SAUNDERS, N. "Jean" 81, of Springfield passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2011 
in the Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born in Nashville, TN on 
September 29, 1930, the daughter of Fenton "Max" and Mary Louise (Hirst) 
Stinnett. Jean was a member of Maiden Lane Church of God and was a former 
volunteer at Elderly United. Jean retired from GMAC and then continued to work 
at the offices of Dr. John Rechesteiner and Dr. Steven Burks, where she made 
many lasting friends. She was best known for her love of family and helping 
others. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert R. Saunders Sr. and 
her son Robert "Rusty" Saunders Jr. on Sept 11, 2011. Survivors include her 
daughters Bobbie J. (Paul) Rice and Jackie L. (Dean) Bartley; daughter-in-law 
Diana Saunders all of Springfield; grandchildren Duane (Ashley), Michael 
(Tonya), Cara (Brian), Tracy, Tiffany (Andrew), and Elayna; great-
grandchildren Anthony, Lauren, Alexes. James, Michaela, Dalton, Savannah, 
Allen, Madeline, Sabra, Cory, and Sophie; brother, sisters, and in-laws 
Rodney; Joyce & Marilyn; Marie, Yvonne, Miriam, and Jimmy; numerous nieces, 
nephews, and all her very special friends. A special thanks to Dr. Neravetla, 
Dr. Monjot, Dr. Varghese, Dr. Hickerson, Dr. Khana and all the RN's and Staff 
in the ICU at Springfield Regional Medical Center. Family and friends may call 
Friday from 6-8 pm in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. A celebration 
of her life will be Saturday at 10:30 am in the Memorial Home. Burial to 
follow in Oakdale Cemetery
