Miss Belinda Smith
     Miss Belinda Smith, who had reached the age of 88 years, died last
Thursday evening, at the home of her niece, Mrs. William Florance, a
short distance west of Dundee.  Prior to four years ago, deceased had
resided near Rock Stream, and was a neighbor to John L. Johnson.  She
then went to live with her sister, The late widow of Morgan Struble, and
continued to reside with the family until her death.
     Miss Smith was the oldest and last member of a family of ten
children.  She was born near Altay, in December, 1822.  Her nearest
relatives are several nephews and nieces.  The funeral was held on
Sunday, conducted by Rev. J. C. Murphey of Altay.  Burial in Tyrone
cemetery.

Miss Belinda Smith
Dundee, Aug. 12 -- Miss Belinda Smith, one of the oldest residents in
this vicinity, died at the home of her niece, Mrs. William Florece, a
few miles west of this village, about 9 o'clock last night, at the age
of 88 years.  Miss Smith was the oldest and last surviving of a family
of ten children, and was born near the hamlet of Altay, December 16,
1822.  She had resided all her life in this immediate section, and for
the past four years had made her home with Mrs. Florence.  She had no
nearer relatives than several nephews and nieces.  Burial will be made
Sunday.
