He also served during the Korean conflict. He retired from
   the Air Force on March 12, 1979. He later worked as a cabinetmaker.
   
   He   was  a  member  of  Polk  Street  United  Methodist  Church,  the
   Homebuilders Sunday School Class, Retired Officers Association and the
   Air Force Association. He married Laurese Stewart on Nov. 24, 1982, in
   Amarillo.
   
   Survivors  include  his  wife;  a son, Mike McConahay; a stepdaughter,
   Christy  Blake of Canyon; a stepson, Mark Stapleton of Amarillo; and a
   brother, Wayne Smith of Dumas.

   Mattie Tressie Cearley
   
   Mattie  Tressie  Cearley, 90, formerly of Amarillo died Saturday, Nov.
   9, 2002, in Winter Garden, Fla.
   
   Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Memorial Park Cemetery.
   Memorial  services  will  be  at 11:30 a.m. in Schooler-Gordon Funeral
   Directors  Bell  Avenue Chapel, 5400 S. Bell St., with Chester O'Brien
   and Mark Love officiating.
   
   Mrs.  Cearley  was born March 31, 1912, in Alvord, one of 12 children.
   She  married  Allen  Cearley  on Nov. 16, 1929, in Waurika, Okla. They
   moved  from  Slidell  to  Amarillo  in 1942. She worked in the drapery
   department of Sears until she retired in 1972.
   
   She  and  her  husband,  Allen,  were  members  of San Jacinto Baptist
   Church,  where  they  worked in the nursery department. She was dearly
   loved  by  her  family, and her grandchildren were very special to her
   and she to them.
   
   She  and  Allen  moved  from  their  home  to an apartment in the Good
   Samaritan  Retirement  Center  (Canyons) in 1991. The residents became
   Mattie's friends and "second family" and she never forgot them.
   
   In  August  1999, she moved to Winter Garden, Fla., and lived with her
   daughter and son-in-law, Imogene and Dub Bryant. She lived there until
   her death. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Winter Garden.
   
   She  was  preceded  in  death  by her husband of 67 years on April 10,
   1996; two sisters; and four brothers.
   
   Survivors   include  three  children,  Douglas  and  wife,  Clara,  of
   Amarillo,  Imogene Bryant and husband, Dub, of Winter Garden and Butch
   and  wife,  Barbara,  of  Tyler; four sisters, Burtis McKinney of Fort
   Worth,  Euvela  Jones  of  Lewisville,  Helen McKinney of Decatur, and
   Melba  Jo  Siegmund  and  husband,  Ray,  of Fort Stockton; a brother,
   Jasper Sipes and wife, Dorthy, of Salt Lake City; 22 grandchildren; 28
   great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

   Mr.  Hulsey was born in Asher, Okla. He moved to Amarillo in 1938 from
   Ardmore, Okla. He served in the Navy during World War II. He worked as
   a  electrician  for 39 years and retired from Bryant Electric in 1977.
   He  was  a  50-year  member of International Brotherhood of Electrical
   Workers and was also a member of Southlawn Baptist Church.
   
   He  was  preceded  in death by his first wife, Harriet Dowd Hulsey, in
   1968; and his second wife, Lois Wiletta Hulsey, in 2000.
   
   Survivors  include  a  daughter,  Linda  Franks  and  husband, Tom, of
   Amarillo;  a  son,  Art  Hulsey and wife, Geri, of Amarillo; a sister,
   Meryl  Porolcyk of Spokane, Wash.; a brother, Dale Hulsey of Amarillo;
   four     stepchildren;    and    numerous    grandchildren;    several

   Goodwell High School in 1941.

   Mrs. Clark-Brock was a native of Amarillo, Texas. She was the daughter
   of  Joyce Elmore Clark of Amarillo and the late Harold John Clark. She
   was  a  1969  graduate  of  Amarillo  High  School and was employed by
   Spartanburg Department of Social Services in Greer.
   
   She  volunteered  for  Amarillo  Girl  Scouts,  once  was president of
   Amarillo  Foster Parent Association and was a foster parent. She was a
   loving wife, daughter, sister, mother, granny and most of all a friend
   to many.
   
   Survivors  include  her  mother;  her  husband,  Michael  Ernest;  two
   daughters,  Micki Joyce Michelle Patton and husband, Jim, of O'Fallon,
   Ill.,  and  Dani Lee Shannon Couch and husband, Eric, of Fulton, N.Y.;
   two  sons,  Harold  John Clark Fields and wife, Shellie, of Liverpool,
   N.Y.,  and  Kenneth Gregory Byron Fields and wife, Sheena, of Greer; a

   Mrs.  Glenn  was  born  Sept. 30, 1919, in Mart, Texas, to Lynn R. and
   Stella Cashion Phillips. She was a Baptist.
   
   Survivors  include  a daughter, Donna Bessey of Indian Head; a sister,
   Bobbie    Knox   of   Amarillo,   Texas;   a   grandson;   and   three
   great-grandchildren.

   Cheryl B. Quisenberry
   
   INDEPENDENCE, Kan. - Cheryl B. Quisenberry, 57, died Tuesday, Nov. 12,
   2002.
   
   Rosary  followed  by  Mass  will  be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Andrew's
   Catholic   Church   with   the   Rev.  Stephen  Mahn  Thapwa,  pastor,
   officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery by Potts Chapel.
   
   Mrs.  Quisenberry was born July 20, 1945, in Groom, Texas. She married
   James P. Quisenberry on June 12, 2002, in Miami, Okla.
   
   Survivors  include  her  husband;  three  sons, Duane Howard Schaub of
   Independence,  and  Derek Troy Schuab and Aaron Eugene Schaub, both of
   Tulsa,  Okla.;  two  brothers, Eugene Weinheimer of Colombia, Mo., and
   Jerome   Weinheimer   of  Groom;  five  sisters,  Carolyn  Madison  of
   Washington,  Janice  Cooper  of  Austin, Texas, Monica Roden of Pampa,
   Texas,  Martha Samples of Groom and Diana Vandergriff of Chico, Texas;
   and six grandchildren.
   
   The  family  suggests memorials be to St. Andrew's Catholic Church; or
   Independence AA and will be accepted at the funeral home.
