  Robert R. Verna, 43, of Hollsopple RD 2, died April 8, 1978 at
  Memorial Hospital in Johnstown.  Born July 28, 1934 in Johnstown, a
  son of John and Ricketta (Todero) Verna.  Preceded in death by
  father, who died May 5, 1960 and a brother, Robert.  Survived by
  mother in Jerome and widow, the former Shirley Thomas; daughter,
  Beth; and a son, Scott, both at home.  Brother of Ann, wife of John
  Bushko; and Leona, wife of Walter Marian, both of Johnstown; LeRoy
  R., married to the former Mary Passalaqua of Cannonsburg; and Joan,
  wife or Rodney Lintz of Davidsville.  Member of Benscreek Lutheran
  Church and former president of the church council; Jenners community
  sportsman; Quemahoning Trap and Field Club; superintendent of
  maintenance for Bethlehem Mines, Cambria Division; graduate of the
  University of Pittsburgh as a mechanical engineer.  Friends were
  received Sunday and will be received from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday
  at the Joseph H.  Hoffman Funeral Home, 227 Allegheny St., Boswell. 
  Funeral service, 2 p.m. Monday at Benscreek Lutheran Church with the
  Rev. Arthur L. Mentzer officiating.  Interment, Maple Springs
  Cemetery.
