Mary Smith

Mary Smith, 79, of Amarillo died Friday, Jan. 25, 2002.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Memorial Park Cemetery
with Dr. Ron Mueller, of Palo Duro Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements
are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue
and Pierce Street.

Mrs. Smith moved from Gresham, Ore., to Amarillo in 1946. She married
Lorene G. Smith on April 8, 1944, in Elk City, Okla. She was a former
member of Sanborn Baptist Church and a homemaker.

She had been active in bowling, needlecraft and enjoyed crossword puzzles.
She also won a first prize for her canning at the Tri-State Fair.

She was preceded in death by her husband on March 2, 1993.

Survivors include two sons, John L. Smith and Paul N. Smith, both of
Amarillo; a sister, Hazel Jefferies of Amarillo; four grandchildren; and seven
great-grandchildren.
