                              Robert Davenport
     ODESSA — Robert R. "Bob" Davenport, 66, of Odessa, a retired
      sales engineer, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, at his residence.
   Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Northside Baptist Church with
   the Rev. Clydel Chapman officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial
            Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
       He was born in Tulsa, Okla., and moved to Odessa in 1945 from
                         Illinois. He was Baptist.
       SURVIVORS: Wife, Mona W. Davenport of Odessa; daughters, Karen
     Duerksen of Iowa Park and Anita Day of Midlothian; sister, Maxine
                  Parks of Odessa; and four grandchildren.
                                      
                                 J.D. Ellis
      FORT STOCKTON — J.D. "Huck" Ellis, 78, of Fort Stockton, a
   retired tool pusher, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, at Medical Center
                                 Hospital.
   Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at East Hill Cemetery with
   the Rev. Skip Hill officiating. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral
                                   Home.
   He was born in Shamrock and had been a resident of Fort Stockton since
           1949. He was an Army and Navy veteran of World War II.
   SURVIVORS: Wife, Frances Ellis of Fort Stockton; sons, Carl Dale Ellis
     and Bill Ellis, both of Fort Stockton; daughters, JoAnn Walp, Dana
      Byrd Ellis and Marla Baker, all of Fort Stockton, Melva Millo of
   Hesperia, Calif., Mariwin Anogianakis of Lubbock, Melanie McCullar of
      Nacogdoches and Carla Ellis of Millersview; stepson, Don King of
    Alvarado; stepdaughters, Sybil Criner of New Caney, Linda Golden and
          Georganna Barnett, both of Odessa; 40 grandchildren; 27
            great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
                                      
                                Dewey Hooten
    KINGSLAND — Dewey Olvern Hooten, 75, of Buchanan Dam, a retired
     iron worker, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, at Seton-Highland Lakes
                                 Hospital.
      Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne
      Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements by Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne
                               Funeral Home.
    He was born in Copperas Cove and moved to Buchanan Dam in 1978 from
              Houston. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
   SURVIVORS: Wife, Judy Hooten of Buchanan Dam; daughters, Rebecca Voss
     of Austin and Tena Boury of Paducah, Ky.; sister, Eunice Hanzel of
              Midland; and brother, Richard Hooten of Midland.
                                      
                               Ruth McIntosh
   ODESSA — Ruth Havens McIntosh, 78, of Odessa, died Tuesday, Feb.
                   22, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.
   Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel.
         Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by
                        Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
                       She was born in Mills County.
   SURVIVORS: Sons, Gary Eldon Mclntosh of Odessa and Silas Edward Nepveu
   of Denison; brothers, S.L. Havens of Midland, W.F. Havens of Gardena,
      Calif., and C.C. Havens of Rockwall; sisters, Deen Brown of San
     Angelo, Rosie Marie Haakenson and Lois Marie Anderson, both of Fox
                River Grove, Ill.; and three grandchildren.
                                      
                           Katherine O’Neal
   ODESSA — Katherine O’Neal, 85, of Odessa, a homemaker, died
            Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.
       Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Frank W. Wilson Funeral
    Directors Chapel with the Rev. Tom Hiser officiating. Burial will be
    at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral
                                 Directors.
    She was born in Brownwood and moved to Odessa in 1946 from Sundown.
                              She was Baptist.
   SURVIVORS: Sons, Bob O’Neal of Richardson and J.D. O’Neal of
      Odessa; daughter, Zana Fryman of Odessa; sister, Helen Schott of
          Brownwood; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
                                      
                                Ethel Rector
    ODESSA — Ethel Hallie Rector, 90, of Odessa, a homemaker, died
           Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.
   Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors
    Chapel with the Rev. James P. Bridges officiating. Burial will be at
    Odessa Cemetery. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
     She was born in Mabank and moved to Odessa in 1934 from Corsicana.
     SURVIVORS: Son, Dan Sikes of Anson; daughter, Johnnie Williams of
             Odessa; one granddaughter; and one great-grandson.
                                      
                                 John Rowe
    ANDREWS — John E. Rowe, 79, of Andrews, a retired pumper, died
      Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
   Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Andrews Old Cemetery
   with the Rev. Kerry Tilley officiating. Arrangements by McNett Funeral
                                   Home.
    He was born in Dangerfield and moved to Andrews in 1968 from Odessa.
                He was an Air Force veteran of World War II.
      SURVIVORS: Daughters, Barbara Hicks of Andrews, Carol Deshong of
    Kansas, Okla., and Susie Powell of Plains; brothers, George Rowe of
     Lufkin, Barney Rowe of Longview and Will Rowe of Avinger; sisters,
     Corine Littlefield and Elvie Mae Croley, both of Dangerfield, and
             Bonnie Pace of Avinger; nine grandchildren; and 15
                            great-grandchildren.
                                      
                              J. Alan Sanders
   ODESSA — J. Alan Sanders, 42, of The Woodlands died Monday, Feb.
                        21, 2000, at his residence.
    Services will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements by Frank W.
                         Wilson Funeral Directors.
       He was born in Lubbock and moved to the Woodlands in 1981 from
                                  Lubbock.
    SURVIVORS: Mother and stepfather, Ann and Vincent Becker of Odessa;
       and father and stepmother, John and Martha Sanders of Bedford.
                                      
                                 Ruby Smith
     ODESSA — Ruby Smith, 69, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Friday,
                Feb. 18, 2000, at Odessa Regional Hospital.
    Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Johnson Chapel A.M.E. Church
      with the Rev. Curtis Norris officiating. Burial will be at Ector
          County Cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.
   She was born in Odessa and was a lifelong resident. She was Methodist.
       SURVIVORS: Son, Larry Tucker Smith of Odessa; daughter, Diane
    Darby-Morgan of Phoenix; brother, Raymond Walker of Odessa; sisters,
     Jewell Haynes of Los Angeles, Dorothy McMarion, Bernice Smith and
      Willie Mae Beck, all of Odessa, and Imogene Simms of Pampa; four
                grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
                                      
                                 Ada Welch
    ARP — Ada Irene Welch, 86, of Arp, a homemaker, died Wednesday,
                Feb. 23, 2000, in a Tyler hospice facility.
    Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church with the
     Revs. Mike Rice and Curtis Gilbert officiating. Burial will be at
     Henry’s Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements by Cottle Funeral Home.
     She was born in Troup and was a former resident of Odessa. She was
                                  Baptist.
   SURVIVORS: Husband, Burtis Welch of Arp; sons, Buford Welch of Houston
    and Tony Welch of Moore, Okla.; daughters, Rachel Wheeler of Sachse,
      Barbara Sue Wilcox and Carolyn Miller, both of Odessa, and Linda
    Miller of Arp; sisters, Minnie Bailey and Gracie Mae Dowdy, both of
        Troup, and Lula Ward of Whitehouse; brother, Ray Carlile of
   Jacksonville, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one
                          great-great-grandchild.
