  Marie L. Leer, 82, of Markleton RD 1, died April 6, 1990, in Sacred
  Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md.  Born Jan. 8, 1908, in Lower
  Turkeyfoot Township, a daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Catherine
  (Firestone) Koontz.  Preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert C. 
  Surviving are the following children:  Doris Schrock, Somerset;
  Patricia Weimer, McConnellsburg; Mary Jane Marzo, Struthers, Ohio;
  Barbara Stewart, Pittsburgh; Maxine Stahl, Somerset; Lois Frantz,
  Dover, Del.; Katherine Pitzer, Portsmouth, R.I.; Judith Lando,
  Gaithersburg, Md.; Peggy Leer, Cumberland, Md.; Richard and Wilbert
  C. Jr., both of Somerset; Ben, Markleton; Edward, Somerset; Thomas,
  Garrett; and Samuel, Cumberland, Md.; also 30 grandchildren and five
  great-grandchildren.  A sister, Dorothy Cassidy of McKees Rocks; and
  a brother, Irwin Koontz of Fort Hill.  She was a member of the Mt.
  Zion United Methodist Church of Markleton.  Friends will be received
  from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, at the
  Humbert Funeral Home in Confluence, where services will be held 11
  a.m. Monday with the Rev. Daryl Harclerode officiating.  Interment,
  Somerset County Memorial Park.  The family requests contributions be
  made to the Sacred Heart Hospice unit, Cumberland, Md., the New
  Centerville Volunteer Fire Department or the American Heart
  Association.
