  Clyde J. Darr, 81, Sipesville, died July 30, 1979, in Maple Mountain Manoor 
  [sic], Berlin.  Born May 9, 1898, in Lincoln Township, son of the late Charles 
  F. and Ella Catherine (Smith) Darr.  Preceded in death by parents; step-mother 
  Lucy (Shaffer Darr); sister, Mrs. Clarence Walker; and brother Fred.  Survived 
  by wife, the former Merta E. Baker; and these children:  Arlene, wife of 
  Meredith Lohr, Rock Hill, S.C.; Clyde E., Somerset; Warren G., Sarasota, Fla.; 
  Janet, wife of Edeard Onstead, San Jose, Cal.; five grandchildren; two great-
  grandchildren.  Brothers and sisters:  Mrs. Alpha Smucker, Mrs. Bessie Gashaw 
  and Miss Pauline Darr, all of Somerset; Edward J., Somerset RD 2; Mrs. Gladys 
  Hoffman, Somerset RD 3.  Member Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church and the men's 
  Bible class.  Retired farmer and retired from Wadell and Reed.  Former church 
  councilman and Sunday school teacher.  Death ended a marriage union of 62 years.  
  The Darrs were the first couple to be married in the Casebeer Lutheran Church 
  parsonage.  Friends will be received after 2 p.m. Thursday in Robert H. 
  Halverson Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday in 
  Christ Casebeer Lutheran Church, the Rev. Robert R. Clark officiating.  
  Interment, church cemetery.  Body will lie in state in the church from 1 p.m. 
  until time of service.
