DAVID STANDRIDGE

LEMOORE, Calif. — Services for David Standridge, 66, Lemoore, 10 a.m. Thursday
at Lemoore Church of Christ. A memorial service will also be held at 2 p.m.
Saturday at the Church of Christ in Coalgate, Okla. Visitation is from 4-7 p.m.
today at Phipps-Dale Funeral Home.

Mr. Standridge died Feb. 14, 2004, at his home. He was born Nov. 22, 1937, at
Coalgate to Litt and Maple Standridge.

Mr. Standridge was a truck driver for many years as well as a supervisor for
West Lake Farms.

He was preceded in death by a son, Don Standridge, in 2002; his parents; and
two brothers, Charles and Bill Standridge in 2003.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Betty Standridge; two sons, Wayne
Standridge and wife Anita, and Doug Standridge, Lemoore; two daughters, Debbie
Souza and husband Mike, and Sandy Curtis and husband Philip, Lemoore; two
brothers, Fred Standridge, Coalgate, and Ike Standridge, Stratford, Calif.;
four sisters, Christine Keeler, Francis Dwiggens, Regina Baker, all of
Coalgate, and Ruth Nichols, Fresno;10 grandchildren, Meridith, Valerie, Craig,
Kathleen. Christopher, David Philip, Sarah, Lindsey and Briana; man nephews,
nieces, church family and friends.

ADA — Services for Doris Gean Wright, 70, Ada, are 1 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant
Hill Baptist Church, the Rev. Napolean Washington officiating. Burial follows
at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday
at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Wright died Feb. 16, 2004, at a local hospital. She was born May 19, 1933,
in the Jack Fork community to Thomas and Sallie Franklin Brown. She lived all
her life in this area and attended Napier school. Mrs. Wright was a home health
provider and a Baptist.

She married Frank Wright Jr. Oct. 20, 1951, at Stonewall.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Viola Walker, Ruth
Richardson, Wilma Black and an infant sister;  and three brothers, Earl Brown,
Kelly Brown and Eddie Brown.

Survivors include her husband, Frank Wright Jr., of the home; two sons, Tommy
Wright and wife Angelia, Midwest City, and James Wright, Ada; two sisters,
Clara Alfred, Stonewall, and Willie Mae Harris, Ada; nine grandchildren; eight
great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Bearers are Dwight Black, Wade Wright, Michael Woods, Earnest Wright, Jeff
Hamilton and Walter Grant, Jr.

Honorary bearers are Will Hamilton, Eddie Weaver and Augusta Bennett. Flower
bearers are June Walker, Shelley Hightower, Ruby Hightower, Maple Hamilton,
Doris Colbert, Betsy Osborne and Sherry Black.

KATHERINE LANCE

ADA — Services for Katherine Elizabeth Lance, 96, Ada, are 10 a.m. Saturday at
Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, the Revs. Glen Eaves and Bill Bratcher

Mrs. Lance died Feb. 19, 2004, at an Ada hospital. She was born Oct. 12, 1907,
in Shiloh, Ark., to Sam and Kate Blevins Wood. She and her family moved to the
Oil Center community in 1919 from Arkansas. She attended school in Arkansas and
at Summers Chapel.

She and Eugene "Gene" Lance were married in 1930.

Mrs. Lance and her husband owned and operated Lance Grocery at Oil Center for
many years. She was also a homemaker and attended Maxwell Holiness Church.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include her husband, Eugene "Gene" Lance, Ada; a son, Ed Lance and
his wife Joyce, Oil Center; a brother, Loy Wood and wife Olive Belle, Oil
Center; two grandsons, Bobby Lance and Eddie Lance; four great-grandchildren,
Redonna Lance, Bob Lance Jr., Bret Lance and Gregory Lance; a great-great-
granddaughter, Shawna Lynn; and several nieces and nephews.

MICKEY McDANIEL

ADA — Services for Mitchell "Mickey" McDaniel, 88, Ada, are 1:30 p.m. Saturday
at First United Methodist Church, Dr. George Warren officiating. Burial will
precede the service at Rosedale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from
5:30-7:30 p.m. today at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mr. McDaniel died Feb. 18, 2004, at Sulphur Veterans Administration Center. He
was born Oct. 19, 1915, at Durant to Mitchell H. and Emma Barnwall McDaniel. He
moved to Ada in 1929, attending Ada High School and graduating in 1933.

He attended East Central University and earned a degree in physical education.
He played four years on the ECU Tigers basketball team.  Following graduation
he worked for several years for the Oklahoma State Highway Department as the
division accountant. In 1949 he joined the Bob Cason Ford Motor Company as
office manager and bookkeeper. He remained in that position until he retired in
1987 from the Bowie Ballard Ford Motor Company.

Mr. McDaniel was a member of Oak Hills Golf and Country Club for more than 50
years, a member of the Full Moon Dinner Club and former member of the Ada Elks
Lodge 1640.

He served in World War II with the U.S. Army 5th Air Force as a radio operator
and aerial gunner on a B-25. He was stationed in the South Pacific from
1942-1945, completing more than 51 missions.

He was an active member of First United Methodist Church, which he had attended
for more than 60 years. He was a former member of the official church board and
was a charter member of the Mr. and Mrs. Sunday School class.

He and Sara Keltner were married Oct. 6, 1946, at Ada.

Survivors include his wife, Sara McDaniel, of the home; a son, Mitchell "Mike"
McDaniel, Calimesa, Calif.; a daughter, Kathy McDaniel, Bradenton, Fla.; a
nephew, James Keltner Grigsby, New Iberia, La.; and two granddaughters,
Danielle McDaniel and Jessica McDaniel, both of Calimesa.

Bearers are Randy Taylor, Jimmie Thomas, Don Williams, Willard Rhynes and Bruce
Omohundro.

Honorary bearers are Frank Dicus, Ted Savage, Howard Ryles, Hicks Smith, Dr.
Jim Hohl, Jim Armstrong, Bob Reese, Dr. James Thomas and Delton Marcum.

HICKORY — Graveside services for Ruth Crumb Stout, 83, Hickory, are 2 p.m.
Saturday at Hickory Cemetery, the Rev. Terry Neal officiating.

Mrs. Stout died Feb. 18, 2004, at Hickory. She was born Nov. 4, 1920, at
Lexington to Perry Oliver and LaMilla Click VanOrden.

She grew up north of Sulphur and attended school in that area. She had worked
for several business in Sulphur including Artesian Restaurant, West Side Liquor
and Sheegog’s Pharmacy.

She married Floyd W. Crumb. He died June 1960. She later married Charlie Stout
in May 1961.

In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and
a son, Jimmie Crumb.

Survivors include her husband, Charlie Stout, Hickory; two daughters, Linda
Crawford, Hickory, and Bonnie Hunt, Midwest City; a brother, Jerry VanOrden,
Davis; a sister, Pearl Patterson, Sulphur; seven grandchildren; six step-
grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

JOSEPH ELLIOTT

STEPHENVILLE, Texas - Services for Joseph J. Elliott, 88, Stephenville,
formerly Ada, Okla., are 10 a.m. Monday at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel,
Bill Wiley officiating. Burial follows at West End Cemetery.

Mr. Elliott died Feb. 20, 2004, at  Stephenville. He was born March 21, 1915,
at the Duster community in Comanche County to Joseph and Esther Elliott.

He attended Tarleton and became a college professor. In 1980 he retired from
East Central Oklahoma State University and in 1996 moved to Stephenville from
Ada.

Mr. Elliott served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the
Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion in Ada. He was also a member
of the Patrick Street Church of Christ, Dublin.

He and Winona Izard were married Nov. 11, 1955, at Fort Worth.

Mr. Elliott was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Esther Elliott.

Survivors include his wife, Winona Elliott, Stephenville; a son, James J.
Elliott and wife Gayle, Stephenville; a daughter, Rebecca Reyes and husband
Henry, Fort Worth; four grandchildren, Samuel J. Elliott, Ann Marie Elliott,
both of Stephenville, Dawson Elliott Reyes and Mason Grey Reyes, both of Fort
Worth.

ADA - Graveside services for Lorene Grace Henry, 82, Ada, are 10 a.m. Monday at

Mrs. Henry died Feb. 18, 2004, at a local nursing facility. She was born Aug.
16, 1921, at Dolberg, near Roff, to Arthur and Lillie Belle Cantrell Wright.

She graduated from Byng High School. She attended East Central University and
received a degree in Education from the University of California-Berkeley.

She retired as an elementary school teacher in Oakland, Calif. Mrs. Henry was a
Baptist.

She and Pete Flatt were married in 1942. He died in 1971. She later married
Arlie G. Henry in 1973. He died in 1993.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, six sisters, and two brothers.

Survivors include a son, Robert Arn Flatt and wife Leslie, Santa Rosa, Calif.;
a stepson, A. G. Henry and wife Marietta, Henderson, Nev.; a grandson, Justin
Cody Flatt, Santa Rosa, Calif.; a step  grandson, Brian
Henry and wife Jennifer, Las Vegas, Nev.; a step granddaughter, Michelle
Jackson and husband Roger, Henderson, Nev.; four nieces, Shirley Love, Faye

She attended school in Ada, graduating from Ada High School. She attended East
Central University and completed a bachelor¹s degree in business and
education from Oklahoma Baptist University, Shawnee. She was a teacher at the
Gordon-Cooper Vocational School for five years and later taught school in Ada
for three years.

She moved to this area in 1981 from Shawnee.

She and Levi Jeff Orphan were married July 26, 1963, at Ada. She was a member
of the Orphan Family Singing Group and traveled throughout the United States.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Levi Orphan, of the home; three daughters,
Rebecca Orphan, Vanoss, Maria Dawn Folsom, Lightning Ridge, and Mandy LaNell
Orphan Nash, Oklahoma City; a sister, Dessie Marie Myers, Midwest City; six
grandchildren, Myraya Sunshine Folsom, Breezy Folsom, Skyla Elizabeth Orphan,
Talula Rose Folsom and Levi Jonah Folsom; a nephew, Michael Myers, Midwest
City.

VIRGINIA WILLIAMS

ADA - Services will be held at a later date for Virginia Williams, 75, Ada.

Ms. Williams died Feb. 18, 2004, at a local nursing facility. She was born Nov.
1, 1928, at Herington, Kan., to Walter W. and Maggie O. Walker Williams.

She graduated from East Central University with a bachelor¹s degree and later
received a master¹s degree from the University of Oklahoma.

She was the high school music instructor in Allen, Stratford, Minco and several
other schools in the area, and also worked for a short time at the Ada Evening
News. She then moved to Washington, D.C., and was employed with the Library of
Congress as a musicologist. Later, she retired as a music instructor in Silver
Springs, Ma.

Ms. Williams was a volunteer for nursing homes in Ada, with Pontotoc County
Animal Welfare Society (P.A.W.S.), and Friends of the Ada Library.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Stanley Williams and
Paul Williams; and four sisters, Ruby DeTonto, Juanita Gordon, Betty Sands and
an infant sister, Milderine Williams.

Survivors include several nieces & nephews.

Mrs. Canida died Feb. 20, 2004, at Atoka. She was born July 14, 1915, at
Bromide to Thomas and Lula Pearl Jobe Bryant. She attended school at Tupelo
Public Schools, graduating in 1935.  She was a member of Tupelo First Baptist
Church.

She and Earl Canida were married Aug. 1, 1936, at Tupelo. He died Oct. 25,
1994.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Canida was preceded in death by her parents,
Thomas and Lula Pearl Bryant; four brothers, William J. Bryant, Harrison
Bryant, Jasper Bryant and Spencer Blackmore; and two sisters, Lula Bullard and
Alice Bryant.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry Canida and wife Modean and Terry D. Canida
and wife Leda, all of Tupelo; four granddaughters, Tina Bryant and husband
Ralph, Teresa Hall and husband Vence,  Amanda Pendleton and husband Dennis, and
Melesa Parker and husband Eddie;  and two grandsons, Les Canida and wife Marti
and Mike Przyszczypkowski and wife Peggy.

Mrs. Jones died Feb. 24, 2004, at a local hospital. She was born Feb. 5, 1918,
in Oklahoma.

She came to this area in the 1930s from Pottawatomie County. She was a
homemaker, waitress and former co-owner of the Liberty Cafe in Ada.  She was a
member of College Heights Baptist Church where she served as Sunday school
teacher, nursery worker and Sunday school secretary.

She married James Alven Jones on Oct. 11, 1937, in Ada. He died Nov. 10, 2001,
in Ada.

She was also preceded in death by a son, John Jones, in May 2002.

Bearers are  Arden Coffey, Gene Standridge, Bob King, Don Walston and Leonard

Church, now known as Mitchell Memorial Methodist Church, since 1961.

She and Leston Long were married Sept. 3, 1947. He died in 1973. She married
Billy Lancaster Feb. 3, 1984. She was a former Pentecostal Holiness minister
and Avon representative.

Survivors include her husband, Billy Lancaster, of the home; two sons, Freddie
Long and Carl Long, both of Ada; two daughters, Debbie Shelton  and Katherine
Lee, both of Ada; a sister, Dorothy Blocker, Seminole; six grandchildren,
Marissa Long, Leston Long, Shelby Long, Jonathan Shelton, Carla Loudermilk and
Larry Loudermilk; and two great-grandchildren, Kassie and Gage Loudermilk.

Mrs. Meeks died Feb. 24, 2004, at a local nursing facility. She was born April
3, 1935, at Union Valley to Cecil H. and Ruby Ellison Brannon. She lived all
her life in this area and graduated from Byng High School in 1953.

She was employed with the Pontotoc County Clerk’s office for 20 years. Later,
she was employed with Home Title Abstract, retiring in 2000 with more than 20
years of service.

She was affiliated with Lovelady Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Ellison Brannon.

Survivors include a son, Ronnie Meeks and wife, Lavonda, Stonewall; her father,
Cecil Brannon, Ada; a sister, Cynthia Mitchell, Ada; a brother, Jim Brannon and
wife, Sophia, Oklahoma City; two granddaughters, Kirbi Meeks and Mallori Meeks,

Ms. McMinn died Feb. 25, 2004, at Ada. She was born April 18, 1978, at
Amarillo, Texas, to James Floyd and Yolanda Bevel McMinn.

She was a homemaker and had resided in Amarillo for most of her life. She had
moved to Stratford 10 years ago.

Survivors include her father, James McMinn, Amarillo; her mother and
stepfather, Yolanda and Gary Crane, Amarillo; her partner in life, Aronn
Franklin, Stratford; a brother, Randy McMinn, Amarillo; and a grandmother,
Billie Jean McMinn, Amarillo.

Mrs. Motley died Feb. 24, 2004, at an Ada hospital. She was born March 6, 1936,
at Ada to J. B. and Irene Massey Dismuke.

She attended school at Irving and Ada and was a member of Ada Baptist Temple.

She was an LPN and worked at Valley View Hospital, Mercy Hospital, Oklahoma
City, and several nursing facilities. She was later a private nurse.

She was preceded in death by a great-grandchild.

Survivors include two sons, Ronald Dopson and Donald Dopson, both of Ada; three
daughters, Elizabeth Massey, Flemington, Mo., Rebecca Bicknell and Deborah
Scott, both of Ada; her mother, Irene Evans, Ada; a brother, Pete Odom, Ada;
seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

STONEWALL — Graveside services for Norma Batchelor, 54, Stonewall, are 10 a.m.

Mrs. Batchelor died Feb. 25, 2004, at an Ada nursing facility. She was born
July 1, 1949, at Coalgate to Robert and Thelma Hilburn Kiddie. She graduated in
1966 from Coalgate High School.

She and Lonnie Batchelor were married June 29, 1968, at Sherman, Texas.

Mrs. Batchelor was employed at the Ada Retirement and Care Center as a nurses
aide. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Bobbie Riley and Sue
Ross.

Survivors include her husband, Lonnie Batchelor, of the home; two sons, Tim and
Brian Batchelor, both of Stonewall; a brother, Billy Kiddie, Sulphur; and a
sister, Lou Owens, Mill Creek.

KONAWA — Services for Zora Mae Branscum, 89, Konawa, were 11 a.m. today at

Mrs. Branscum died Feb. 25, 2004, at an Ada hospital. She was born May 30,
1914, at Konawa to William Harmon and Willie Etta Cargle Neal. She was a
longtime Konawa resident, a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

She and Orville J. Branscum were married Sept. 26, 1939, near Konawa. He died
Nov. 17, 2001.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Branscum was preceded in death by a son, Ricky
Branscum, Sept. 18, 1977;  her parents; three brothers; and two sisters.

Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Hinman, and husband Lawrence, Konawa; a
sister, Geneva Nelson, Konawa; two grandsons, Larry Hinman and Randall Hinman;
and five great-grandchildren.

She was a lifelong resident of Coalgate and member of Blessed Sacrament
Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrea S. and Maria Blua Ghigo;
three sisters, Martina Dufour, Giovanna Ralls and Anna Louise Ghigo and two
brothers, Pete A. Ghigo and Andrea S. Ghigo Jr.

Survivors include two sisters, Devina Johnston and husband Harlen, Dallas,
Texas, and Elga Phillips and husband Clifton, San Diego, Calif.; a grandson,
Dennis James Blue and wife Kelly, Edmond; a great-granddaughter, Alexandra
Blue, Edmond; numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grand nephews and other

1912.

She had lived in the Ada area all her life before moving to Texas in 2002. She
worked as a pharmacy clerk at Dicus Pharmacy for more than 10 years, retiring
in 1981. She was a longtime member of Central Church of Christ and was a member
of Beta Sigma Phi.

She married Homer Lewis Crouch. He died July 30, 1968.

Survivors include a son, Mark Crouch, and a grandson, Joshua Crouch, both of
Sachse.
