WILLIAM SMITH

Garrett County, Maryland

  Mrs. C. C. Beachy, Grantsville, received word of the death of William Smith, 
53, of Woodlawn Ave., Bellevue, Pa.
  Mr. Smith is known here and at Bittinger.  He first came here as a stone 
cutter, and assisted in surveying a large tract of land at Bittinger about 
thirty years ago.  For the past several years he has been a traveling salesman 
for H. J. Mathews and Company.
  Until three years ago Mr. Smith with his wife and daughter, Elizabeth, 
habitually spent their summer vacation at the farm home of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. 
Beachy in Bittinger.
  Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon at the Bellevue Funeral 
Home, Bellevue, Pa.
