   BORGER - Cora Jane Yeager, 87, died Friday, April 17, 1998.
   
   Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Minton/Chatwell Funeral
   Directors Memorial Chapel with Richard Kasko, minister of the Church
   of Christ, officiating. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday
   in Lakeland Hills Memorial Park in Burnet with Joe Winnette
   officiating.
   
   Mrs. Yeager was born in Ratcliff. She had been a Borger resident for
   10 years, moving from Marble Falls.
   
   She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ, Order of the
   Eastern Star, Rebekah Lodge and Grandmothers Club.
   
   She married E.O. Yeager in 1930 at Crockett. He died in 1987.
   
   Survivors include two sons, Billy O. Yeager of Sidney, Mont., and
   Bobby P. Yeager of Clinton, Okla.; two daughters, Sue Pipkin of Byers,
   Colo., and Rebekah Murley of Fritch; nine grandchildren; 18
   great-grandchildren; and a great-greatgranddaughter.
   
   Marissa Kay Moxon
   PAMPA - Marissa Kay Moxon, infant daughter of Monica Moxon, died
   Thursday, April 16, 1998.
   
   Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Monday in Fairview Cemetery with
   the Rev. Delbert White, pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church,
   officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
   
   Marissa was born April 16 in Pampa.
   
   Survivors include her mother; grandparents, Kevin and Jill Moxon of
   Pampa; and great-grandparents, Irene and Harvey Oatman of Clarendon,
   and Tom and Sheryl Reames of Pampa.
   
   D.M. Painter
   EDMONSON - Dwayne Murel Painter, 73, died Thursday, April 16, 1998.
   
   Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with the Rev.
   Rush Coffman, pastor of First Baptist Church at Anton, officiating.
   Burial was in Parklawn Memorial Gardens at Plainview by Wood-Dunning
   Funeral Home of Plainview.
   
   Mr. Painter was born in Oklahoma City. He moved from Oklahoma to
   Edmonson in 1928. He lived in Dallas from 1971 to 1988, when he moved
   back to Edmonson.
   
   He was a farmer until 1969. He then worked as a carpenter until
   retiring in 1988. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member
   of First Baptist Church and Local No. 429 Carpenters Union.
   
   Mr. Painter married Pat Pace in 1946 at Athens, Texas.
   
   Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Susan Schwab of Lubbock; a
   son, Tommy Painter of Edmonson; a brother, Albert Painter of Edmonson;
   five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
   
   Lyle Halliburton
   BOOKER - Lyle Halliburton, 86, died Thursday, April 16, 1998.
   
   Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the
   Rev. Brent Farney officiating. Burial will be in Heart Cemetery by
   Good Samaritan Funeral Service.
   
   Mr. Halliburton was born near Turpin, Okla. When he was 14, he moved
   with his family to Booker, where he graduated from high school. He
   worked on the family farm and later started his own cattle and
   ranching business.
   
   He married Della Garton in 1939 at Perryton. They made their home on a
   farm south of Booker until moving into Booker in 1981.
   
   Mr. Halliburton was a member of First Baptist Church.
   
   Survivors include his wife; two sons, L.G. Halliburton of Booker and
   Wesley Halliburton of Follett; a daughter, Ida Wilson of Lebo, Kan.;
   11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
   
   The family requests memorials be to Hospice of Perryton.
   
   Mildred May Gillespie
   WELLINGTON - Mildred May Gillespie, 89, formerly of Wellington, died
   Thursday, April 16, 1998, in Stanton.
   
   Graveside services were at 1 p.m. Saturday in Fairview Cemetery with
   the Rev. Jim Ikner, pastor of Church of the Nazarene, officiating.
   Arrangements were by Adams Funeral Home.
   
   Ms. Gillespie was born in Wayne County, Ky. She moved with her family
   from Kentucky to Wellington in 1910. She was a member of Church of the
   Nazarene.
   
   Survivors include nieces and nephews.
   
   Eldred W. James
   HAPPY - Eldred W. James, 53, died Friday, April 17, 1998.
   
   Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Brooks Funeral Directors Chapel
   in Happy with the Rev. Lonny Poe, pastor of First Baptist Church,
   officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Groom
   Cemetery at Groom.
   
   Mr. James was born in Groom and graduated from Groom High School in
   1962. He was in the farming business while in Groom.
   
   In 1971, he moved to Dumas and got into the trucking business. He
   moved to Perryton in 1972 and then to Happy, where he had lived for 20
   years. He was employed by Baldwin Trucking of Amarillo.
   
   Mr. James married Lynne Watson in 1965 at Groom.
   
   Survivors include his wife; two sons, Patrick Neal James of Pampa and
   Phillip Wayne James of Fort Hood; his mother, Ruth James of Groom; and
   two granddaughters.
   
   The family requests memorials be to the American Heart Association,

   Norma M. Wheaton
   STINNETT - Norma M. Wheaton, 93, died Friday, April 17, 1998.
   
   Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in First Christian Church in
   Stinnett with the Rev. Billy Holland, pastor, officiating. Burial will
   be at 3 p.m. Monday in Hugoton Cemetery in Hugoton, Kan., by Brown
   Funeral Directors of Borger.
   
   Mrs. Wheaton was a native of Raymond, Ill., and had been a resident of
   Stinnett for 37 years. She was a graduate of Friends University in
   Wichita, Kan., and was a retired high school teacher. She was a member
   of First Christian Church and Order of the Eastern Star.
   
   She married J.R. "Bob" Wheaton who died in 1978.
   
   Survivors include special friends, Robert and Marjorie Fuller of
   Garden City, Kan.; a sister-in-law, Alice Magro of Stanford, Fla.; and
   several nieces and nephews.

   Irene Urbanczyk Dziuk
   HEREFORD - Irene Urbanczyk Dziuk, 87, died Friday, April 17, 1998.
   
   A Christian mothers' rosary will be at 4 p.m. today. Rosary services
   will be at 7 p.m. today in Rose Chapel. Services will be at 11 a.m.
   Monday in St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Monsignor Orville Blum,
   pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery
   by Gililland-Watson Funeral Home.
   
   Mrs. Dziuk was born in Rhineland. She moved to Deaf Smith County in
   1939 from Panhandle. She was a homemaker and member of St. Anthony's
   Catholic Church.
   
   She married Edward Dziuk Sr. in 1931 at White Deer. She was preceded
   in death by three sons, William Dziuk in 1939, Robert Dziuk in 1974
   and Jimmy Dziuk in 1987.
   
   Survivors include her husband; three sons, Ed Dziuk Jr., Al Dziuk and
   David Dziuk, all of Hereford; a daughter, Ann Rose Stephens of
   Suquamish, Wa.; four sisters, Theresa Kotara of White Deer, Edna
   Reinart and Leona Mazurek, both of Hereford, and Ethel Stengel of
   Amarillo; a brother, Tony Urbanczyk of Hereford; 11 grandchildren; and
   11 great-grandchildren.
   
   Monta C. Taylor
   PAMPA - Monta C. Taylor, 92, died Friday, April 17, 1998.
   
   Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in First Christian Church with the
   Rev. Darrell Evans, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview
   Cemetery by CarmichaelWhatley Funeral Directors.
   
   Mrs. Taylor was born in Van Alstyne. She had been a resident of Pampa
   most of her life, graduating from Pampa High School. Since 1926, she
   had been a member of the Wayside Club, First Christian Church and the
   Builders Sunday School class.
   
   She married W.F. "Bill" Taylor in 1926 at Pampa. He died in 1973.
   
   Survivors include two daughters, Marjie Rogers of Pampa and Lynn
   Bowermon of Harrisburg, Pa.; a son, Leon Taylor of Pampa; two sisters,
   Mrs. Floyd Mathis of Hooker, Okla., and Mrs. Bill Inman of Dallas; six
   grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

   Bess Eldredge
   BORGER - Bess Eldredge, 75, died Saturday, April 18, 1998.
   
   Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Fairlanes Baptist Church with
   the Rev. Art McAninch, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Highland
   Park Cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors of Borger.
   
   Mrs. Eldredge was a native of Grandfield, Okla., and had been a
   resident of Borger for 62 years. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
   
   She married Bud Eldredge in 1965 at Borger.
   
   Survivors include her husband; two sons, Glen Eldredge of Fort Worth
   and Dale Eldredge of Pasadena; three daughters, La Juana White and
   Sharron Rogers, both of Garland and Barbara Dolan of Heber Springs,
   Ark.; a brother, Don Mashburn of Borger; a sister, Charlene Woods of
   Skellytown; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

   Erma L. Boyd
   PAMPA - Erma L. Boyd, 90, died Saturday, April 18, 1998.
   
   Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Fairview Cemetery with
   the Rev. M.B. Smith, Baptist minister, officiating. Arrangements are
   by CarmichaelWhatley Funeral Directors.
   
   Mrs. Boyd was born in Perry, Mo. She had been a resident of Pampa
   since 1963. She was a homemaker and member of Highland Baptist Church.
   
   She married James Thomas Boyd Sr. in 1929 at Perry. He died in 1965.
   She also was preceded in death by a son, James Thomas Boyd Jr.
   
   Survivors include three daughters, Virginia Polk of Pampa, Carol Sue
   Martin of Sacramento, Calif., and Dollie Alice Young of Lynchburg,
   Va.; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
   
   Thelma Cupp
   PLAINVIEW - Thelma Cupp, 95, died Friday, April 17 1998.
   
   Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Northside Baptist Church with the
   Rev. Glen Smith, retired pastor of First Baptist Church in Sundown,
   and the Rev. Truman Johnson, pastor of Broadview Baptist Church in
   Lubbock, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by
   Lemons Funeral Home.
   
   Mrs. Cupp was born in Waxahachie. She moved to Sweetwater, Okla., as a
   child then graduated from high school in Shawnee, Okla., in 1924. She
   moved to Earth in 1934 and to Plainview in 1948 where she was employed
   by several businesses as a clerk and a secretary. In 1992, she moved
   to San Angelo then moved to Levelland in 1995.
   
   Mrs. Cupp was a charter member of both Parkview Baptist Church and
   Northside Baptist Church in Plainview. She served as a teacher and
   youth leader. In 1992, she was nominated for Pioneer Woman of the
   Year. She received many awards and recognitions for her volunteer work
   in nursing homes.
   
   She married Claude Marion Cupp in 1925. He died in 1959. She also was
   preceded in death by a son, Billy Ray Cupp, in 1978.
   
   Survivors include five daughters, Claudia Cox of Weatherford, Doris
   Brown of Olympia, Wash., Bonnie Reid of Mill Valley, Calif., Faye
   Smith of Sundown and Wynona Krise of Anchorage, Alaska; three sisters;
   15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and three great-great
   grandchildren.
   
   Visitation will be from noon until service time Monday at the church.

   David Franklin Stephenson
   LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. - David Franklin Stephenson, 44, died Thursday,
   April 16, 1998, in Frankfort, Ky.
   
   Services were at 1 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church at
   Skellytown, Texas, with the Rev. Fines Marchman, pastor, officiating.
   Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery at Pampa, Texas, by
   Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.
   
   Mr. Stephenson was born in Glendale, Ariz. He graduated from White
   Deer High School at White Deer, Texas, in 1971. He lived in Skellytown
   for many years before moving to Kentucky.
   
   He was a helicopter pilot, serving nine years with the 82nd Airborne.
   He was involved in a medical study of free-falling for the Army.
   
   While living in Kentucky, he worked for Florida Tile Co. He was
   Baptist.
   
   Survivors include two daughters, Heather Ennis and Rachel Stephenson,
   both of Houston, Texas; parents, Bill and Billie Stephenson of
   Skellytown; a sister, Lynda Truelove of The Colony, Texas; two
   brothers, Randy Stephenson of Dalhart, Texas, and Danny Stephenson of
   Florence, Colo.; his grandmother, Julia Stephenson of Skellytown; and
   a granddaughter.
   
   The family requests memorials be to a favorite charity or to the First
   Baptist Church of Skellytown youth fund.
   
   Zell Spann Sarsfield
   MUNDAY - Zell Spann Sarsfield, 74, a former Munday resident, died
   Thursday, April 16, 1998, in West Helena, Ark.
   
   Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Saturday in Johnson Memorial
   Cemetery with the Rev. William Sterling officiating. Arrangements were
   by McCauleySmith Funeral Home Inc.
   
   Ms. Sarsfield was born in Munday. She moved from Abilene to Clarendon
   in 1993. She moved to West Helena this year.
   
   She was a salesperson and a member of Abilene First United Methodist
   Church.
   
   Survivors include two brothers, Joe Crawford Spann of Clarendon and
   Sam Spann of Munday; and her stepmother, Dorothy Spann of Munday.
   
   Foy Leona Bilbrey Derryberry
   MORTON - Foy Leona Bilbrey Derryberry, 77, of Lubbock, formerly of
   Morton, died Thursday, April 16, 1998.
   
   Graveside services were at 4 p.m. Saturday in Morton Memorial Cemetery
   with the Rev. Gordon Renshaw, pastor of First Missionary Baptist
   Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Ellis Funeral Home.
   
   Mrs. Derryberry was born in Floydada. She was a member of First
   Baptist Church of Morton. She was a medication aide at Morton Manor
   Nursing Home for several years.
   
   She had lived in Lubbock since 1988, moving from Morton.
   
   Survivors include her husband, John Derryberry; three sons, Banty
   Bilbrey of Lubbock, Jimmy Bilbrey of Montague and Everett Bilbrey of
   Houston; a daughter, Troy Price of Lubbock; a sister, Beulah Woods of
   Apple Valley, Calif.; a brother, Garland Choate of Odessa; 10
   grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
   
   Bettye Baggett
   LEVELLAND - Bettye Baggett, 76, died Thursday, April 16, 1998.
   
   Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday in George C. Price Funeral Directors
   Chapel with Keith Cormier, minister of Austin Street Church of Christ,
   officiating. Burial was in the city of Levelland cemetery.
   
   Mrs. Baggett was born in Dawson. She moved to Levelland in 1944 from
   Corsicana. She was a homemaker and a member of Austin Street Church of
   Christ.
   
   She married H.P. "Bo" Baggett in 1940.
   
   Survivors include her husband; two sons, Larry Baggett of Levelland
   and Ron B. Baggett of Amarillo; a daughter, Nanci Baggett of Round
   Rock; three sisters, Lura Brown of San Marcos, Dorothy Shaw of Lubbock
   and Mary Ruth Watson of Tampa, Fla.; five grandchildren; and five
   great-grandchildren.

   Johnnie Henry Foster
   LUBBOCK - Johnnie Henry Foster, 92, died Tuesday, April 14, 1998.
   
   Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Central Baptist Church in Clovis
   with Dr. Herbert Bergstrom officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Haven
   Memorial Gardens by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis, N.M.
   
   Mr. Foster was born in Sparks, Okla. His family homesteaded in Curry
   County in 1907. He farmed in Rosedale and Hollene communities. He was
   a member of Rosedale Baptist Church.
   
   Survivors include a daughter, Jonnye December of Lubbock; two sons,
   Frank Foster of Albuquerque and Artie Foster of Huntington Beach,
   Calif.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

   Norman D. Enns
   GUYMON, Okla. - Norman D. Enns, 75, died Friday April 17, 1998.
   
   Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Victory Memorial United
   Methodist Church with Mike Chaffin and Shannon Davis, pastors,
   officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery by Bunch-Roberts
   Funeral Home of Guymon.
   
   Mr. Enns was born in Hutchinson, Kan., and grew up in Buhler, Kan.,
   where he graduated from high school in 1941. He was an Army veteran of
   World War II having served in the 2nd Infantry Division. After his
   1945 discharge, he moved to Guymon.
   
   Mr. Enns retired in 1982 from farming and ranching. He was a member of
   the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and a lifetime
   member of the 2nd Infantry Division.
   
   He married Velma Martins in 1946 at Inman, Kan. He was preceded in
   death by an infant daughter, Mary Beth Enns, and an infant son,
   Randall Dean Enns.
   
   Survivors include his wife; a son, Mike Enns of Guymon; a daughter,
   Connie Stelzer of Guymon; two brothers, Robert Enns of Dalhart and
   Dickey Enns of Amarillo; three sisters, Donna Chapman of Tulia, Texas,
   Betty Moore of Guymon and Patty Spoonemore of Spearman, Texas; seven
   grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

   Laura Alice Little
   PAMPA - Laura Alice Little, 81, died Saturday, April 18, 1998.
   
   Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Central Baptist Church with Dr.
   Derrell Monday, pastor, officiating. Graveside services will be at 4
   p.m. in Memory Lane Cemetery in Harrah, Okla., by Carmichael-Whatley
   Funeral Directors.
   
   Mrs. Little moved to Pampa in 1977 from Espanola, N.M. She was a
   former resident of Arizona. She was a member of Central Baptist
   Church.
   
   She married Mark Gilman Little in 1936 at Harrah. He died in 1983.
   
   Survivors include two daughters, Betty Hesco of Arlington and Linda
   Little of Santa Fe, N.M.; two sons, Curtis Little of Payson, Ariz.,
   and Glen Little of Valdez, Alaska; her mother, Florence Ferguson of
   Harrah; two sisters, Betty Grace Muzney and Jean Rice, both of
   Oklahoma City; two brothers, John Ferguson of Harrah and Milton
   Ferguson of Kansas City, Mo.; five grandchildren; and four
   greatgrandchildren.
   
   Doris Merideth
   DUMAS - Doris Merideth, 73, died Friday, April 17, 1998.
   
   Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Northlawn Memorial
   Gardens with the Rev. Mike Aiken, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church of
   Dumas, officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors.
   
   Mrs. Merideth was born in Venus. She had been a Dumas resident since
   1950 and was a former Pampa resident. She was a homemaker and member
   of Calvary Baptist Church. She was a member of Eastern Star Chapter
   653.
   
   She married J.D. "Shorty" Merideth in 1948 at Panhandle. He died in
   1990. She also was preceded in death by a son, Bryan Tracy, in 1982.
   
   Survivors include two daughters, Judi Metts of Aurora, Colo., and June
   Baer of Dumas; two sisters, Mickey Miller of Farmington, N.M., and
   Jimmie Lee of Amarillo; six grandchildren; and four
   greatgrandchildren.

   Daniel Walter Sommers
   BORGER - Daniel Walter Sommers, 48, of Sweeney, died Thursday, April
   16, 1998.
   
   Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with Dr.
   Greg Simmons officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Love at Westlawn
   Memorial Park by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
   
   Mr. Sommers was born in Borger. He graduated from Sooner High School
   in Bartlesville, Okla. He was awarded the Eagle Scout award with
   several palms. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees in
   mechanical engineering from the University of Oklahoma. He was active
   in the Baptist Student Union.
   
   Mr. Sommers was employed by J.M. Huber Corp. from 1975 until 1982. He
   was then employed by Phillips Petroleum Co., in the corporate
   engineering department at facilities in Bartlesville, Borger, Houston
   and Sweeney.
   
   Mr. Sommers was a member of several professional engineering
   organizations. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Old Ocean
   where he taught Sunday School.
   
   He married Marjorie Sweet in 1978.
   
   Survivors include his wife; a son, Jonathan Sommers of Sweeney; two
   daughters, Amy and Alissa, both of Sweeney; his mother, Dorothy
   Sommers of Bartlesville; his grandmother, Helen Sommers of Wichita,
   Kan.; a brother, Dr. Jack Sommers of Tulsa; and a sister, Susan Parker
   of San Antonio.
   
   The family will be staying at 100 Somerset. They request in lieu of

   Vera Downing
   MULESHOE - Vera Downing, 92, died Friday, April 17, 1998.

   Church of the Nazarene officiating. Burial will be in Muleshoe

   Mrs. Downing was born in Erath. She moved to Muleshoe in 1950 from
   Amherst. She was a homemaker and member of Richland Hills Baptist
   Church.
   
   She married Elmer L. Downing in 1927 at Paducah. He died in 1976.
   
   Survivors include a son, Elmer L. Downing Jr. of Muleshoe; two
   daughters, Maxine Kimbrough of Muleshoe and Betty S. White of Dalhart;
   a sister, Ethel Pierson of Stanford; 10 grandchildren; and 12
   great-grandchildren.

   Phillip Brion Buhler
   CLARENDON - Phillip Brion Buhler, 23 months, of Glidden, died
   Wednesday, April 15, 1998.
   
   Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Robertson Chapel of Memories
   with the Rev. Rob Seale, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church,
   officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon.
   
   Phillip was born in Worland, Wyo., and moved to Columbus at a year of
   age. He had been a resident of Glidden for the past 2 1/2 months.
   
   Survivors include his parents, Brandy Buhler of Glidden and Gene
   Buhler of Worland, Wyo.; his grandparents, Melvin Guinn of Memphis,
   Brion and Kerry Pasco of Columbus; and his great-grandparents, R.L.
   and Marie Norton of Memphis.
   
   The body will not be available for viewing.
   
   Raymond Ben White
   LEFORS - Raymond Ben White, 71, died Saturday, April 18, 1998.
   
   Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Lefors Church of Christ with
   Glen Walton, minister of North Amarillo Church of Christ, and the Rev.
   Lewis Ellis, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will
   be in Memorial Heights Cemetery in Lefors by Carmichael-Whatley
   Funeral Directors of Pampa.
   
   Mr. White was born in Dawson County and attended schools in Haskell.
   He worked at Tinker Field in 1944 and was a World War II veteran of
   the Army. He served in the infantry in the Philippines then toured the
   South Pacific with the Army boxing team.
   
   Mr. White was employed by the Drilling Exploration Co., in 1948 and
   sent to the Marshall Islands in 1952 to work on the first hydrogen
   bomb test. He transferred to Pampa in 1953. In 1959, he moved to
   Lefors where he opened a Western Auto store and a Texaco service
   station. He was then employed by Beta Oil Co., in 1973.
   
   Mr. White served for 30 years with the Lefors Volunteer Fire Dept., 12
   years on the city council, four years as mayor and 35 years as an
   officer of the Lefors Federal Credit Union. He served for two years on
   the board of directors of Highland General Hospital in Pampa and was
   Gray County constable for Precinct 1 for four years.
   
   Mr. White helped organize and was charter president of the Lefors
   Optimist Club. He was a member of Lefors Lions Club, Lefors Senior
   Citizens Center and Lefors Church of Christ where he served as deacon,
   elder and treasurer. Through the Optimist Club in Pampa, he was
   involved in coaching baseball and boxing.
   
   He was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Ann Fulton, in 1993,
   and three grandchildren.
   
   Survivors include his wife, Mary A. White; two daughters,
   Dolrischildren; and six great-grandchildren.
   
   The family request memorials be to High Plains Children's Home in
   Amarillo.
   
   V.E. Johns
   HALE CENTER - V.E. "Van" Johns, 73, died Saturday, April 18, 1998.
   
   Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Monday in Plainview Cemetery with
   Dr. Max Browning, pastor of First United Methodist Church of
   Plainview, officiating. Arrangements are by Lemons Funeral Home.
   
   Mr. Johns was born in Duncan, Okla. He was retired from Pantex. He was
   a Mason.
   
   Survivors include a son, Dale Johns of Amarillo; four grandchildren;
   and several great-grandchildren.

   Joseph Yocum
   Joseph "Cowboy" Yocum, 74, of Amarillo, died Thursday, April 16, 1998.
   
   Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors,
   Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road, with the Rev. Harold Hook of
   Hobart Baptist Church in Pampa and Dr. Dana Moore of Pleasant Valley
   Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Llano East Cemetery.
   
   Mr. Yocum was born in Riley, Kan. He lived in Pampa for 15 years
   before moving to Amarillo a year ago.
   
   He served with the Army during World War II. He was a self-employed
   auctioneer. He was a member of Hobart Baptist Church.
   
   Mr. Yocum married Nell Sandefer in 1965 at Altus, Okla.
   
   Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Vickie Jo Price of Grand
   Prairie; and a sister, Deana Harris of Dallas.
   
   Bernetta Margaret Campbell
   Bernetta Margaret Campbell, 81, of Amarillo, died Thursday, April 16,
   1998.
   
   A vigil will be at 7 p.m. today in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors
   Ivy Chapel, 2820 Virginia Circle, with Deacon Richard Riley
   officiating. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph's
   Catholic Church by the Rev. Neal Dee, pastor. Burial will be in Llano
   Cemetery.
   
   Mrs. Campbell was born in Mary's Home, Mo., and had lived in Amarillo
   for 42 years. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph's
   Catholic Church and St. Joseph's Veronica Circle.
   
   She was preceded in death by a son, William S. Campbell.
   
   Survivors include three sons, Tom Campbell, John F. Campbell and Jim
   Campbell, all of Amarillo; four daughters, Margaret Bynum, Lois Bynum
   and Carolyn Spencer, all of Amarillo, and Marilyn Johnson of Euless; a
   sister, Martha Love of Eldon, Mo.; 17 grandchildren; and nine
   great-grandchildren.
   
   The family will be at 4826 Camp Lane. They request memorials be to

   James R. Parrott
   James R. "Bob" Parrott, 86, of Amarillo, died Friday, April 17, 1998.
   
   Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2820
   Virginia Circle, with the Rev. Randy Davis, pastor of Olsen Park
   Baptist Church, officiating. Private burial will be in Llano Cemetery.
   
   Mr. Parrott was born in Tuscaloosa, Ala., and had lived in Amarillo
   since 1933. He retired as a conductor for the Santa Fe Railway in
   1977. He was a member of Scottish Rite, Khiva Temple, the Elks Lodge
   and Masonic Lodge No. 731 where he was an instructor. He was a
   Baptist.
   
   He was married to Doris Parrott who preceded him in death in January.
   
   Survivors include a brother, C.W. Parrott of Oceanside, Calif.; and a
   sister, Thelma McLemore of Amarillo.
   
   The family will be at 6009 Dreyfuss. They request memorials be to a
   favorite charity.
   
   Floy Lunn
   Floy Lunn, 91, of Amarillo, died Saturday, April 18, 1998.
   
   Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Memorial Park Cemetery
   by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St.
   
   Mrs. Lunn was born in Hollis, Okla., and moved to Amarillo in 1940.
   She retired in 1972 as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell. She
   was a member of West Amarillo Church of Christ and Amarillo Chapter of
   Telephone Pioneers.
   
   She married Beryl Lunn in 1927 at Hollis. He died in 1958. She also
   was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Lunn.
   
   Survivors include a brother, Charlie Lewis of Hollis; a granddaughter,
   Brenda Cowley of Albuquerque, N.M.; a greatgrandson; and numerous
   nieces and nephews.

   Bertha Mae Savage
   Bertha Mae Snodgrass Savage, 98, of Amarillo, died Saturday, April 18,
   1998.
   
   Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Llano Cemetery with
   Dr. Howard K. Batson of First Baptist Church, officiating.
   Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St.
   
   Mrs. Savage was born in Floydada and moved to Amarillo in 1926. She
   was the owner of Black-Stone Drug. She was a member of First Baptist
   Church and the Amarillo chapter of the Pharmacist Auxiliary.
   
   She married W.A. Savage in 1920 at Floydada. He died in 1977. She also
   was preceded in death by a son, Kyle Savage, in 1996.
   
   Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Rhoda Savage of Amarillo, two
   grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

   Amarillo Building Fund.
   
   Delpha Staggs
   Delpha Staggs, 94, of Amarillo, died Friday, April 17, 1998.
   
   Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Memory Gardens with
   Dr. Curtis O. Stockton, retired, officiating. Arrangements are by
   Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St.
   
   Mrs. Staggs was born in Chickasha, Okla. She moved to Amarillo in 1982
   from South Gate, Calif. She was a registered nurse and a Methodist.
   
   She married Joshua E. Staggs in 1931 at Oklahoma. He died in 1981.
   
   Survivors include three sisters-in-law, Maudie Yoder of Borger, Violet
   Adams of Deming, N.M., and Rethalee Staggs of Amarillo; and several
   nieces and nephews.
   
   The family request memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and
   Life Enrichment Center or Cal Farley's Boys Ranch.
   
   Charlotte Baker
   Charlotte Baker, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, April 15, 1998.
   
   Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Memorial Park Funeral Home,
   Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40.
   
   Mrs. Baker was born in Allen County, Kan. She moved to Amarillo in
   1947 from Moran, Kan. She retired in 1969 as cafeteria manager for the
   Amarillo Independent School District. She was a member of the Amarillo
   Senior Citizens Association, San Jacinto United Methodist Church and
   was life master of the Unit 210 duplicate bridge club.
   
   She married E.R. "Bud" Baker in 1931 at Moran. She was preceded in
   death by her husband and a daughter, Delores B. Reed.
   
   Survivors include a son, Jerry S. Baker of Amarillo; a daughter, Nancy
   B. Harvey of Amarillo; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

   Marcario Trujillo
   MILAN, N.M. - Marcario Trujillo, 67, died Thursday, April 16, 1998.
   
   Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Francis Xavier Catholic
   Church at Clayton by the Rev. George Silva, pastor. Burial will be in
   Clayton Memorial Cemetery at Clayton by Hass Funeral Directors of
   Clayton.
   
   Mr. Trujillo was born in Moses. He lived in Clayton until moving to
   Grants in 1978. He ranched while living in Clayton. He worked for
   Village of Milan for many years.
   
   Survivors include his wife, Ernestine; a son, Jim Trujillo of Windsor,
   Colo.; three daughters, Yolanda Quintana of Alamogordo, Teresa Valdez
   of Milan and Veronica Molina of Albuquerque; his father, Catarino
   Trujillo of Clayton; two brothers, Felix Trujillo of Hugoton, Kan.,
   and Steve Trujillo of Clayton; 10 grandchildren; and nine
   great-grandchildren.
   
   Leslie Lee Van Pelt
   CLAYTON, N.M. - Leslie Lee Van Pelt, 83, died Friday, April 17, 1998.
   
   Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church
   with the Rev. Andy Husted, pastor, and the Rev. Billy Rammage, pastor
   of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Clayton
   Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.
   
   Mr. Van Pelt was born in Blue Mound, Kan. He graduated from Clayton
   High School in 1933. In 1942, he joined the Army Air Force where he
   was a glider instructor and pilot during World War II. He returned to
   Clayton after his discharge in 1945.
   
   Mr. Van Pelt was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the
   Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3271. He was a past member of the Rotary
   International and the American Legion.
   
   He married Vivian "Ski" Netzke in 1942 at Rochester, Minn.
   
   Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Leslie Taylor and Gayle
   Van Pelt, both of Clayton, and Wendy Libby of Bueyeros; a son, William
   Lee Van Pelt of Roswell; a brother, Raymond W. Van Pelt of Las Cruces;
   nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
   
   James Harlen Jones
   CLOVIS, N.M. - James Harlan Jones, 75, died Friday, April 17, 1998.
   
   Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in Parkview Baptist Church,
   11th and Oak, with the Rev. Kenneth Dunsworth officiating. Cremation
   and arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis.
   
   Mr. Jones was born in Dibble, Okla. He moved to Clovis in 1946 after
   serving in the Navy during World War II. He had been a pipe fitter for
   the AT&SF rail road for 12 years. He then was employed as a ceramic
   tile setter for McDaniel's until his retirement. He was a member of
   First Baptist Church of Texico and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3280.
   
   He married Mary Mae Dunsworth in 1947 at Portales.
   
   Survivors include his wife; four sons, Harlen W. Jones and Howard L.
   Jones, both of Clovis, James Richard Jones of Palestine, Texas, and
   Charles R. Jones of San Angelo, Texas; two daughters, Jean Schwab of
   Richardson, Texas, and Jan Kipp of Albuquerque; a brother, LaVoyde
   Jones of Olney, Texas; two sisters, Wanda Brown of Olney and Lois
   Williams of Austin, Nev.; 12 grandchildren; and five
   great-grandchildren.
   
   Ruth Shawn
   CLOVIS, N.M. - Ruth Shawn, 83, died Saturday, April 11, 1998.
   
   Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Central Christian Church with
   Dr. Thomas P. Jones officiating. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m.
   in Maxwell Cemetery in Maxwell by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.
   
   Mrs. Shawn was born in Texas.
   
   She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Shawn; a son,
   Billy R. Shawn; and a grandson.
   
   Survivors include a daughter, Margie Ruth Cheek of Brevard, N.C.;
   three sisters, Pete Wallace of Corpus Christi, Texas, Pecola Wilkerson
   of Fort Worth, Texas, and Lillie Clark of Lubbock, Texas; a brother,
   Johnny Brown of Ballinger, Texas; five grandchildren; and five
   greatgrandchildren.

   Mary Lopez Garcia
   TUCUMCARI, N.M. - Mary Lopez "Mariquita" Garcia, 82, died Friday,
   April 17, 1998.
   
   Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in the Dunn Funeral Home
   Memorial Chapel. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Anne's Catholic
   Church with the Rev. John C. Daniel officiating.
   
   Mrs. Garcia was born in Cuervo, N.M., and had been a lifetime resident
   of Tucumcari. She was a homemaker and member of St. Anne's Catholic
   Church.
   
   She married Felix Garcia. She was preceded in death by a daughter,
   Lorinda Kreykenbohm in 1992.
   
   Survivors include her husband; a son, Rudy Garcia of Tucumcari; a
   daughter, Madeline Esquibel of Tucumcari; 10 grandchildren; and seven
   great-grandchildren.
   
   The body will be available for viewing until time of service Monday at
   the funeral home.
