Mattie F. Pleasant

   Mrs. Mattie Florence Pleasant, 85, 709 Cedar Avenue, Elizabethton, 
died Sunday, November 26, 2000, at her residence after an extended 
illness.
   Mrs. Pleasant was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the 
late Oscar and Nannie Jordan Burrow. She was also preceded in death by 
a sister, Ruby Napolitano, and a brother, Bill Burrow.
   Mrs. Pleasant was employed as a cashier at the Bonanza Restaurant for 
a number of years. She was a Jehovah Witness and a member of the 
Elizabethton Congregation.
   Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Bobby Joe 
Oliver, Elizabethton; five sons and three daughters-in-law, Robert R. 
and Linda Livingston, Fort Worth, Texas, Buddy Leon Pleasant, Key Largo, 
Fla., Jerry Richard Livingston, Donald Guy and Diane Pleasant and 
Thomas Wayne and Carolyn Pleasant, all of Elizabethton; two sisters, 
Dinah Parker and Carolyn Sue Potter, both of Mountain City; and four 
brothers, Robert Burrow and I.S. "Shirley" Burrow, both of Elizabethton, 
John Burrow, Mountain City, and Harry Burrow, Morgantown, W.Va. Twelve 
grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild and 
several nieces and nephews also survive.
   Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
   
   PLEASANT -- Graveside services for Mrs. Mattie Florence Pleasant, 
85, 709 Cedar Avenue, Elizabethton, who died Sunday, November 26, 
2000, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 28, at Happy 
Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble 
at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, will be Randy Williams, 
Mark Pleasant, Danny Pleasant, Keith Pleasant, David Livingston, Jason 
Oliver, Billy Ty Bowling and Eric Sewell. The family will receive friends 
from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at 
the residence. To those who prefer, memorials may be made in memory of 
Mrs. Pleasant to the Jehovah Witness, c/o Max Grimmett, 279 Bowers Lane, 
Elizabethton, Tenn. 37643. Family and friends will assemble at the 
funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday to go to the cemetery. Memorial 
Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
