Robert R. "Bob" Sweitzer, 66, Brothersvalley Twp., died May 19,
2002 at his residence as the result of an accident. Born Nov. 2,
1935 in Brothersvalley Township, he was the son of Earl W. and Ada
(Baker) Sweitzer. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is
survived by his wife of 48 years, Kay A. (Bowser) Sweitzer, children,
Rhonda K., Brothersvalley Township, Robert E., State College; and
Rodney W., married to the former Rebecca King, Stonycreek Township;
and sisters, Eleanor M. Darr, West Palm Beach, Fla.; and Emma Gene
Engle, Meyersdale. Bob was the owner of Shanksville Auto Co. He was
a member of Mt. Zion United Church of Christ (Hay's Church), a life
member of International Union of Operating Engineers Local 66 of
Pittsburgh, and also a member of the Pennsylvania Farmers
Association, and the Pennsylvania Automobile Association. He was a
graduate of Berlin High School, class of 1953, and enjoyed dirt track
stock car racing. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to9
p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be
held 2 p.m. Wednesday with Ray M. Leckemby officiating. Interment,
Mt. Zion United Church of Christ, 2178 Maple Valley Road, Meyersdale,
Pa., 15552.
