   DUMAS  -  Charlie  Overton,  76,  died  Thursday,  Jan.  10,  2002, in
   Amarillo.
   
   Services  will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Presbyterian Church with
   the  Rev.  Eddie  Tubbs,  pastor  of  First  Baptist  Church in Dumas,
   officiating.  Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens by Morrison
   Funeral Directors.
   
   Mr.  Overton was born April 16, 1925, in Holdenville, Okla. He retired
   as  a building contractor in 1979. He married Billie Davis on Dec. 20,
   1945, in Borger.
   
   He  was  a  member  of First Presbyterian Church where he served as an
   elder  and  was  building  and  grounds  chairman.  He  developed  the
   Overton-Martindale  Addition  in  Dumas.  He served in the Navy during
   World War II. He was a Dumas resident since 1953.
   
   Survivors  include  his  wife; two daughters, Karen Owens and husband,
   Jim,  and  Kriste  Martindale  and  husband, Bobby, all of Dumas; four
   grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
   
   The   family   suggests  memorials  be  to  Charles  Overton  Memorial
   Scholarship  Fund in care of First Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 1118,
   Dumas, TX 79029.

   HEREFORD - Alice Eades, 59, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002.
   
   Services  will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with the
   Rev.  Terry  Cosby  and Davis Johnson officiating. Burial will be at 9
   a.m.  Monday  in  Dallas/Fort  Worth  National  Cemetery  in Dallas by
   Parkside Chapel Funeral Home.
   
   Mrs.  Eades was born Jan. 25, 1942, in Sherman, the daughter of Robert
   and  Thelma  Cranford.  She  married  Roger  Eades on June 5, 1982, in
   Dallas and they have lived in Hereford for more than 19 years. She was
   the  co-owner  of  Plains Insurance Agency in Hereford since 1990. She
   belonged  to  PEO  Sisterhood  of  Hereford,  American  Legion Women's
   Auxiliary and was a lifetime Girl Scout.
   
   She  served  on the board of United Way, she was the Big Sister of the
   Year,  served on the board of Boy Scouts of America annual fund-raiser
   and  served  on the board of Big Brothers and Big Sisters Council. She
   was a Sunday school teacher and a member of First Baptist Church.
   
   Survivors  include  her  husband;  two  daughters, Sholana McDonald of
   Dallas  and  Julie Klimenko of Hereford; five sons, David Johnson, Ron
   Johnson, Wesley Chumley and Jeff Eades, all of Dallas, and Jason Eades
   of  San  Francisco;  three brothers, Harold Cranford of Sherman, Jerry
   Cranford   of   Whitesboro   and   Larry   Jay  of  Bulverde;  and  11
   grandchildren.
   
   The family suggests memorials be to Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Girl

   Funeral Home of Spearman.
   
   Mr. Cook was a member of First Baptist Church. He married Nelda Dozier
   in 1962.
   
   He was a preceded in death by his wife in 1990.

   Cook,  both  of  Baxter  Springs,  Kan.;  two  daughters, Lois Cruz of

   CLARENDON - Douglas Scott Frohwein, 36, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002.
   
   Services  will  be  at 10 a.m. today in Martin Baptist Church with the
   Rev. Darrell Burton officiating.
   
   Mr. Frohwein was born Nov. 1, 1965, to Gerald and Janice Lock Frohwein
   in  Nevada,  Iowa.  He  lived in Zearing, Iowa, his first 12 years. In
   Lake  City,  Minn.,  he  graduated  from  high  school in 1984 and was
   married  to  Lisa VanHouten on Aug. 2, 1986. They had two children. He
   has lived in El Paso and Chaparral, N.M.
   
   He  married  Christina  Anne  Frohwein  on  May  15,  1998,  and has a
   stepdaughter. They lived on the Double Diamond Ranch in Clarendon. His
   love  was  raising  and  riding  horses.  He  worked with his father's
   trucking  business  and enjoyed body shop work over the years. He will
   be  greatly  missed by all of his extended family and friends who knew
   him.
   
   He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond and Myrtle Lock.
   
   Survivors  include his wife; his stepdaughter, Ashley Anne Graves; two
   children,  Scott and Analisa, both of Wyoming, Minn.; his parents; two
   brothers, Darren of Austin, Minn., and Daniel of Grimes, Iowa; and his
   grandparents, Glen and Jane Frohwein of Zearing.

   Mrs.  McFarlin  was  born  March 16, 1912, in Puckett, Miss. She was a
   homemaker.  She was a member of Bible Baptist Church. She was a former
   member  of  Woodsmen  of  the  World.  She  was a Dumas resident since
   October 1955.
   
   She  was  preceded  in death by her husband, Robert L. McFarlin Sr. in
   1987;  a  grandson, Greg McFarlin in 1972; and a granddaughter, Sherry
   West Snow in 1986.
   
   Survivors  include  two sons, Mike McFarlin of Dumas and R.L. McFarlin
   and  wife,  Kaye, of Spearman; two daughters, Eloise West and husband,

   Mr. Bourlon married Dorris Sevier on Dec. 18, 1943, in Littlefield. He

   Mrs. Cole was born March 27, 1923, in Claude, Texas, to the late Emery

   School and was a member of Claude High School Alumni Association.
   
   She  was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Wayne Cole
   in 1979.

   Mr.  Mullins  was born in Roger Mills County, Okla., to Mac and Salley
   Blaylock  Mullins.  He  was  a  former  longtime farmer in the Butler,
   Okla., area.
   
   He  married Emma Jane Waters on Dec. 24, 1941, in Cheyenne, Okla. They
   celebrated  their 60th wedding anniversary this past Christmas Eve. He
   was  a  member  of the Methodist Church. They came to Amarillo in 1956
   and he was a mechanic for the city of Amarillo until his retirement in
   January 1983.
   
   Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ralph Mullins and Frank Mullins,
   both  of  Amarillo;  a  brother,  Tim  Mullins of Arapaho, Okla.; four
   sisters,  Agnes  Lowry of Canute, Okla., Leona Byford of Yukon, Okla.,

   Lt.  Col.  Briggs  married  Anna  G. Thompson Briggs in 1944 in Gibson
   City,  Ill.  He  moved  to  Amarillo  in  1958 from Champaign, Ill. He
   retired  in 1967 as a lieutenant colonel from the Air Force after more
   than  24  years  of  service.  He was a member of VFW Post No. 430 and
   American Legion. He was a veteran of World War II and Korea.

   daughters,  Pat  Dallke and husband, Glenn, and Debra "Debbie" Briggs,

   great-granddaughter,  Norie Faye Marshall of Dallas; four sisters, her
   twin  sister, Maye Purcell, Betty Walker and Margaret Clements, all of
   Roswell,  and  Vickie Larson of Arizona; two brothers, Sammy Herron of
   Lubbock and Charles Herron of Odessa; and 31 nieces and nephews.

   James V. Herring Sr.
   
   James V. Herring Sr., 65, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002.
   
   Graveside  services  will be at 4 p.m. today in Memorial Park Cemetery
   with  Bob  Thomas  of Crown of Texas Hospice officiating. Arrangements
   are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.
   
   Mr. Herring was a very loving husband, father and grandfather. He will
   be dearly missed by his family and friends.
   
   Survivors  include  his  wife,  Mary; two daughters, Teresa Martin and
   Barbara  Brown, both of Amarillo; three sons, James Vernon Herring Jr.
   and  Franklin  T.  Herring, both of Amarillo, and Robert D. Herring of
   Kansas;  two  sisters,  Ilaree  Catt of Oklahoma and Clara Mae Ober of
   Longview;  two  brothers,  W.R.  Herring  and Winston Herring, both of
   Houston; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

   Louis B. Saied
   
   Louis B. Saied, 78, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002.
   
   Services  will  be  at 2 p.m. today in Central Church of Christ Chapel
   with  Dick  Marcear  officiating.  Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by
   Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.
   
   Mr.  Saied was born in Healdton, Okla. He was a respected business man
   in  the Panhandle area who owned clothing stores beginning in Memphis.
   He  moved  to  Perryton  in 1959 and lived there for 22 years. He then
   moved  to  Amarillo  in  1981.  He  owned clothing stores in Perryton,
   Pampa,  Plainview  and Amarillo. He was a Mason. He married Kay Anglin
   in Las Vegas on April 3, 1993.
   
   He  was preceded in death by his first wife, Dollie Saied; a daughter;
   two brothers; and a sister.
   
   Survivors  include  his  wife; two daughters, Georgia Kay Coon and Lou
   Carol Conley, both of Amarillo; a son, Steven Louis Saied of Amarillo;
   two stepsons, Shawn Eastep and Christopher Eastep, both of Amarillo; a
   sister,   Najla   Saied   of   Childress;   11  grandchildren;  and  a
   great-grandchild.
   
   The  family  suggests  memorials  be  to  American Kidney Fund of West

   Rilla Bresenham Jarrett
   
   Rilla Bresenham Jarrett, 90, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002.
   
   Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Park Place Towers with
   Dr.  Strauss Atkinson, retired minister, officiating. Arrangements are
   by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle.
   
   Mrs.  Jarrett  was  born in Thornton and grew up in Abilene. She was a
   graduate of McMurry. She had lived in San Diego for 35 years where she
   had  been  a  high  school  math  teacher and a mathematician for Ryan
   Aircraft. She moved to Amarillo in 1995. She was a member of San Diego
   United Methodist Church. She married Larry Jarrett on June 2, 1939, in
   Las Cruces, N.M.
   
   Survivors   include   her  husband;  a  brother,  Elton  Bresenham  of
   Knoxville,  Tenn.;  six  nieces,  Mary  Godfrey, Nancy Boswell, Vickie
   Teters, Georgia Fisher, Cathie Cody and Cherrie McKitterick; and three
   nephews, Jack Bresenham, Dick Bresenham and Damon Bresenham.

   Alice Juanita James
   
   Alice Juanita James, 76, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002.
   
   Services  will be at 3 p.m. today in Llano Cemetery Mausoleum with the
   Rev.  Milton Jackson of River Road Fellowship officiating. Burial will
   be  in  Llano Cemetery East by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Martin
   Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road.
   
   Mrs. James was born in Wylie and raised in Amarillo. She married Rubin
   James  in  1947.  She  moved to Amarillo 23 years ago from Las Animas,
   Colo. She was a homemaker, loving mother and devout Christian.
   
   Survivors  include  two daughters, Judy Tapia of Dodge City, Kan., and
   Marcella  Mulherin  of Amarillo; a son, Rubin James of Cleburne; three
   sisters,  Mattie  Wright,  Norene  Palmar  and  Irene Ricketts, all of
   Amarillo; and seven grandchildren.

   Doug Erwin
   
   Services  will  be  at  2  p.m.  Saturday in Valley View Church of the
   Nazarene  with  Doug  Srader and the Rev. Philip Daniels, officiating.
   Burial  will  be in Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors by the
   Naval  Reserve  Force  from  New Orleans. Arrangements are by Schooler
   Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.
   
   Mr.  Erwin  was  born Aug. 20, 1955, in Liberal, Kan. He served in the
   Navy   during  Vietnam.  He  married  Maria  Santos  in  1975  in  the
   Philippines. He owned Northstar Religious Books and Gifts in Amarillo.
   He  was  a  foreman  at  Amarillo  Lumber  for 15 years. He was a good
   Christian man.
   
   Survivors  include  his  wife;  two  daughters,  Jennifer Phinisee and
   husband,  Jenero,  of  Dallas, Kasandra Erwin of Amarillo; a son, D.J.
   Erwin  of Okinawa, Japan; his mother, Wynona Erwin of Woodward, Okla.;
   a  sister, Shelley Warner of Woodward; three brothers, Darrell Webb of
   Sharon,  Okla.,  Clark  Erwin  of  Branson,  Mo.,  and  Jerry Erwin of
   Minnesota; and a grandchild, Talen Erwin.

   J.F. "Floyd" Berryman
   
   J.F. "Floyd" Berryman, 86, of Amarillo died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002.
   
   Services  will be at 2 p.m. today in Southwest Baptist Church with the
   Rev.  Alan Ford, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery
   by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40.
   
   Mr.  Berryman was born Jan. 9, 1916, in Ponotoc County, Okla. He was a
   longtime  resident  of  the  Amarillo  area. He worked for Pantex as a
   quality  control  inspector,  retiring  in March 1984 with 32 years of
   service.
   
   He  was  a  member of Southwest Baptist Church and Senior Adult Sunday
   school  class.  He  married  Mildred on July 21, 1944, in Amarillo. He
   coached baseball, umpired for Kids, Inc. and was an avid golfer.
   
   He  was  preceded  in  death  by his wife in December 1996; a brother,
   Glenn Berryman; and two sisters, Lucille Cope and Nadine.
   
   Survivors  include  three sons, Jim Berryman and Bob Berryman, both of
   Amarillo,  and Steve Berryman of Dallas; two brothers, Nathan Berryman
   of  Tulsa,  Okla.,  and  Ewell Berryman of California; five grandsons;
   three great-granddaughters; and two great-grandsons.
   
   The  family  suggests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice or
   Harrington Cancer Center.
