COALGATE — Services for Charles Ray Ridley, 81, Coalgate, are 10 a.m.
Wednesday at Brown’s Chapel, Coalgate. Burial follows at Moore Cemetery.

Mr. Ridley died April 30, 2007. He was born Feb. 4, 1926 at Clarita to Marion
Luther and Winnie Lou Forgey Ridley.

He attended school at Clarita, where he graduated in 1944. He married Margaret
Brecheen Jan. 10, 1949 at Ada.

Mr. Ridley served in the Navy during World War II and was a life time member
of the Veterans of Foreign Wars post 1198 and a member of the American Legion.

Mr. Ridley was a rancher and owned a Mobile Gas Station and was in the oil
business. He was of the Church of Christ faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion Luther and Winnie Lou Ridley;
one sister, Mildred Ridley; one brother, Ralph Ridley; and one son-in-law,
Hershel Denson.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Ridley, of the home; daughters, Carol
Denson, and Kay Battles and husband, David, all of Olney; one son, Gary
Ridley, Coalgate; six grandchildren, Kenneth Ray Denson, Kyle Denson, Jim
Battles, Joe Battles, Lucas Ray Ridley and Lacy Edwards; six great-
grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Zelda Ridley, Coalgate; along with nieces
and nephews and numerous other relatives and many friends.

Bearers are Zane Brecheen, Dane Brecheen, Mike Hefley, Tim Hefley, Maxie Mobbs
and Howard Ables.

ADA — Services for Mandi Elizabeth Penn, 29, Ada, are 10 a.m. Thursday at
Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. John Haynes will officiate. Graveside
services will be 3 p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain View, Okla.

Ms. Penn died Monday, April 30, 2007, at her home. She was born June 17, 1977,
in Ada to Leslie Ruben and Shirley Jean Allen Penn.

She graduated from high school in 1995 and attended East Central University
for two years. Ms. Penn lived in Hilton Head, S.C., from 2002-2005 and was an
office manager for a water conditioning company. She returned to Ada in 2005
from Hilton Head. She attended the First Presbyterian Church formerly she
attended the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her parents, Les and Roxan Penn, of the home; a daughter,
Marli Jean Penn, of the home; paternal grandparents, Murl and Nadine Penn,
Ada; maternal grandmother, Dortha Allen, Clinton; and a brother, B.K. Penn,
Ada.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Penn, her maternal
grandfather, Bob Allen, and an uncle, Jimmy Allen.

Bearers will be Karah-Marie Thompson, Mandy Simmons, Jenne Lofton, Suzanne
Allen, Dianne James, Raina Walters, Joel Ward, and Bryan Thomas.

Mrs. Smith died Friday, April 27, 2007, at an Oklahoma City hospital. She was
born Oct. 7, 1942, at Wharton County, Texas, to Leon A. and Helen Dees Wendel.

She graduated from El Campo High School. She received a bachelor of science
degree and a master's degree from the University of Texas at Permian Basin.

She married James E. Smith Jr. Dec. 31, 1986, in Crane, Texas.

Mrs. Smith was a sales consultant for A T & T. She lived in Midland, Texas,
from 1984-1996 and Thrall, Texas, from 1996-2005, and then moved to Stonewall
in 2005.

Survivors include her husband, James E. Smith Jr., of the home; a daughter,
Corbi Shurtleff and husband Preston, Dallas, Texas; a son, Devin Martin,
Dallas, Texas; two stepdaughters, Teresa Johnson, Palmdale, Calif., and Wendy
Plunkett, Yucaipa, Calif.; her mother, Helen Wendel, El Campo, Texas; a

Mrs. Taylor died April 30, 2007. She was born Dec. 2, 1928, to Lincoln and
Melvina Illetewahke Stick, and was raised on the church ground of High Hill
Baptist Church. She attended Bloomfield Schools.

Mrs. Taylor was member of the WMU as director from 1990 to 1998. As director,
she was involved in local churches in Carter and Pontotoc counties. She
volunteered for eight years as a Carter Seminary grandparent. She was a member
of the Centerpoint Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Ruth Frazier and Nora
Burris and one brother Woodrow Stick.

Survivors include two daughters, Fernie Sampson and husband Ronald, Ardmore,
Lorette Easley and husband Joe, Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren; 28 great-
grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and brother J.C. Hawkins and
wife Martha, Ada.

follows at Pryor Cemetery, Stuart. Mr. Winningham died May 1, 2007 at an
Oklahoma City hospital.

He was born Oct. 17, 1932 at Stuart to Robert and Thelma Godwin Winningham. He
married Mona Bolt June 19, 1953, in Mexico.

Mr. Winningham attended Tulare High School in California. He worked for
Lakeshore Orchard as a foreman for 29 years before retiring. He moved to Ada
in 1993 from Washington, where he had lived ever since.

He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Thelma Winningham, and two
brothers, Harold and Tommy Winningham.

Survivors include his wife Mona Winningham, Ada; three sons, Ronald
Winningham, Lehigh, Robert Winningham and wife Allison, Coalgate, Marcus
Glovers and wife Deborah, Blue Creek, Wash.; six daughters, Sherry Horta and

DAVID BISBEE
ADA — Services for David Ray Bisbee, 61, Stonewall, are not set at this time.
Mr. Bisbee died April 26, 2007 at an Ada hospital.

He was born Feb. 8, 1946 at Little Rock, Ark. to Sidney Brooker Bisbee and
Lois Marie Buie.

Mr. Bisbee served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1974, and he was
honorably discharged as sergeant. He was a member of the DAV Commanders Club.
He toured in Vietnam twice, was a Black Horse Trooper and was in the 11th
Armored Calvary Regiment. Mr. Bisbee worked on pipelines for many years and
moved to Ada from Arkansas in 1975.

He was preceded in death by his parents Sidney and Lois Bisbee.

Survivors include two daughters, Tonda Bisbee, Stonewall, Sonya Smith,
Oklahoma City; two sisters, Maxine Manly and Linda Darnell, both of Little

Mr. Wallace died Friday, May 4, 2007 at a local hospital. He was born December
27, 1958 at Wynnewood, Oklahoma to Josh Lee Wallace, Sr. and Minnie Gibson
Wallace. He lived in Elmore City most of his life before moving to Pauls
Valley. He attended school at Pauls Valley, and later moved to Ada. Mr.
Wallace was employed with Shelton Used Cars, Pelfery Used Cars, Solo Cup
Company and was a Custodian for the Ada Gaming Center until his retirement. He
was a member of Midway Baptist Church for many years.

Survivors include a brother, Albert Wallace and wife Elaine, Ada; four
nephews, Cebrane Wallace and wife Becky, Ada, Vincent Wallace, Ada, Randall
Bohanon, Ada, and Jordan Bohanon, Ada; a niece, Kathie Wallace, Ada; great
niece, Krischelle Wallace, Ada; five aunts, Ethel Wallace, Pauls Valley, Mary
Meeley, Maysville, Agnes Ned, Pauls Valley, Pat Amos, Sulphur, and Janice

Mr. Johnson died Saturday, May 5, 2007 at a local hospital. He was born April
27, 1943 at Ada, Oklahoma to LaRanzo and Shula Van Zant Johnson. He lived in
the Ada area most of his life, attending school at Latta.

He married Helen Hilton on August 23, 1965 in Ada. Mr. Johnson was employed
with Reeves and Wickhams Packing Plant and later with McCoy's Tree Surgery. He
served in the National Guard.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Johnson, of the home; three sons, Danny Ray
Wall, Oklahoma City, Billy Dwight Johnson, Ada, and Steven Shane Johnson, Ada;
a daughter, Elizabeth Gwen Johnson, Ada; 13 grandchildren; one brother, Bobby
Johnson, Ada; a sister, Eula Pinley, Ada; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, Benton and Lula
Pennington Johnson and Jim and Manerva Reeves Van Zant, two brothers, Tommy
Johnson and Gerald Johnson, and two sisters, Betty Leslie and Earlene West.

BEDFORD, TEXAS — Services for Helen Jeannine Montgomery, 78, Bedford, Texas,

Mrs. Montgomery died Thursday, May 3, 2007 at a Fort Worth, Texas hospice
center. She was born December 24, 1928 at Wilson, Oklahoma to William and
Virgie Davis Casebolt. She was raised in St. Louis, Oklahoma and graduated
from St. Louis High School.

She married Cecil Montgomery on November 27, 1948 in Gainesville, Texas. He
died December 23, 1997 at Ada, Oklahoma. Mr. and Mrs. Montgomery lived in
Woodward, Oklahoma from 1957 until they moved to Ada in 1976. Mrs. Montgomery
was a homemaker and a member of Southwest Church of Christ. While living in
Woodward, she played golf with the Ladies Golf Association and also played
bridge.

Survivors include a son, Terry Montgomery and wife Rebecca, Bedford, Texas;
grandchildren, David Kay and Amy Kay, both of Fort Worth, Texas; and a sister,
Betty Jo Nelson, Oklahoma City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and sisters, Eula Faye
and Bernadine.

She was born Dec. 16, 1953 at Ardmore to Robert Lee Baptiste, Sr., and Frances
Parker Baptiste. She married Bill Stick at Ada. She was a member of the
Northeast Baptist Church and the pitcher for the Kachina Dolls fast-pitch
softball team.

Mrs. Stick was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and a
sister.

Survivors included daughter, Heather Taylor and husband Joe, Tulsa; son,
Jackie Burris, II., Orlando, Fla.; sisters, Myrtle Chotkey, Oklahoma City, and
Stella Baptiste, Calumet; brothers, Lonzo Baptiste and wife Gloria, Ardmore,
Robert Baptiste, Jr., Ardmore, Thomas Baptiste and wife Maggie, Tulsa, and
Dennis Baptiste and wife Mamie, Ardmore; four grandchildren, Megan, T’Erah,

ADA-Services for Gilbert Ray Stettler, 72, Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at

military honors at the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00

Mr. Stettler died Saturday, May 5, 2007 at a local hospital. He was born June
23, 1934 at Wetumka, Oklahoma to Lloyd S. and Dollie Haught Stettler. He and
his family moved to Harden City when he was five years old. He graduated from
McLish High School in 1953.

He married De Ann Rudig on April 20, 1957. Mr. Stettler was employed with
Hazel-Atlas Glass Plant and Safeway Grocery store prior to enlisting in the U.
S. Air Force. After serving four years, he received an Honorable Discharge
from the U. S. Air Force. He then worked in construction for one year before
going into the U. S. Postal Service. Mr. Stettler worked as a clerk and was
promoted to Assistant Postmaster for the last 10 years prior to retirement. He
retired from the U. S. Postal Service with 27 years of service. Mr. Stettler
was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, De Ann Stettler, of the home; a daughter, Rebecca
L. Smith and husband Travis Smith, Ada; a granddaughter, Connie Nicole Smith,
Ada; two sisters, Kathryn Worthy, Ada, and Wanda Harris, Pearland, Texas; and
a host of nieces and nephews.

She graduated from Ada High School and Murray State College in Tishomingo and
attended East Central University in Ada. Mrs. Massey was a social worker for
the Department of Human Services until her retirement.

She married Elmer Andrew Massey April 25, 1947, in Ada.

Survivors include her husband, Elmer Andrew Massey, of the home; two
daughters, Karen Acker and husband Mark, Norman, and Karol McGehee and husband
Darrel, Corinth, Texas; a son, James Leslie Andrew Massey and wife Lisa,
Tulsa; a brother, William Low, Ada; four grandchildren, Andrea Magan McGehee,
Dallas, Texas, Brett McGehee, Corinth, Texas, Jacob Andrew Massey, Tulsa, and

Ms. Stick died Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at a local hospital. She was born Sept.

She lived in this area most of her life, moved to Illinois for 18 years and
later moved back to this area July, 2006. Ms. Stick was a cook and teacher's
aide for Mount Carmel Social Services and she was a member of Dixon Chapel
Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Donna Williams and husband Chris, Ada, Tina
Stick and husband John Miller, Ada, and Joan Jones and husband Rob, of the
home; a son, Merle Stick Jr. and wife Debra, Vanoss; father of her children,

Mr. Horton died May 6, 2007 at Allen. He was born Jan. 6, 1915 at Tupelo to

Mr. Horton married Helen Viola Reed Feb. 6, 1946 at Ada.

He attended Gould, Tupelo and Eubanks schools, received a GED in the Army and
later attended Okmulgee Tech for auto mechanics.

Mr. Horton’s occupation was a meat cutter and farmer. He was of the Baptist
faith. Mr. Horton served the Army during World War II and Korea War. He was
master sergeant in the Army, a scout in the Korea War and served 22 years in
the military receiving a Purple Heart and numerous other metals. He was also a
former Prisoner of War.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Andrew and Delia Swaffer Horton;
brothers, Frankie Horton, Wesley Horton and J.W. Horton; and sisters Clara
Woods, Billie Eaton, Retta Hedrick, Agnes Fitzpatrick and Eva Foster.

Mrs. Meharg worked at the Pontotoc County treasurer's office for 30 years. She
was a member of the First United Methodist Church for 84 years and had served
as Sunday school record secretary.

She married John L. Meharg Sept. 11, 1948, in Tishomingo. He died July 16,
1980, in Ada.

Survivors include a son, John Meharg and wife Jo, Norman; a daughter, Stacey
Golightly and husband Charlie, Ada; a sister, Billie Proctor, Roswell, N.M.;
four grandchildren, Jason Meharg, Oklahoma City, Jonathan Meharg, Norman, Kari

Mr. Nickell died Sunday, May 13, 2007, at his home. He was born June 25, 1934,
at Allen to James Harvey and Doshia Livsay Nickell.

He attended school at Red Oak and graduated from Allen High School in 1953. He
also attended a Police Academy.

Mr. Nickell was a policeman for the Ada Police Department, retiring as a
detective in 1978 after 15 years of service. He was a member of the Tecumseh
Full Gospel Church, and he served as deacon and Sunday school superintendent
in the Assembly of God Church. In the 1950s, while living in Kerman, Calif.,
he served as a volunteer fireman.

He married Rolana McCulley on Feb. 14, 1997, in Ada.

Survivors include his wife, Rolana Nickell, of the home; a son, Dennis
Nickell, Oklahoma City; two daughters, Rhonda Cupps and husband Roger, Ada,
and Shana Roberson and husband Aaron, Ada; three sisters, Azell Hogue, Allen,
Patsy McDuffie, Allen, and Ruby Holeman and husband Carl, Oklahoma City; eight
grandchildren, Kristen Nanni and husband Chip, Brandon Nickell, Brittany

May 11, 2007.

He was born Aug. 6, 1920 at Atoka to Robert J. and Amanda Chambers Hickman.
Mr. Hickman graduated from Springer High School, where he met his future wife
of 66 years. He married Delora Chamberlain Dec. 6, 1941. The couple lived in
Wewoka from 1949-1970. They both taught Sunday school at the First Baptist
Church in Wewoka, where he was a deacon. Before teaching, Mr. Hickman worked
for Whitehead Hardware in Wewoka, after several years with Shawnee Milling Co.

Mr. Hickman worked until the age 80. He received a MA degree from East Central
University. He was a master woodworker, horseman, rancher and educator.

He served with the U.S. Army in World War II then returned for a tour in the
Korean War, in the Philippines, serving as a master-sergeant. He also served
as a medic and kitchen supervisor.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Delora Hickman; parents, Robert J. and
Amanda Hickman; two brothers, T.J. and Jack; and four infant sons.

Survivors include his daughter, Rhonda and husband Rev. Ken Young;
granddaughter, Tina Ward and husband Dr. Brad Carter, Edmond; great-

Johnson passed from this life in 2000.

Mr. Johnson served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War from 1966
to 1970. He was a longtime resident of Ada. He was employed as a truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Denise Johnson; father, Walter J.
Johnson; brother, Johnny Keith Williams; and step-father, George Rael.

He and his family moved to the Steedman community from Haskell. He graduated

He married Thelma Emogene Phillips Dec. 25, 1940, at Steedman, Oklahoma. In
1942, Mr. Sowards worked in the shipyards in California prior to joining the
U.S. Navy on May 7, 1943. He served in the Navy until 1945. He then was
employed with Violet and Gregg Garage until 1955, and later he worked for the
Army National Guard until his retirement in 1980. Mr. Sowards was a longtime
active member of Trinity Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.

Survivors include his wife, Thelma Emogene Sowards, of the home; a son,
Phillip Sowards and wife Thelma, Tulsa; a daughter, Carolyn Boyles and husband
Johnny, Allen; two granddaughters, Michelle Sowards and Andrea Sowards; a
great grandson, Nicholas Robinson; several nieces and nephews and many long
time friends.

He was born Aug. 10, 1947, in Ada to Murry and Frances Nadine Howard Collings.

He attended Willard Elementary school and graduated from Ada High School in
1965. He attended East Central University for two years.

Mr. Collings was a professional musician, and was a former member of a local
band called “The Monuments”. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam
era.

Survivors include his significant other, Mary Ellen Schultis; a daughter,
Rocky Lynn Collings, Yukon, one brother, Rob Collings and his wife Bobby,
Slaughterville; a niece, Robin Mize and family, Noble; and a nephew, Monty
Collings and family, Noble.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Brandon Lee Collings His

COMANCHE — Graveside services for Carl Scott, 88, Comanche, were 11 a.m. today
at Fairlawn Cemetery, Comanche, with Dow Pannell officiating. Mr. Scott died
May 12, 2007, at a Duncan hospital.

He was born Oct. 11, 1918 at Ada to Herbert and Gladys Biggar. He grew up in
Texas and Oklahoma and graduated from Electra High School.

Mr. Scott married Rita Webb Nov. 9, 1941 at Roff. The couple lived in Ada,
Duncan and Amarillo, Texas, before retiring and making their home at Lake
Waurika, west of Comanche in 1980.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a skilled carpenter and
cabinet maker. He used his skill to build several of their homes, including
the one they have lived in for the past 26 years.

Mr. Scott and his wife spent more than 30 years working with and teaching
young people in the churches and the communities they lived in. He was
ordained deacon at Immanuel Baptist Church, Duncan.

He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Carla Martindale Dowell in
1993 and two sisters, Louise and Ruth.

Survivors include his wife, Rita, of the home; two sons, Randy Scott, of the
home, and David Scott and wife Cindy, Amarillo, Texas; five grandchildren; 11
great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Billings, Oklahoma City, and Alyce
Scotson, Ada.

Mr. and Mrs. Haggard moved back to Roff in 1971 from Richmond, Calif. While in
California, she and her husband worked in the shipyards during World War II.
Mrs. Haggard was a member of the Roff First Baptist Church.

He moved to Ada from Stratford in the 1950s. Mr. Greenlee was a maintenance
employee at East Central University, retiring in the early 1970s after 37
years of service. He was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church, and
he served in the U. S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Kay Underhill, Ada, and Delma Shirlene
Massey and husband Tommy, Midwest City; one son, D.L. Greenlee, Ada; three
sisters, Kathrine Wilson, Ada, Orbell Watson, Weatherford, Texas, and Edlee
Fraley, Wyoming; 10 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a son, Roger Dale

served in the United States Army form 1950 to 1953 and during that time he
served a tour in the Korean War and would later receive the Silver Star Medal
for outstanding bravery. He was employed by the Ideal Cement Plant as a
laboratory technician retiring after 34 years of service. Mr. Allen was of the
Baptist faith and a longtime resident of Ada. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will
conduct the military rites.

He is preceded in death by one son, Kevin Allen; three brother, Calvin, Tandy
and Melton Allen; three sisters, Belzora Allen Thomas, Minnie Allen Shields
and Winnie Allen; and parents.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Allen, of the home; one son, Steven Allen,

She married H. Don Henderson May 27, 1952, at Wichita Falls, Texas. He died
Jan. 6, 2002, in Ada.

Mrs. Henderson owned and operated Henderson Cake and Candy Supply for 25 years
and also catered weddings. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church
for 57 years, where she taught Sunday school for 35 years and was a member of
Asbury United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Healthy Heart Club
at Valley View Regional Hospital.

Survivors include two daughters, Cathy Battles, McLoud, and Julie Lawson and
husband Jim, Ada; two sons, David Henderson and wife Jamie, Ada, and Gary

Perry enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country for 20
years.  He attained the rank of tech sergeant and retired in 1967.

He later went to work for OG&E and worked there for 10 years in the 1970s.
Perry was a cattle rancher and farmer and was also associated with the oil
industry.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Ada and tMasonic Lodge in Blair.

He married Patsy Scroggin June 22, 1957,in Konawa.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy; a son, Robert Roulston, Konawa; a daughter,

Mrs. Schmidt died May 16, 2007, at her home in Arvada, Colo.

She was born Jan. 25, 2930, in Ashland, Ohio, o Charles and Rhea Messmore

She married Cornelius F. Schmidt June 15, 1963, at Redondo Beach, Calif. Mr.
Schmidt died March 9, 1975.

Mrs. Schmidt lived in the Stonewall and Ada area for many years. She was a
homemaker.

She is preceded in death by her daughters, Julie Collins, Ada, and Janet
Mason, Ohio; and one sister, Bertha Skip Bataglia.

Survivors include one son, the Rev. Tim Schmidt and wife Mary, Puerto Rico;
three daughters, Sandra Hatcher, Ada, Marianne Clanton, Colorado, and Susan
Thomas and husband David, California; three sisters, Lavonne Rogers and

Houston, Texas, formerly of Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 30 at Rosedale

Mrs. Laughlin died Tuesday, May 15, 2007 in Houston, Texas. She was born June
5, 1930 in Ada to Lewis Kroth and Kathleen Pike Kroth.

She lived in Ada her entire childhood and graduated from from Ada High School.

She married Winford Laughlin on July 3, 1948 in Ada.

Mrs. Laughlin was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker who loved music and
played piano and guitar. She was a dedicated volunteer all her life. She
worked as a Hospital “Pink Lady” in Ponca City, taught Sunday School for many
years in Houston, developed and taught a faith-based stress-reduction workshop
in Houston and worked as a lay minister and crisis hotline volunteer in
Houston and in California.

She is preceded in death by a brother, Bob Kroth of Kingston, and a sister,
Betty Pennington.

Survivors include her husband, Winford Laughlin of Houston, Texas; one son,
Mike Laughlin of San Antonio, Texas; two daughters, Mary Fuller and her
husband Todd of Houston, Texas and Cindy Ramming and her husband Arnold of
Bakersfield, California; grandchildren Ryan Ramming and Lauren Fuller; two
sisters, Charlene Corvin, Wilburton, and Anita Lalli, McAlester; and many
other relatives and friends.

Mr. Bullock died Friday, May 25, 2007 at his home. He was born September 17,
1917 at Roff, Oklahoma to Samuel David and Tennie C. Woodard Bullock. He
attended Sasakwa schools.

He married Geneva Harris on March 11, 1938 at Konawa, Oklahoma. Mr. Bullock
was a District Production Foreman with the American Petrofina Corporation
until his retirement. He was a longtime active member of Southwest Church of
Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Geneva Bullock, of the home; a son, Randy Bullock
and wife Carrol, Midwest City; a grandson, Greg Bullock, Del City; a
granddaughter, Debbie Bynum and husband John, Ada; three great grandchildren,
Shellie Bynum, Audrie Bynum, and Tyler Bynum; one brother, Charley Bullock,
Plant City, Florida; and two sisters, Ethel Fernandez, Brownsville, Texas, and
Betty Gentile, Florida; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and one sister.

Mrs. Moon died on Friday, May 25, 2007, at a local nursing home. She was born
May 6, 1915,in Garvin County, Oklahoma, to Harbin H. and Rosa Whitaker Dodd.
She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church, active in the
Ruth-Rachel Circle, and was a faithful folder of the church newsletter for
several years. She loved her grandchildren and loved to cook.

She married C. B. Moon on August 28, 1936. He preceded her in death on March
11,1984.

Survivors include a son, Jon Moon and wife Barbie, Ada; two daughters, Betsy
Moon, Austin, Texas; and Jane Moon Dromgoole and her husband John, Austin,
Texas; four grandchildren, Christi McDown, Hilary Mayhall, Todd Moon, and Ben
Johnson; and two great grandchildren, Carter Crabtree and Cole Crabtree.

Mrs. Hood died on Saturday, May 26th, 2007 at a local hospital after a long
illness. She was born July 31, 1937 in Ada Oklahoma to T. L. and Thelma Coley.
She attended high school at Vanoss . She was a homemaker and affiliated with
the Free Will Baptist Church.

She married Gene Hood on December 24, 1955.

She leaves behind her husband of 51 years Gene Hood, of the home; and four
children, sons Dr. Ron Hood, and wife Donna of Broken Arrow OK, son Robin
Gregory Hood and Wife Rebecca of Stratford, Ok and daughters Rhonda Gale Hood
and Renee' Genise Hood, both of the home; a sister Martha Sanders of Calera OK
and brother Thomas Coley of Stratford, OK, 5 grandchildren and 5 great
grandchildren, numerous nephews and nieces as well as a large and loving
extended family.

Bearers are Richard Hood, Daniel Jennings, Geary Lynn Sanders, Dale Sanders,
Jason Coley and Chad Ridgeway. Honorary bearers are Ryan Hood, Bret Shepard
and Dennis Corvin.

Mrs. Cox died Thursday, May 24, 2007 at a local hospital. She was born
September 13, 1949 at Ada, Oklahoma to H. A. and Lucille Johnson Blackburn.
She lived in this area all her life.

She graduated from Ada High School High School in 1967 and received a
Bachelor's degree from East Central University in 1971. She also received a
Master's degree in Special Education and Public School Administration.

She married Mike Cox on January 27, 1967. Mrs. Cox taught school at Ada,
Tampa, Florida, Wellington, Kansas, Wynnewood, Oklahoma, Baytown, Texas, and
Casper, Wyoming. The last fourteen years, she was the Pontotoc Technological
Center Director of Business and Industry Services. She was a member of Central
Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, Mike Cox, of the home; a daughter, Missy Speed
and her husband Bill, Ada; her parents, H. A. and Lucille Blackburn, Ada; a
brother, Stephen Blackburn and wife Becky, Champaign, Illinois; and three
grandchildren, Will, Lexie, and Lillie Speed; a niece, Amy Blackburn; a
nephew, Clint Blackburn and wife Lauren; and a great nephew, Reese Blackburn.

1941. He moved to this area in 1963 from Cushing, Oklahoma.

Mr. Standfield was employed in insurance sales with Reserve National
Insurance, and also worked in the Real Estate and construction field. He
served in the U. S. Marine Corps, during World War II. He fought at Iwo Jima
and Guam, served at Solomon, Marshall, Volcano and Mariana Islands and in New
Caledonia. He was honorably discharged as a Corporal.

Survivors include five sons, Norman Standfield and wife Deborah, Ada, Gilbert
Standfield and wife Bo, Tyler, Texas, Randy Standfield, Ada, Johnny
Standfield, Ada, and Roger Standfield and wife Lupe, San Diego, California; a

State Highway Department and the City of Ada, and was affiliated with the
Pentecostal Holiness church. He served in the U. S. Air Force during World War
II.

Survivors include a son, Bobby Lewis, Oklahoma City; a sister-in-law, Dorothy
Brendle, Ada; a niece, Lisa Young, Ada, nephew, Gary Brendle, Ada and a great
niece Lynde Mann, Ada, all of whom he helped rear; great niece and nephew,
Kayla and David; and nephews, Ronnie Brendle, Chuck Brendle, and Jonathan
Brendle, all of Ada.

KENNEDALE, TEXAS — Services for Bessie Margaret Oliver, 93, Kennedale, Texas,

Mrs. Oliver died Saturday, May 26, 2007 at a Kennedale nursing home. She was
born September 4, 1913 in the Rocky Point Community, north of Sasakwa,
Oklahoma to James and Evelyn White Wyatt. She attended school at Lone Dove and
graduated from Sasakwa High School in 1932. She graduated from East Central
University and also attended the University of California and the University
of Nevada.

She married Floyd Franklin Oliver in 1938 at Chandler, Oklahoma. He died
November 3, 1995 at Ada, Oklahoma. Mrs. Oliver came to this area in 1936 until
1942, and then later in 1967 until 1995. She was a teacher in Oklahoma,
California, and Nevada before retiring in 1969. Mrs. Oliver was a member of
the First Baptist Church in Ada for over 32 years and a member of the Pontotoc
Historical and Genealogy Society.

Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Stewart, Kennedale, Texas; a daughter-
in-law, Jo Oliver; three grandchildren; five step grandchildren; and three
great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Alan Wyatt and Marlin; one brother,
Rollins Wyatt; one sister, Bonnie Lou Brooks; and two grandchildren, Lee and
Mike McDaniel.

Bearers will be Loyd Gurley, Wendell Gurley, Sam Gurley, and Clarence Oliver,

He was born Nov. 12, 1944 at Stratford to William Singleton Wall, Sr., and
Annie Ashabranner Wall. He married Debra Sue Phelps Nov. 3, 1997.

Mr. Wall graduated from Vanoss High School in 1962. He worked as a tool pusher
for B&B Tool Company for many years and was a lifelong resident of the Ada
area.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Annie Wall; one brother,
Billy Joe Ashabranner; and one sister, Patsy Clark.

Survivors include his wife Debra Wall, Stratford; two sons, Danny Wall and
