Mon. Jan 1, 1906 Feast of the Circumscion – Fannie & I went to 7 A.M. Mass.  Lena was there.
Fannie Perkins lunched with us.  Lovell called in the afternoon.  Eugene was here this morning.
I had a letter from Will asking me to spend a day or two Silver Brook Farm. Tommy in
Washington. I paid the washerwoman $14.00 Dec 30th.

Tues. Jan 2, 1906 Pleasant. Lena lunched & we all went to Vespers.

Wed. Jan 3, 1906 At home all day. Nellie Lane lunched with us.  Tommy returned from Washington.
Mrs Harry Alexandre died after ten days illness of pneumonia.

Thurs. Jan 4, 1906 Fannie & I called at Fannie Perkins.  Julia & she were out.  We stopped at
Women's Exchange.  Nothing had sold.  We rode up to 93rd St & called on Mrs Lyon who is still
to ill to see me.  Called at the Euclid to ask about Mrs Francis.  She was out walking.  I
wrote Linda Larned.  Alice phoned – all well, she sent me olive oil to try.  Wrote Julia
Munroe.  Fanie [sic] sent check for Mary.

Fri. Jan 5, 1906 Fair. Fannie & I went to 10. Mass.  Lena walked to Sprecters with us.
Donald's 25th birthday.  Mrs Ames lunched & showed us design for the red cope.  We went to the
Guild & afterwards to Vespers.  Alice phoned.  All well.

Sat. Jan 6, 1906  Epiphany Windy Fannie & I went to 10 A.M. Mass.  After lunch we went to see
Alice & took the tea pot pitcher & sugar bowl to her.  It was very cold & windy.  Tom & Tommy
home for dinner.  I was very tired & went to bed very early.

Sun. Jan 7, 1906 Fair Fannie & I went to church 10:30.  I walked with Lena & Mrs Jones to Cor
86th st.  Mr Young walked home with Fannie.  Tom & Tom Jr for lunch, & left in the afternoon
for club & to see George Kemp at W.A. I took calomel to day. Paid Mary $18.00

Mon. Jan 8, 1906 Snow. Stormy A letter from Mrs Lyon.  She is still too weak to see any one.
Box from H. for Tommy.  Fannie regulated the trunks in the store room.  Tom went to Keiths.
Tommy dined out.  Jessie phoned all well.   Snowed all day.  Fannie & I indoors – & alone at
dinner.

Tues. Jan 9, 1906 Clear & cold I did not go out to day – too cold.  Fannie Perkins telephoned,
she has a bad cold.  I expressed a box of foreign photographs to Fannie.  Read "Joscelyn
Chesires."  Tom & Tommy home for dinner & all went to bed early.

Wed. Jan 10, 1906 Cold Home all day.  Alice telephoned all well.  Tommy saw Will & Jessie at St
Regis.  Judge Barttell called in the evening.  I had gone to bed.  Tommy gave me $40.00 - out
of it I paid Fannie $5.00 he owed her & gave Tom $5.00 for bills.

Thurs. Jan 11, 1906 Foggy Tom dined with Alice.  Tommy with Kemp.  Fannie & I alone.  Mary's
day out.  I read "Two in Italy". Alice phoned.  Fannie Perkins ill with bronchitis.  We were
invited to a tea at Mrs Wilsons.  I send regrets. I wrote E.T.B.

Fri. Jan 12, 1906 Rain Too stormy for 10 A.M. Mass.  Fannie went to the Guild. Tommy dined out.
Fannie & I went to bed very early.  I wrote to Alice about the ring.  I read "Passport" by
Bagot.  Very cold & rainy.

Sat. Jan 13, 1906 Very cold Lena phoned  Dr Wardell is very ill – swollen face.  Letter from
E.T.B.  Alice phoned.  She has been quite ill with severe head ache – Fannie Perkins has
bronchitis & is quite ill. Paid $8.00 for Tommy's hat.  Mary [servant] went to a dance – home
3:30 A.M.!   Tommy dined out.  A stormy rainy night.  Very tired & went to bed by 8 oclock.

Sun. Jan 14, 1906 Snowing Too stormy for church to day.  Fannie & I at home all day.  Cleared
in afternoon.  Tom & Tommy home for lunch.  Alice & Ben married 16 years ago to day.  Eugene &
Ben came in this afternoon.  Tommy all day & evening.  We had a lovely visit with him.

Mon. Jan 15, 1906 Snowing & rain Tommy phoned for medicine. Sent messenger to 18 W 33rd 45cts.
Letter from Alice with check for $30 for ring interest.  I read  "The Passport."   I telephoned
Dr Lyon about taking potash now for a month.  Alice called me up.  She is better & Fannie
Perkins too.

Tues. Jan 16, 1906 Mary was ill this morning & Dr Johnson said she must go to bed for 10 days.
I sent her in a carriage to her Aunt 108 W 17.  She went from there to her cousin E. 55th st.
Telephone from Alice.  A woman came in to clean.  Tom & Tommy home for dinner.  Fannie & I will
get the breakfasts &c.

Wed. Jan 17, 1906 Letter from Mary.  She expects to come back in a few days.  Mary's sister
came here to see her – did not know she was ill & had gone to 55th st.  Tommy dined out.
Fannie & I went to bed early.  Barbara here to clean.

Thur. Jan 18, 1906 Tommy gave me $43.00 & receipt from Berger.  Alice phoned & is lunching with
Jessie.  Fannie Perkins still ill in bed.  Barbara here to clean &c.

Fri. Jan 19, 1906 Pleasant No Guild for Fannie or me.  We went to 10 A.M. Mass.  I walked down
to market – met Lena.  Tom & Tommy home for dinner.  Went to bed early.  Alice phoned.  Fannie
Perkins still in bed.  Dr Wardell ill.

Sat. Jan 20, 1906 Lovely I went to market.  Fannie at home.  Barbara here to cook &c.  Frank &
Annie Lawrence called.  Fannie saw them.  Alice phoned.  She & Ben had been to Rye & were
delighted they delighted may take a house next summer.  Fannie Perkins still ill.    Tom &
Tommy dined out. Barbara here.  Coffee from P. & T. 3lbs.

Sun. Jan 21, 1906 Lovely Fannie & I at home all day.  Alice & Jessie phoned.  Fannie Perkins
still ill.  Tom called but could not see her.

Mon. Jan 22, 1906 Pleasant Alice & Jessie phoned.  Fannie Perkins still in bed with pleurisy.
Tom called but could not see her. Barbara here for ½ day. Tom home dinner.  Tommy had his watch
stolen & Mrs G, minature [sic].

Tues. Jan 23, 1906 Lovely Letter from Mrs Lamphere.  Alice phoned.  Fannie P is better.
Finished in "Double Harness."  Letter from Mrs Lamphere.  Mary came back – 23rd. This night I
was taken very ill with an attack of inflammation of the liver.  I remained in bed 3 weeks for
a cure. 23. Dr Lyle came tonight.

Sat. Feb 17, 1906 Sat up for first time.  Fannie Perkins called to say good bye.  She goes to
Lakeville for 10 days.

Sun. Feb 18, 1906 Fannie went to 11 oclock Mass.  Tom called to see Fannie Perkins.

Tues. Feb 20, 1906 Dressed & walked to the dining room.  Wrote Alice - & then went to bed.

Wed. Feb 21, 1906 Rain Alice phoned me - & later her letter came $100 for me.   I was so
delighted to have it. W.C. dress. I dressed thinking to go to dinner, but was too tired & at 6.
went to bed.

Thur. Feb 22, 1906 Lovely I am so well to day!  I wrote Alice.  Lovell called this morning.
Tommy home until noon.  Eugene & Lena were here this afternoon they dine at Alice's.  Commenced
potash 3 drp.  To bed early.

Fri. Feb 23, 1906 Lovely Fannie went to 10. Mass.  I am very well to day.  Wrote Jessie.  Tommy
telepho telegraphed $25. Chicago. Fannie went to the Guild.

Sat. Feb 24, 1906 Lovely Fannie went to early Mass.  Tommy was not well & Dr Johnson came to
see him, he has been in bed all day & is very much better.    Mrs Ames called to show Fannie
the pattern for Cope – the stole.  I am very much better.  Alice phoned – all well.  Paid Mrs
Callaghan.

Sun. Feb 25, 1906 Rainy Tommy better.  He went to the Waldorf after lunch.  Fannie home all day
as I did not feel very well.  Tom home for dinner.  Tommy came later.

Mon. Feb 26, 1906 Clear & Cold Express from Chicago.  Letter from E.T.B.    Alice was here to
day.  She looked very well.  Tommy home for dinner.  Tom too.

Tues. Feb 27, 1906 Fair Jessie was here for lunch.  Tommy telephoned & we opened the bank for
$2.00 for him.  Jessie took Tommy's book "Maker of Destiny."  They go to Red Bank tomorrow Tom
received telegram of Mr John Tidway's death, he went to the house 72nd St. Shrove Tuesday
Fannie & Lena went to church.

Wed. Feb 28, 1906 Very cold Ash Wednesday Fannie went to 10. A.M. Mass.  Fr Ritchie celebrant.
Alice telephoned – all well.  Tommy gave me $50.00 & Tom paid Leicht & Brown.

Thur. March 1, 1906 Cold Tom went to Mr Tidway's funeral.  A very cold day.

Fri. March 2, 1906 Pleasant Alice here this noon & lunched.  Fannie Perkins came too.  Alice
sent me canned fruits &c.  Tom home for dinner.  Tommy came later.  Yearly Guild meeting.
Fannie went & paid 2.00 dues.  Calomel day.

Sat. March 3, 1906 Rain No one here all day.  Fannie & I alone for dinner.  Fannie did not go
out.  Alice telephoned & sent me malted milk & fruit.

Sun. March 4, 1906 Lovely day.  Fannie went to church 10.30.  Eugene & Lena were here this
noon.  Tom home for dinner. Fannie & I alone all the after noon.  Mary Feanser died at Euclid
Hall to day.

Mon. March 5, 1906 Fair Fannie went to 10. A.M. Mass.  I have a letter from Julia Munroe Feb 23
Monte Carlo.  She came from Paris in her auto car with her maid. Fannie & I walked to St
Ignatius, then to the Riverside & home – first time in weeks.  Later we went to Vespers.
Afterwards we stopped to speak to Fr R & Fr B. who walked home with us.  Tommy home for dinner.

Tues. March 6,1906 Lovely We went to Mass first time  Lina was there – after wards walked on
Riverside & enjoyed it immensely – Home by noon – Bought Brillantine for Tommy.  Letter from
Barttell. Went to Vespers this afternoon. After dinner Tom, Tom Jr Fannie & I tried to make
plans for our future.

Wed. March 7, 1906 Fine I had a restless night & did not sleep, & I staid in bed until after 2
oclock  Tom left a letter at Alices for me with the $5.00 gold piece 1810. One year to day Fred
Gould dies in Paris.  Ben Lawrence arrived Monday from Cuba.  Alice worried about a case of
scarlet fever in the next apartment.  Mrs G phone from Yonkers. Tommy was out.

Thur. March 8, 1906 Lovely Alice sent me $5.00 for the gold coin I sent her.  Fannie sent check
for Mary.  She never forgets! Tommy went to Yonkers. Mary's day out.  Mr M Tom Tommy home for
dinner.  Tommy went to play with Mrs G & party.  Lena here this afternoon.  Alice sent some
oranges by Eugene.

Fri. March 9, 1906 Lovely Fannie & I went to Mass 10 – met Lina there – after we went to
market. I paid Dairy bill $25.00 & telephone bill for Jan $3.80.  Fannie & I went to Vespers.
Tom home for dinner.  I wrote Fannie Perkins. Postal from Gussie at Cannes.

Sat. March 10, 1906 Lovely in the morning, windy & cold later Fannie at 7. A.M. Mass.  I went
at 10 oclock.  Lina & I went together to market.  Alice & Fannie Perkins called after lunch in
an automobile.  Alice sent me 12 Vichy & a bottle of malted milk Tommy sent messenger for
change of linen – home later. Belle Leavitt died in Stransport 54 years old.   Fannie & I went
to bed early.

Sun. March 11, 1906 Lovely I did not feel well enough to go to church.  Fannie in bed to day.
Tom home for dinner – Fannie phoned.

Mon. March 12, 1906 Lovely – Windy Letter from Julia  March 1st at Monte Carlo. I went to
Vespers – Tom home for dinner.  Tommy out.  Fannie Perkins telephoned, I had gone to bed.

Tues. March 13, 1906 Snowy I went to 10 Mass – met Lena & we went to market.  Mrs Ames came in
this morning & stayed to lunch. She brought the red stole for Fannie to work & took it back to
have mounted.  Alice phoned – about Jessie's maid setting fire to the trunk.

Wed. March 14, 1906 Snow Fannie went to embroidery class.  Mrs Fosdick called in the afternoon
Tom has left A. Lipper &co. He went to the Opera in Baches' box – Mrs Gwynne – Neilson &  Mrs
Collins – Carmen – Fannie & I went to bed early – very tired.

Thur. March 15, 1906 Snow Tommy gave me $20.00 "The last" ?  Alice phoned - all well.  Tommy &
Fannie arranged the library, moved the piano &c. W.B. Dinsmore died at Staatsburg.

Fri. March 16, 1906 Cold Too snowy to go out – Jessie phoned from the Holland House.  The
baby's name is changed to William Snell Fanshawe White Jessie said  Isabel is engaged to Mr
Lindsey.  I wrote Julia Munroe.  Alice phoned all well.  Fannie went "down to the trunks." I
sat up until ten oclock.  All home for dinner. A letter from Mrs Lyon at Atlantic City, she is
improving very fast.

Sat. March 17, 1906 St Patricks Day Fair Letter from Julia Barretto.  Wrote Mrs Lyon.  Alice
telephoned.  Fannie has a bad cold.  She has arranged the parlor & made everything lovely.
Tommy home until noon.  Mary out.

Sun. March 18, 1906 Lovely Fannie & I went to 11. A.M. Mass – Tom & Tommy lunched. Afterwards
Tommy & Fannie & I talked over the future plans!  Alice phoned – all well.  Murray Young walked
home with Fannie.  Mrs Ames & Mr Bolton with me.  Tom went to a lecture on Morocco.  Not very
entertaining.

Mon. March 19, 1906 A Blizzard Too stormy to go out.  Tommy home all day. Fannie busy with
sedan chairs.

Tues. March 20, 1906 Fine Letter from Geissler asking for a girdle.  Fannie took mine down &
received $6.00.  Tom left a box at Alice's with Mother's apron – from me. Tommy took the
bracelet & received $70.00 for the stones.  A letter from Alice. check $25.00.  I wrote Alice &
Jessie.  Tom saw W.S.F.  He wrote Mr Lipper.

Wed. March 21, 1906 Lovely Fannie & attended 10. Mass.  Walked with Mrs Wilson to market.  Paid
Leicht Brown & Bakery – out in the afternoon & went to Vespers.  Letter from Geissler.  Fannie
went to Mrs Haywoods about the stole.

Thur. March 22, 1906 Lovely Fannie & I went to 10. Mass.  Alice phoned for Fannie to go down
there for a talk.   Letter from Margaret. Fannie had a long talk with Alice very satisfactory.
Tommy home for dinner.  Tom bought a ball twine at Geisslers for me.

Fri. March 23, 1906 Lovely Ten oclock Mass – met Mrs Burnet.  Paid Dairy $10.00 on old bill.
Wrote Julia.  Gave Gov $5.00 for pocket piece – Alice sent me canned vegetables & malted milk

Sat. March 24, 1906 Tommy home all day.  Paid Mrs Callaghan $17.  Wrote to Julia Munroe – by St
Paul. Jessie called me up – she has gone to the country for a week.

Sun. March 25, 1906 Lovely Fannie & I attended early Mass – first time in weeks.  Went to 11
oclock & came home very tired & went to bed.  Later Fannie called Dr Lyle – the pain in my side
was so severe, he gave me a hyperdermic. Fannie & Alice called in afternoon, I did not see
them.

Mon. March 26, 1906 In bed all day.  Alice sent 12 Vichy.  Tommy home for dinner, he brought me
some daisies.

Tues. March 27, 1906 Rain Fannie went to market & paid.  Tommy dined & spent the evening.  I
went to bed directly after lunch my side pained – Mr Bolton called but Fannie had gone to bed!

Wed. March 28, 1906 Cold Fannie went to Market & paid cash.  I think it will prove very
satisfactory.  Tom & Tommy dined at home. Alice phoned all well.

Thur. March 29, 1906 Alice phone all well.  Jessie called me up.  They came in town Wednesday &
spent the night.   Billy White was ill, but better & they were going down to the Farm today.
Mrs Burnet called.  Fr R. has signed contract for reredros.  I loaned my dear boy $35.00 so
happy I could.  Fannie goes daily to market for me.  Tommy dined out.  Tom home cold dinner.
Mary out.  I read aloud to Fannie Bonneventure.

Fri. March 30, 1906 Alice came this afternoon to have a visit with us – we had a lovely time
together.  Fannie Perkins phoned – she expects to go to Washington for a visit the 8th.  I sent
magazines to Mrs Burnet.  Fannie went to the Guild.  Tommy home for dinner.

Sat. March 31, 1906 Rain Fannie went to market.  Alice telephoned – all well.  I had a letter
from Jessie – This is the 31st anniversary of their wedding.  They are at Red Bank. Tom home
early.  Tommy dined out.  I took Calomel.  Jack Lane phoned he would be here Sunday with
Nellie.

Sun. April 1, 1906 Lovely Fannie has gone to church too cold for me to go – Jack Lane & Nellie
were here this afternoon & stopped for tea.  Fan was here this afternoon – we had a lovely
visit – Tommy came before the Lanes left.

Mon.April 2, 1906 Lovely Mass at 10 this morning – We went to market – met Fr Burnett & had a
few words.  Alice sent me $25.00. All bills are paid!  Tommy home all the evening.  Fannie
played & we tried to be "gay but it was a blue evening.  "Mickie" sent me some beautiful
flowers had been sent to her.  Fannie Perkins sent a box of lovely toilet articles.

Tues. April 3, 1906 Fannie & I went to 10. Mass.  Afterwards to market.  Susan & Billy came in
car to church to meet Lina. Fannie & I went to market.  After vespers Mrs Shirley & nephew came
back to apartment & Fannie gave her some flowers.  I wrote Fan, & Mickie.  Tom dressed & went
out.  Tommy phoned he would go to theatre. Awning up.

Wed. April 4, 1906 Lovely Fannie & I attended 7. AM Mass.  Matins at 6:30  After breakfast went
to market.  After luncheon we went to Alices, Fannie went first to Mrs Macdonald & stopped at
Alices – I met Edith Allen & Mrs Erhardt there.  Tommy left for Washington this afternoon.

Thur. April 5, 1906 Lovely Mass at 10 – Mary went out -  Mr Bolton called in the evening.

Fri. April 6, 1906 Fannie & I went to 10. Mass.  Afterwards to Miss Halpin about the mohair
jackets – stopped at St Andrews to see Julia Hoyt – a pretty but delicate baby.  I phoned Lina
about Eugene whose foot troubled him.  Dr Fr. Lyle attended to it – the cable car smashed into
one standing still no one hurt.  All frightened.  Card from Tommy.  Well.

Sat. April 7, 1906 Lovely We went to 10. Mass.  Walked to 83rd to see Eugene who has had slight
attack blood poisoning from a boot pressing on his foot.  After lunch went to see Alice – who
had facial neuralgia.  Ben came in.  Fannie was not well & did not go with me  Vespers at five.
Wrote Tommy.  To bed very early.

Sun. April 8, 1906 Lovely Palm Sunday Fannie did not go out to day  She rested in bed.  I went
to ten Mass blessing of palms  Walked home with Mr Bolton & Mrs Ames.  Fannie Perkins phoned.
She goes to Washington Monday – Tom lunched with Alice Lawrence – Eugene is better, in bed.  I
did not go out this afternoon – read Isaac Williams to Fannie Paid Mrs Ames $1.10 for ball of
twine.

Mon. April 9, 1906 Rainy day.  I did not go out.  Alice phoned she was still in bed with
neuralgia in her face.  Fannie P. has gone to Washington.  Tom paid Dr Johnson's bill $3.00.
Cable this evening from Mr Kemp to Tommy "Mr Langerman died yesterday Paris.".

Tues. April 10, 1906 Rain afternoon I went to market & to 10. Mass.  Letter from Alice - $25.
Alice had a very bad day.  Letter card from Gussie – in auto tour – Orireto.

Wed. April 11, 1906 Fannie & I went to 10: Mass.  Afterwards I went to see Eugene, gave Lena a
palm.  Went to market.  Letter from Tommy – he will be home in a few days.  I mailed Kemp's
cable to him.  Fannie & I went to church at 2. Oclock. Tom home for dinner.

Thur. April 12, 1906 Maundy Matins & Mass at 7: A.M.  Afterwards we went to 10. am Mass &
procession taking the reserved sacrament to the Shrine.  Market & home – Fannie & I. Tommy
phoned he was in town.  We went to 8:15 service, procession but no benediction service.  Tommy
came home about 10. P.M.

Fri. April 13, 1906 Lovely Good Friday We went to church for 9:30 service & remained through 3
hours. Tommy home until four oclock.  Letter from Mrs Lyon.  I wrote to her & sent her a card.
Tommy's throat troubled him, he went to Dr Johnson's office.

Sat. April 14, 1906 Cloudy Wrote Jessie & sent her a card, one for Will.  In the afternoon Emma
Edsall came in & we had a long talk. Alice sent many things from Acker & Merall – all most
delicious.  Mrs Ames here this morning.

Sun. April 15, 1906 Rain Easter A rainy day, we went to 7. Mass the church beautiful.  Murray
Young found us coming out. Tommy Fannie & I went to the afternoon service.  Mrs Wilson joined
us & we had a long talk.

Mon. April 16, 1906 Fannie & I spent the afternoon with Alice.  Letter from Jessie & Pauline
Hamilton.  Fannie Perkins home from Washington.  Phoned me. Mass at 10 this morning.  Wrote
Pauline Hamilton.

Tues. April 17, 1906 Lovely Paid Gas bill 5.40 Paid electrician 2.00 Mass at 10.00.  Mrs
Hawthorne walked to market with me.  Fr B – joined us.  Tommy left for Washington – a telegram
to him from the G. Jessie sent me her photograph.

Wed. April 18, 1906 Lovely day.  Fannie went to Dr White – dentist.  I walked over to Columbus
Ave. looking for a packing trunk.   Letter from Tommy – home Thursday.  Linda Larned called.
Terrible earthquake in San Francisco.

Thur. April 19, 1906 Lovely I went to market - all greatly distressed about Frank's safety in
San Francisco.  Mary's day out.  Sent cards to Mrs de Peyster's tea.  Wrote to Evening Journal
about Frank.  Phone from Alice.

Fri. April 20, 1906 Fannie & I went to 10: Mass.  Afterwards to market.  Tommy arrived this
evening.

Sat. April 21, 1906 Fannie & I went to Alice's after lunch, found her ready to go to Lakewood

Prouty.   We drove in Alice's cab up 5th Ave. & through the Park home.   I have been busy all
afternoon putting away winter clothes.  Paid Mrs Callaghan $16 for trash. No news from Frank.

Sun. April 22, 1906 Lovely We went to 7 A.M. Mass.  Murray Young said good bye".  He sails 25th
for Paris.  Gave Miss Hubbard a letter to Travers.  Wrote Carl Nott.

Mon. April 23, 1906 A stormy day & quite cold Nellie Lane came this morning with the news that
Frank had telegraphed "Detitute [destitute?] send money" to Mr Davis who wired $50.00. Nellie
left after lunch.  I've written Frank.  Tom & Tommy staid here until afternoon so stormy.  Fan
phoned she was well.

Tues. April 24, 1906 Pleasant Went to Market.  Home all day.  Tommy went on board steamer to
see Mrs Gwynne off.  Murray Young sailed too!

Wed. April 25, 1906 Lovely St Marks day.  Fannie & I went to 10. oclock Mass.  Alice phoned &
we are going down to see her.  Later Fannie & I met Frances at Alices, we had a lovely
afternoon.  Eugene came in, it was 6 oclock when we started for home.  Tom & Tommy home all the
evening. Lina was at 10. Mass & we walked to market together.

Thur. April 26, 1906 Lovely Tommy had a severe ear ache last night.  Fannie & I tried to help
him, but he suffered very much, early this morning Dr Johnson came & helped him.  I have
written Fannie we will not lunch Friday with her.  Dr Johnson came at 11 to night, he found
Tommy much better less inflammation.  Fannie & I slept in Tom's room to be near Tommy.

Fri. April 27, 1906 Lovely We did not go to Mass.  Fannie & I remained at home with Tommy who
is much better.  Went to market. Dr Johnson here this morning.  Tommy much better!  Alice
phoned.  At night I was taken quite ill with the old pain.  Fannie sent for Dr Lyle.  He gave
me a hyp [hypodermic].

Sat. April 28, 1906 Ill all day in bed.  Dr Lyle came in the afternoon & gave me a hypo.

Sun. April 29, 1906 No one went to church to day.  I was better to day.

Mon. April 30, 1906 Much better to day.  Tommy quite well & went down town.  Letter from Frank
& Pauline - first since the fire.

Tues. May 1, 1906 Lina lunch here.  Tommy home.  I dressed & sat in the parlor.  Alice quite
sick neuralgia in her side.  First day of sale.

Wed. May 2, 1906 Jessie was here this morning in the auto.  Julia White & Billy waited for her.
Tommy home & saw Jessie. I was up & dressed.  Fr Ritchie reception.  I could not go & Fannie
would not.  Letter from Fannie Perkins & 18.

Thur. May 3, 1906 Box from Chicago.  Fannie & I went to market.  Calomel day.  Tommy home until
afternoon.

Fri. May 4, 1906 No one went to Mass to day.  I read House of a Thousand Candles to Fannie
while she embroidered.  Alice phoned she is still ill with neuralgia.  Tommy home until
afternoon.

Sat. May 5, 1906 I went to market & read to Fannie who embroidered.  Tom home for dinner.
Fannie telephoned. Julia well. Alice phoned.

Sun. May 6, 1906 Fannie & I went to 10. Mass.  Fr Burnet celebrated.  Mrs Lyon was there, &
Lina, Mrs L. & Fannie & I walked to Br?ting drug store where I had Dr Lyle's prescription made
up.  All home for lunch.  Tommy commenced the tonic.  Fannie Perkins for tea.  Fannie F. & I.
Tommy came in later.

Mon. May 7, 1906 Cool Went to market.  Fannie resting to day.

Tues. May 8, 1906 I twisted my neck in stooping down, & it wrenched some muscles & was very
painful all day.  I remained in bed.

Wed. May 9, 1906 In bed part of the day.  Alice phoned.  I finished the girdle.  Miss Marcia
Brooks called.

Thur. May 10, 1906 Anniversary of Addison's  death 1900.  Home all day, read aloud.  Tommy
home.  Alice phoned.  I wrote Fannie Perkins.  Paid telephone bill $2.50.

Mon. May 14, 1906 Rain Carrie Delano phoned.  She would not lunch with us on account of the
rain.  Fannie & I walked to Mrs [blank] about the red stole. Tommy home for dinner.

Tues. May 15, 1906 Lovely Fannie's ch 2 postals from Pauline.  Fannie embroidered & I read to
her.  Mary went to Macy's.  Tommy's barrel came! The bisque he gave to Fannie.

Wed. May 16, 1906 Lovely.  I walked to Spreters 79th & Broadway with Tom bought 3 prs stockings
for Tommy.  Alice phoned & will send Vichy.  Mary took to day for day out.

Thur. May 17, 1906 Fannie & I went to say good bye to Carrie Delano, a very hot ride the cars
were crowded & we were very tired.  I went to bed very early.

Fri. May 18, 1906 Very hot.  I went to Spreter's with Lina - bought some stockings for Tommy.
In the evening Tom went for cream to LarFimer.  Alice sent 24 Vichy.

Sat. May 19, 1906 Hot Fannie & Mary took the parlor curtains down & arranged the parlor for
Summer.  Tommy may sail the 24th. Fannie telephoned. Alice spending day at Rye.

Sun. May 20, 1906 Lovely Early service Fannie & I.  Lena there.  Father R. celebrant Mass at
11.  Lena & I walked home together. Tommy home all day.  Mary out, we had a fine cold tea - &
ice cream.

Mon. May 21, 1906 Rogation Day Fannie & I went to 10. Mass & afterwards I walked to 10th  st &
Riverside with Mrs Ames & Mrs Lyon We sat there until noon.  Tommy phoned he had made
arrangements to sail on Kaiser Wilhem II Tuesday but would go aboard to night.  We helped him
pack & at 12 he drove to the steamer.

Wed. May 23, 1906 Lovely Fannie & I went to Mass at 10. A.M.  We showed the finished red stole
to Father Ritchie who thought it "very handsome"  Afterwards we went to Mrs Haywoods & Fannie
left the stole there to be made up.  I took Tommy's lamp to be repaired.  We went to market.  I
wrote Jessie.

Thur.May 24, 1906 Lovely Ascension Day Mass at 10. Afterwards we went home with Lena.  Posted 3
letters to Tommy.  Letter from Julia.  In the afternoon Fannie & I went to see Julia Nott &
babies.  Fan sent us home in a Victoria – fine drive.  Alice sent me ginger ale &c &c..  Fan
promised to spend Sunday with us.  Letter from Miss Walton.  Answered. Congratulated her &c.

Fri. May 25, 1906 Lovely Mass at 7. A.M. Fannie & I.  Letter from Jessie – answered.  Wrote
Julia Munroe.  Paid all bills. Paid Harry Lyle's bill.

Sat. May 26, 1906 Went to market.  Fannie Perkins came after lunch - & staid until Monday.  She
slept in Fannie's bed room – we had a lovely time.

Sun. May 27, 1906 We went to church 11 – it poured in torrents – just after we were in.  Tom &
Fannie were home to gether & we were all home the rest of the day.  Eugene & Lena at Rye with
Alice.  Fannie P.  Fannie & I sat up until 11 oclock.

Mon. May 28, 1906 Cold Fannie went home by 11 A.M.  Tom posted 4 letters for Tommy.

Tues. May 29, 1906 Lovely day.  Alice phoned this morning.  Fannie & I went to the C. Club
services at St. Ignatius – 11.  Met Rev Mr. Stewart & Miss Barretto.  Hankinson sent home the
rug $1.60.

Wed. May 30, 1906 Memorial Day.  Jack Hildt & "Mary" a little girl came in to lunch & Mrs.
Ames.  We saw the procession & afterwards I read to Fannie. "Yolanda".  Tom not home for
dinner.  Wrote Tommy.  Alice phoned.

Thur. May 31, 1906 Lovely Mrs Ames here for dinner.  Mrs Haywood brought the cope at 5 ock. it
is most beautiful.  Mr Bolton called in the evening & we tried the cope on him. Tom at home.
Calonel night. Sent $15.00 to Chicago.  Nellie Lane lunched with us.

Fri. June 1, 1906 Fannie went to 10. Mass.  Mrs Ames here.  She & Fannie carried the Cope to
the Church & left it in sacristy.  Mrs Ames lunched with us.  Fannie Perkins here for dinner &
in the evening Fannie F. played the pianola.  Pianola arrived! Alice gone to Rye.  Phoned "good
bye".  Jessie sent me a white silk tea gown.

Sun. June 3, 1906 Lovely.  Fannie resting.  I went to 10. A.M. Mass the Father wore Fannie's
stole when preaching, it was very handsome.  Mrs Ames Mr Bolton & Mrs Haywood walked home with
me.  Fannie Perkins here for dinner.  The cope worn the first time to day at Benediction.  We
did not go out.  Mrs Burnet & Bessie called.

Mon. June 4, 1906 Lovely Box from Chicago arrived.  Did not go out to day.  In the evening
played the pianola.  Washer woman came for day $1.50. Vichy came & oil.

Tues. June 5, 1906 Expressed box to Tommy.  Went to market.  Fan telephoned "good bye."

Wed. June 6, 1906 Letter from Fan with check.  Tom did not come home until after dinner.  Very
hot, in all day.

Thur. June 7, 1906 Hot I arranged Tom's chiffnoir.  Home all day, too hot to go out.

Fri. June 8, 1906 Mass at 10.  Mrs Lyon & Lena there.  Went to market.  Posted a letter to
Tommy & one from Mrs G. Fannie went to embroidery class.  Alice phoned from Rye.  She has had
asthma.  I was very tired & went to bed early.  Bought white sailor hat for Fannie $3.19.

Sat. June 9, 1906 Lovely Fannie went to Mass.  Tom paid $3.50 insurance tax for Tommy.

Sun. June 10, 1906 We went to 7: A.M. Mass.  Father B celebrated & at 11. A.M. Fannie & I went
again.  Mrs Ames Mr Bollon walked home with us.  A terrible wind storm came up.  Tom not home
for dinner.

Mon. June 11, 1906 St Barnabas Day Mrs Burnett joined us & Mrs Lyon.  Bessie B. quite ill, they
feared appendicitis.

Tues. June 12 1906 We went to Alice's – had a nice visit, & walked home through the park –
lovely.

Wed. June 13, 1906 Mrs Cowen, Mr Foster's nurse phoned they would come for lunch.  We had a
lovely time.  Mr Foster's coachman came for them at 2:30.  We all enjoyed it very much.  I was
tired & went to bed at 7:30!  Letter from Tommy, he was well & happy.  I wrote to him to day
for steamers Thursday "Barbarossa".  Meeting at Union Club.  Tom had a lovely time.

Thur. June 14, 1906 Corpus Christi – Fannie & I went to church thinking there was 10. oclock
Mass.  There was none.  Lena was there & Mrs Wilson.  Afterwards we rode down to Alice's.  She
was in bed, met Dr Lyon there.  We walked home through the park perfectly lovely - had lunch  &
felt fine.  Mary's day out.

Fri. June 15, 1906 Very hot.  Mass at 10 A.M.  Mrs Ames Mrs Lyon & Lena there.  Father B. said
Bessie was no better. Nellie L. phoned.  Wrote to Tommy.

Sat. June 16, 1906 Rainy.  Went to church with Fannie.  Read Joan d'Arc.  Flower of France.
Mrs Lyon came in before lunch. Wrote to Nellie Loring - & to Altman about some shoes.  St Paul
sailed to day - with a letter to Tommy.

Sun. June 17, 1906 Showers.  Fannie & I went to 8. oclock Mass.  I did not go out again.
Bessie & Mrs Burnett were at church, Lena & Mrs Lyon.  Fannie went at 11. A.M.  Mary out.

Thur. June 21, 1906 Lovely.  Letter from Tommy June 11th & one from Carrie Delano.  Jessie
phoned & we went to Holland House to see her.  She sent me some things by express.  Wrote

Fri. June 22, 1906 Friday Fannie & I went to Mass 10 oclock came out with Lena.  A letter from
Wrote Tommy for Steamer "New York" sailing 23rd   Alice came in by auto & phoned for us to go
down.  Paid telephone bill $2.40. Ordered "All for Love of a Lady to be sent to Tommy.  We went
to Alices.  She sent us home in a carraige [carriage].

Sat. June 23, 1906 Fine.  Fannie & I went to 7 Mass.  Letter from Crothers, he had mailed the
book to Tommy.

Sun. June 24, 1906 Sultry.  Church at 11.  Miss Barretts there & lunched with us.

Mon. June 25, 1906 Wrote Tommy.  Alice phoned from Rye for [blank] Read aloud to Fannie - Proud

Tues. June 26, 1906 Went to market.  Met Lena & had a long chat with her.  Alices letter came
in afternoon.  Tom took my watch to Macy's to be repaired - done July 6th. Paid gas bill for
May $5.80. Met Bessie Burnett.

Wed. June 27, 1906 Lovely.  A letter this morning from Tommy written 16 & arrived 27th.  Fannie
went to embroidery class.  In the evening Howard & Lilias called. Alice was here this morning
in her auto. Posted a letter to Tommy for Thursday's steamer. Dr Lyle phoned.  No more medicine
for a while.

Thur. June 28, 1906 This morning Fannie & I went to the optician 38th & 5th  ave to be fitted
to glasses.  Present from Alice.

Fri. June 29, 1906 Hot.  Fannie & I went to Mass & market.  Wrote Tommy.  Home all day. Very

Sat. June 30, 1906 Very hot.  2 nice letters from Tommy written 20th & 22nd .  Kate Dinsmore
arrived to day - is at the Manhattan.  Letter to Tom posted to day.  Letter from Jessie saying
she would meet me at Griffens at 1 Monday to select wall paper for parlor.

Sun. July 1, 1906 Very warm.  We went to 11 A.M. service.  Lovell & Anita here this evening.

Mon. July 2, 1906 Fannie. Very warm.  Kate Dinsmore phoned for us to go there to hear about
Tommy.  I phoned Miller 1370. 38.  I could not meet Jessie there.  Wrote Tommy for Tuesday
steamer - & later Kate came to see us - it was so warm I did not go out.  Kate brought a card
case to Fannie & 6 more chairs to me.  Very hot day.  I wrote Jessie & Alice.  Letter posted to

Tues. July 3, 1906 Hot! I went to Mierwitz for my glasses.  Fannie resting & did not get up
until dinner.  I read to her "My Sword for LaFayette".  A heavy storm this evening & during the
night.

Wed. July 4, 1906 Pouring.  Mary took to day instead of Thursday 12th.  Posted a letter to
Tommy for Friedrich der Grosse sailing the 5th.

Thur. July 5, 1906 This morning I went to market.  Alice phoned from 171. W. 59 & I went down
there & then we went shopping around & she brought me home in the auto.  Eugene met us before
we started & came up too.

Fri. July 6, 1906 Mass at 10. Fannie went to see Lena & then to Nalpins & home - tired out -
bed early. Letter from Fannie Perkins & Jessie.  Met Eugene at L's apartment & had a long visit

Mon. July 9, 1906 Lovely. I went to market & then to Lena's where I staid for lunch.  In the
afternoon I read.  Wrote Tommy.  Letters from Julia Munroe & Linda.

Tues. July 10, 1906 Went to market & met Alice in auto.  She stopped for me & I went down town
with her.  A storm came up soon after we reached the apart. &  Gene & Frank Lawrence came &
Alice sent us home in a cab.  Letter from Tommy.  Wrote him & Julia. Miss Walton married at
Grace Chantry.

Wed. July 11, 1906 Fannie & I went to Miss Halpins in the afternoon - & to see Lena - Jessie
phoned me from Holland house it was too warm for me to go down there.

Thur. July 12, 1906 Hot Julia & Julia Hunt dined here & we had a lovely time.  They went home
early.  Tom going with them.  Julia brought me a beautiful gold & pearl pin, a card case &
Fannie a "Vanity bag".  Julia goes to day to Bar Harbor & Julia H to Tupelo.  Tuesday she
returns to Paris.  Jessie phoned for me to go to Holland house but I couldn't.

Fri. July 13, 1906 Hot. Mass at 10. in the Chapel.  Market afterwards.  I read Scarlet
Pumpernel.  Mr Bolton called in the evening. Wrote Tommy for Saturday's steamer.

Sat. July 14, 1906 Hot. Market & Tom went to the library with me.  I bought a coffee pot 50
cts.  Fannie received a letter from Mrs Lampher.

Sun. July 15, 1906 Went to early service the last before the old altar.  Fannie went at 11
oclock.  Mary out.

Mon. July 16, 1906 Hot Alice phoned us from Rye they would stop in Auto for Fannie & me at 3 &
we were ready & with Eugene & Lena Fannie & I went to Rye.  We arrived before six oclock.  Ben
was home.  A lovely time.  Fannie Perkins came in car from Black Point Sunday with Ben & Alice
to Rye.

Tues. July 17, 1906 At Rye! Eugene & Lena came to town with Ben at 8 A.M.  It poured all the
after noon, but we had a lovely time together.

Wed. July 18, 1906 Clear. We went in the car to Tarrytown to Orphan Asylum.  After lunch we had
a wonderful ride to Bedford & all through that country.

Thur. July 19, 1906 Lovely. This evening we went for a lovely ride.  After lunch Fannie
Perkins, Fannie & I drove home in car - through Larchmont.  Arrived about 5.  Tom home.  Eugene
here ready to return in car to Rye.  Fannie Perkins spent the night with us.  Leaving for Black
Point tomorrow.

much inflamed.  Dr Lyle came & ordered a solution dropped in & not to use the eye. Alice
stopped here on way out with E. Lina  & Donald.

Sun. July 22, 1906 Hottest day. No church to day.  We moved a bed in the library for Tom.  Dr
Harry Lyle here & ordered the light kept out & the solution to be freely used.  The heat
terrible.

Mon. July 23, 1906 Hot. Dr Lyle here.  Tom's eye better.  Alice phoned, she had had a poor
night.  Letter from Tommy.  Letter from Julia M from Bar Harbor.  Halpin came for her money -
paid $31.55.

Tues. July 24, 1906 Tom much better - he dressed & sat in the parlor.  Billy White better.
Letter posted for to days steamer to Tommy. Tom walked out this evening.  Alice phoned she is
town & will call up Harry Lyle for her asthma.

Fri. August 3, 1906 Bessie Burnett came this morning.  Fannie went to Mass at 10.  Fr Burnett
said the Mass.  Pam Decides" from the Library.  Letter from Fannie Perkins.  Paid Sarah $6.00.

Sat. August 4, 1906 A very hot day. This evening was the hottest we have had.  Fannie & I
called at the hospital to enquire about Mary & we called at Dr Shannon's.  Mary will be out by
Thursday.  Met Mrs Krebs.  Stopped at Library - took "Awakening of Helene Richie".

Sun. August 5, 1906 Hot! Church at 11.  Fr Burnett celebrated the mass was in the Lady Chapel -
the high altar not in order.  Reredos not finished.  Sarah went away this evening - telegraphed
for from Timpldo [Tupelo?]. I wrote Fannie Perkins.  Mary.

Mon. August 6, 1906 Letter from Carrie Delano - from Veray. Maria came to wash. Letter from

Tues. August 7, 1906 Went to market & to see Lena.  I met Mrs Burnett there.  Maria here to

Wed. August 8, 1906 Cooler.  Lena came in this afternoon to say good bye - goes to Wmstown
Friday.  Mary came from Hospital. Eugene & Donald here this evening.

Thur. August 9, 1906 Fannie & I went to Tiffany's & sent a silver spoon to Isabel Fanshawe.
Went McCutcheons & credited K. D. - hand kerchiefs - $9.00. In the evening Eugene was here.
Jessie phoned from the Farm to ask us aboard the Rambler Friday Mr Fisk's steam yacht. Wrote to
Alice.

Fri. August 10, 1906 This morning Tom, Fannie & I took the subway to 23rd & there the crosstown
car to N.Y.J. Club float at East 23rd st.  Jessie & Jessie came over in the launch & we went
aboard the Rambler  - & then sailed up the Sound.  We lunched & at 3 oclock the boat brought us
back to 23rd st.  We had a charming day.

Sat. August 11, 1906 Home all day.  I read "Giants Gate".  Not feeling all right in my side.  I
went to bed early.

Sun. August 12, 1906 In bed all day, fighting off an attack.  Fannie staid with me.  Tom came
home to lunch.  I took Calomel to day.

& Jessie. Mary's day out.  Fannie & I walked to market.  Too hot for more.

August 17, 1906 Fannie & I went to Mass - very warm - I mailed a letter to Tommy.

August 18, 1906 Hot Fannie went to 7 Mass. A box from Jessie - Isabel's wedding cake.

August 19, 1906 Fannie went to 7 Mass.  So hot I did not go - home all day.  Tom posted a
letter to Alice & Crothers.

August 20, 1906 Very hot.  Indoors all day.  Read aloud to Fannie.  Tom home for dinner.  Wrote
Tommy.

August 21, 1906 Very hot all day.  Tom, Fannie & I had ice cream party in the evening.

August 22, 1906 Fannie Postal from Tommy.  Letter from Alice.  She leaves the 29th.  I wrote
Alice Jessie & Carrie Delano.  Fan has gone to York to be with Alice.  Ben gone West.

August 23, 1906 Two letters from Tommy.  I wrote to him for Friday steamer & wrote Kate to take
a parcel for me to Tom. Wrote Nellie Loring Mary & Lizzie Agnew.  Mary out to day.  Paid Brown
$19.81.  Letter from Jessie.

August 24, 1906 In doors all day.  Read "Cardinal's Musketeer".  Tom dined down town.

August 25, 1906 Met Nan Lane at market.  Walked to Sprecters to ask about Tom's stockings.

August 26, 1906 Fannie & I went to 11 Mass & saw the new reredos - very beautiful.  Mrs Moris
came home to lunch with us.  Jack Hildt called in the afternoon.

August 27, 1906 Hot Jessie phoned from the farm they had decided to sail the 30th on the
Amerika for Europe - all going but the babies they stay at farm.  Later Jessie Jr phoned from
Holland House Mr & Mrs Benedict going too.  I wrote Tommy & sent it by "Bremen" sailing 28th.

August 28, 1906 Letter from Alice $25.  She will be in Rye Wednesday.  Eugene came this
evening, they are home from two weeks at Schatz.  Letter from Jessie she will be in town
Wednesday & will call me up.  Left my coat at tailors to be fixed.  We stopped at church for
few minutes.

August 29, 1906 Eugene brought me some celery.  I phoned Lena.  Tom paid 2 months gas bill
$10.00.

August 30, 1906 Fannie & Tom & I went to Lord & Taylor's at 10 A.M. to meet Jessie - Isabel &
Lena & say "good bye". The steamer sailed at 2.  We came home.  Alice came in the auto &
brought me some white flowers.  Wrote Tommy for Friday.

August 31, 1906 Letter from Pauline H.  We went to 10 Mass.  Walked down with Lena.  Alice came
in auto for Tom he left her to stay until Tuesday.  Sam Larned here this evening. Flowers from
the "farm".  Fannie took some white flowers to the church - Father B. stopped & chatted with us
outside 200.

September 1, 1906 Fannie wrote Miss Bradley about Mrs Laupher's order.  Paid paper bill 1.90 -

September 2, 1906 Fannie & I went to 7 Mass.  Mrs Moris came home to breakfast & staid until
nine in the evening.  She had a lovely time.  Benediction at 4 - Father Ritchie.

September 3, 1906 Labor Day Letter from E.T.B. he has been 2 months ill.  I have written to
him.  Wrote Fannie Perkins.

September 4, 1906 Men came to paint the floors & paper the parlor.  Fannie & I slept in our
rooms last night - but wont

September 5, 1906 Men papering parlor - nothing to do but read & wait for them to finish.

September 6, 1906 Painters left to day - we shall sleep in Tom's room.  Alice phoned she was
delighted at Rye & will stay over Sunday.

September 7, 1906 Mass a 10.  Lena & Fannie & I went to market.  All day we have arranged the
parlor & bed rooms.  Wrote Tommy.  Paid Lorhimer $1.60 ice cream.  The rugs all swept by
William - gave him a $1.00. Met Mrs Lyon.  Flowers from the farm.  Fannie carried some to Mrs
Lyon.

September 8 1906 My 64th birthday. A dear letter from Alice & $10.00.  Two lovely collars from
Fannie.  I wrote Alice & Tom who is still at Rye.  Paid $5.00 to Bakery.  Went to Market.  Met
Eugene.  Alice & Eugene came this afternoon in the car & brought heaps of flowers & Tom sent me
wild flowers he had gathered.  Fannie carried the flowers to Fr R for altar, he was pleased to
have them for Sunday.

September 9, 1906 The reredos & Chantry were hallowed by Bishop Webb at the Litany.  Fannie & I
at home alone all the afternoon.  Mary out.

September 10, 1906 Hot Wrote Jessie & Tommy - Billy Vile & E.T.B. Tom returned from Rye.
Painters here for dining room.  Alice lunched here & at 4 - Eugene - Fred Young stopped in the
car & they all went to Rye.

September 11, 1906 Sultry. Flowers from the Farm.  Letter from Tommy.  Tom took $9.00 to pay Dr
F. Lyle he was off on his vacation & he did not leave it.  Bought stockings to send Tommy 11
1/2.  Fannie & I went to Market.

September 12, 1906 Sultry & hot.  Rain. Fannie took flowers to St Ignatius & to Mrs Burnet.

September 13, 1906 Went to Lena's this morning.  Stormed in the afternoon.  Letter from Jessie
& postal of Amerika.

September 14, 1906 Mass at 10. Fans & frames from Tom delivered to day by friends who brought

Marie.  Fannie carried flowers to church & gave to Fr R.

September 16, 1906 Early celebration 8.  Mass at 11.  Mrs Shirley & Mintoro came home with us,
he played the pianola. Afternoon vespers.  I gave 50 cts to Mr R to give to a poor blind boy at
church.  Early to bed.

September 17, 1906 Warm Alice phoned from 170.  Fannie & I went there after lunch.  She told me
of Julia Terry's severe illness. Tom took calomel.  Alice check 25.00.

September 18, 1906 Warm. Tom home this morning.  Paid Brown $17.00.  Stopped to see Lena who
was expecting Schatz, Fannie -

September 19, 1906 Very hot - in all day.  Julia Munroe telephoned from Hotel Manhattan it was
too hot to go there.  She expects to go T with Mrs Speyer.  Alice in town & phoned.  Wrote
Tommy.

September 20, 1906 Very hot to day.  We did not go out.  Wrote Marie in reply to her letter.

the cope - then Julia took car for hotel.  Lena's leg troubled her.

September 24, 1906 Cool & Lovely Letters from Tommy written 13th.  I wrote him to day for
"Barbarosa"  due Oct 4th Fannie Perkins here.  She dined with Lillias. Calomel

September 25, 1906 Lovely Two letters from Tommy.  Wrote him for "Baltic" sailing 26. Alice
phoned & sent check.  Spent an hour with Lena who was in bed.  Bessie here.

September 26, 1906 On the Riverside with Mrs Lyon.  Went to market & home for lunch.  Sister
Virginia here in afternoon played the pianola then Agnes came to dress Fannie's hair & Fannie
Perkins came.  Staid for dinner. Beatrice here.  Engaged to come when Mary's leaves.

September 27, 1906 (Thursday) Letter from Jessie - 19th in London.  Fannie's birthday quietly
spent.  Fannie Perkins came this afternoon & remained until Friday noon.

September 28, 1906 Fannie Perkins here - we did not go to Mass.  Emma Edsall came about 11
staid for lunch.  Telephoned Virginia & Gertrude Jerome to meet her here.  Tom came up to
lunch.  After all had gone Fannie & I went to vespers.  Posted a letter to Tommy - per St
Louis.  Flowers from the farm.

September 29, 1906 St Michael & all angels Letter from Tommy 22nd.  Mass at 10.  Alice phoned -
we go there at noon.  Went to Alice's in her auto.  Dr Lyle & Fannie Perkins came in & Annie
Lawrence.  Fannie & I came home in the cars.  Later Fannie dined with Howard & afterwards spent
the night here with us.

September 30, 1906 Mass at 7.  It poured & we went to 11 oclock.  Fannie P. home with Tom.  We
staid home rest of the day - & after dinner Howard went home with her.

October 1, 1906 Fannie phoned & Alice too.  Mary left for another place.  Fannie note - paid
Mary $14.40 amount due her.

October 2, 1906 Sarah Gooden came this morning.  Alice phoned - her letter came with check
$35.00.  Letter from Jessie enclosing one for Lovell which I mailed at once - by Fannie.

Alice phoned me.  Mrs Burnett called I did not see her.  Sister V Clement here.  Tom home for

left tonight when Beatrice came.

October 4, 1906 Lovely. Alice here this afternoon in car with Frances Nott.  Letter from Fan
$25.00 for Fannie & servant wages.

October 5, 1906 Fannie 10 Mass.  The pianola went to Fannie Perkins.  Mothers 88th birthday.
Alice phoned from Rye & Fannie phoned.  I called up Lena, Eugene was out.  Lovell received the
letter from Jessie.

October 6, 1906 Rainy Market & met Mrs Lyon.  Julia Munroe phoned.  She will call for me
tomorrow at 3:30 & dine here.  Jessie due at 2:30 on St Paul.  Letter from Tommy - written
26th. A letter sent to Tommy to day.

October 7, 1906 Church at 11.  It rained when we came out & no umbrella.  Julia Munroe came for
me to ride at 3:30 - Mrs Speyer's electric.  Julia dined with us.  Fannie & I - Tom dined out.
Gave Julia stockings for Tommy.

October 8, 1906 Alice & Fannie here in auto this morning.  After lunch Fannie & I went for a
walk & Alice in the car with Lena stopped on Riverside for us & we had a lovely ride. Wrote
Tommy for Tuesday's steamer.  Wrote Jessie Miss Barreto

October 9, 1906 Letter from Carrie Delano.  Answered Mrs Dickinsons letter about Mary.  Jessie
phoned from Alice's.  It poured & Fannie & I could not go down there until 2:30 & she had gone.
We visited with Alice & came home in a shower later.  Jessie brought me a black fur coat & a
silk skirt & waist for Fannie.  I wrote Jessie to night.

October 10, 1906 Fannie went to the embroidery class.  I went to market.  In the afternoon we
regulated!  Tom brought me a box of tea Julia Munroe left at the hotel for me.  Something china
Mr Morgan had given her.

October 11, 1906 Cold Fannie & I went to Matins 6:30 & Mass.  Later Fannie went to the exchange
& to see Fannie Perkins & had a long talk with Alice - most unpleasant.  She came home in auto
& brought my fur coat.

October 12, 1906 Mass at 10 A.M.  Afterward we went to market.  I read to Fannie.  Telephone
from Fannie Perkins.  Wrote Tommy for St Paul sailing Saturday 13th.  Saw the baloon [sic] red-
green & yellow.

October 13, 1906 Lovely Market.  Posted a letter for Fannie to Miss Macdonald.  Fannie & I met
Mrs Lyon & had a walk on Riverside.  Fannie P telephoned me.  Alice Lawrence is quite sick,
nothing serious.  Watched preparations for the balloon ascent.

October 14, 1906 Lovely Church this morning & Benediction in afternoon.  Beatrice out.  We all
had "cold tea" together.  I read Marie Corelli's "Treasure in Heaven"

October 15, 1906 Fine Letter from Tommy written Oct 5th & $1.00 in American stamps.  Wrote
Tommy for Kaiser W sailing 16 - due 22nd.  The air ship expected to sail but did not.  Fannie &
Frances both here.

October 16, 1906 Great excitement over the "air ship" in the tent opposite - crowds all day -
Fannie & I watched it & dined in the parlor!  Alice's letter & check came.  Tom lunched with
us.  Telephoned Fannie - she was too tired to come up.

October 17, 1906 Paid gas bill $11.80.  Went to market.  Emma & Kate Dinsmore here.  Nellie
Lane came this morning with Jack who came to dinner.  They went home about 8:30.

October 18, 1906 St Luke's Day Rain.  Bought a clock for kitchen 1.00.  We went to 10 Mass.  Fr
R. had the service.  Father B. out of town. Fannie telephoned she could not lunch.  The balloon
not going up.

October 19, 1906 It rained & we did not go to Mass.  Mrs Macdonald sent some napkins to be
hemmed by Guild.  Newspaper from Tommy.  I wrote for "New York" sailing the 20th.  Miss Bradley
called this afternoon & said the 2 doz. napkins I left at Guild to be hemmed for her would be
done.  Gave Miss B a cocktail.  It poured in torrents this evening. Fannie on the lounge.

October 20, 1906 Rain & wind Tom home until noon.  Read me his letter to the R.R. Co.  Fannie
in bed.  Two letters from Tommy Oct 11th & 13th all well.  Postal for Fannie from Gussie who
sails 7th.  Wrote to Jessie.

October 21, 1906 Very stormy.  No one went to church.

October 22, 1906 Wrote Tommy for Tuesday's steamer Baltic - Two letters from Tommy 7.

October 23, 1906 Warm Went to market & spent three hours with Lena.  Wrote Fannie Perkins &
enclosed library notice.

October 24, 1906 Calomel I paid Leicht balance of his bill $29.59.  Went to market.  Home with
Fannie.  Alice's letter with check $25. Letter & veiling from Kate Dinsmore.  Answered letter
at Belmont hotel.

October 25, 1906 Kate Dinsmore phoned for us to go there.  Tuesday Fannie & I arranged Tommy's
clothes.  Beatrice out. Fan & Alice were here in auto this afternoon.  I gave Alice some of Mr
Morgan's tea.

October 26, 1906 Lovely Fannie & I went to 10 Mass.  Walked with Lena to Riverside & 83 st.  We
sat there until 12:30.  Home for lunch.  Tom came in.  Alice phoned for us to go in the car but
the plumber was here & we had many things to do & we declined.  Fannie went to the Guild.

Kemp.  Carrie Delano called & did not leave until dark.  Letter from Alice - check $25.00.

November 1, 1906 All Souls Saints Day Cold & lovely Church with Fannie at 10 A.M.  Walked to
market & then home with Lena - came back to lunch here alone - Gave Tom $4.00 for his tailor's
bill. Fannie went to Women's Exchange & to Fannie P's.  All out.  After lunch we went to Lena's
& stayed until 5:30.

November 2, 1906 All Souls Mass at 10 oclock.  Fannie, Lena & I walked to her apartment.
Fannie went to Guild.  We had a walk before dinner.  Fannie Perkins telephoned this evening.

November 3, 1906 Lovely Mass this morning at 7.  Fr R. celebrant.  I went to market & bought a
bottle of cough medicine for Beatrice.  Called at Lena's.  Letter from Jessie.  Went to the
church ?9 Pslm? Met Lena & we walked on the Riverside.  Met Lilias & Howard.

November 4, 1906 Lovely day Fanine & I went to 10 service.  Lena came out with us met Eugene &
they went to Fannie Perkins for noon dinner.  Murray Young walked home with Fannie.
Benediction in afternoon & then called at Mrs Lyon's. Tom called to Lillias in evening.

November 5, 1906 Lovely Home all day regulating.  Plumbers here to repair leak in middle wash
place.

November 6, 1906 Fine Election day - After market Fannie & I walked to Grant's Tomb & back.
Met Mrs Lyon who joined us - a glorious day & we had a lovely walk.  Paid Beatrice $18.00.
Fannie Perkins telephoned.  Cable from Tommy he sails 7th Kaiser.  Mrs Lampher here this
afternoon.

November 7, 1906 Lovely Went to market & then to the church.  Mrs Lyon & I walked back to
Bretton Hall it was windy & she went in to see Dr Johnson & I came home.  Phoned Alice to day.
Could not go there.  Carpenter did not come to finish the plumbers work.  Tommy sailed for home
on Kaiser Wilhelm - Paid washerwoman $2.00 for extra work.

November 8, 1906 Lovely Fannie & I home all day.  I read Face of Clay.  Eugene here for a
little while to see Tom.  Letter & check 18.00 from Fannie Perkins.

November 9, 1906 Lovely Fannie & I walked to Riverside - when we arrived home - found Jessie &
Isabel had been here.  Curtains hung & parlor & Mass at 10.  Fannie went to Guild.

November 10, 1906 Arranged Tommy's room & busy all day arranging apartment.  Letter from Tommy
dated 29th Paid ice bill $5.00.

November 11, 1906 Rainy Church at 11.  Father Paul from Boston preached.  Cowley Father.
Murray Young walked home with Fannie.  Benediction & vespers.  Fannie & I alone for dinner.

November 12, 1906 Home all day.  Marconi at 10.5 P.M. from Tom on Kaiser Wilhelm 2nd via
SLascousett [Printed capital L after leading S] .  Mass sent at 8:30 P.M.  Busy all day getting
Tommy's room ready!  What joy to know he is is hear [sic].  Phone from Fannie Perkins.

November 13, 1906 Tommy arrived at three oclock after a fine voyage - he was delighted to be
home again.  We all dined & spent the evening together.

November 14, 1906 Cold Paid Dr Johnson $27.  Arranged Tommy's things with Fannie.  Tommy went
down town.  Fannie wrote Alice & thanked her for her cheque.  Miss Bradley called this
afternoon.  I went to bed very early.

November 15, 1906 Fannie Snowed & rained all day.  We did not go out.  Tom home early.  I read
"Anna" aloud.

November 16, 1906 Wrote Mr J Alden Weis about buying West Point.  Paid .54 for coffee.  Tom
home & read "Anna Adventurer"

November 17, 1906 Cloudy.  Went to market.  Watched the air ship taken away.

November 18, 1906 Church at 10:30.  Very warm.  Mrs Lyon joined us & we walked home with her.
Tommy home for tea. Tom did not come.

November 19, 1906  Monday Lovely. Went to market.  Stopped to see Lena, Mrs Saffred there.
Gussie Childs called.  She returned Saturday from Europe.  Alice telephoned all well.

November 20, 1906 Market.  At home all day.  Rained afternoon.  Letter & check from Alice.

November 21, 1906 Gussie dined with us - we had a lovely time.  Letter from Miss Barretto.

November 22, 1906 Home all day.  Beatrice Hall out for the day.  Fannie & I arranged the dining
room.  Mrs Yates phoned to Tommy - I took the message.

November 23, 1906 10 oclock Mass.   Fannie & I.  Lena was there we went to market together & I
walked home with her. Tommy home for lunch.  Paid for coffee.  Fannie went to the Guild.  Wrote
Julia Munroe & Miss Barretto.

November 24, 1906 Cold Postal from Lovell in Paris - 11th - having a fine time.  Alice phoned &
Fannie & I went down there.  Dr Morris was there.  Alice gave me a black velvet hat. She has
promised to send tickets for Saturday matinee - Cleopatra.

November 25, 1906 Lovely Early church 8 A.M.  Fr R celebrated.  Mr Y walked home with Fannie
after 11 service. Tom Tommy & I home together afternoon & morning.  Wrote Alice asking her to
change the day of theatre - to next week.

November 26, 1906 Went to market.  Gave Tom $2.00.  Nellie Lane wrote to me they were at Mrs
McAfee 333 West 58th & I telephoned her there.  I went to St Ignatius for a quiet time. Ned
Leavitt married Mrs Bean.  Nine months since Belle Leavitt died. Calomel.

November 27, 1906 Alice sent me soups preserves, fruits &c from A.C. & Merrall.  Tommy home
until after noon.  Read Under the Rose.

November 28, 1906 Phoned Nellie Lane & after lunch Fannie & I called there, asked them to
dinner tomorrow.  Fannie carried some grapes to Father Burnett.  Fannie & I walked from 58th st
to 72nd stopped at St Andrew's to see Schatz - she was out - stopped at Lenas all out.  Paid

November 29, 1906 Thanksgiving Day Jack & Nellie Lane here for dinner.  Tom Tommy - Fannie & I.
We had a lovely time.  I went to 10 Mass. Lena & I Schatz there.  Fannie & I walked to Lena's.

November 30, 1906 St Andrews Day.  Mass at 10.  After Fannie & I walked to Spretters.  Fannie
Perkins phoned & will see all about Nellie Lane & the hospital.

December 1, 1906 Went to market & to Sprecters, bought bowls & clothes basket & exchanged Tom's
stockings 3 pairs. Fannie & I went to the Library - 81st st.  St Ignatius at 2:30.  Lena
phoned.

December 2, 1906 Very cold.  Church at 10:30.  Walked home with Fann Alice Lena.  We went to
Benediction & afterwards Fannie Perkins dined with us.  Howard came for her.

December 3, 1906 Cold & storm Mrs Fosdick brought cards to address for the sale.  Gave her
Wardell's address.  Tommy hung his tapestry in the hall.  Alice sent me 12 bottles salad oil &
phoned.

December 4, 1906 Mrs Fosdick here for lunch we directed envelopes for the sale.

December 5, 1906 Fannie & I went to a matinee Cleopatra & Cesear at New Amsterdam theatre.
Alices treat.  We enjoyed it immensely.  Tom was waiting for us when we came out.  Chandelier
had been lowered.

December 6, 1906 Cold Beatrice day out.  In the morning Fannie & I went to McCutcheon & bought
bathe clothes & handerchiefs on the $9.00 credit.  The chandelier was lowered in the dining
room Wednesday & we made a lace shade for it to night.  Tommy home about 8 oclock.

December 7, 1906 Very cold.  We went to 10 Mass & walked to the Library cor 81st st.  Tommy
home until noon.  Fannie went to the Guild.  I remained at home & regulated the closet in Tom's
room.  Phoned Nellie at 58th st & Lillias phoned she would come in the evening.

December 8, 1906 Snow & rain - in doors all day.

December 9, 1906 Very cold.  Church at 10:30.  Murray Y walked home with Fannie Mrs Wilson & I
together.  Lena at church.  All home in the afternoon too cold to go out.  Tom called on Lena
Lindsley they were out.

December 10, 1906 Stormy & fearful walking Tommy went out in the afternoon.  Fannie & I home

afternoon Fannie Perkins came here & we went to the sale - she brought a picture frame here Tom
had made.  In the evening Tom went for Fannie - her table made $81.00.

December 13, 1906 Fannie Home all day.  Fannie went over to arrange & pack up the things from
table.

December 14, 1906 Mass at 10.  Market.  Lillias came in.  Tommy called on her.  Read to Fannie.
Tommy home for dinner. Phoned Nellie Lane.

December 15, 1906 Warm Market & then to see Nellie Lane - went to 180 W. 59 with her to see Dr
Yorker.  While she was there I went to 170 to see Alice - she was out.  Home for lunch.  Paid
45 cts for Pond's Extract. Alice phoned & came for Fannie & me in the car.  We went up the
Boulevard & home.  Anniversary of my wedding day - 1863 - at 39 W. 20th.  Tom, Fannie, Tommy &
I at dinner no one knew it was the anniversary.

December 16, 1906 Church at 10 - it rained when we came out.  Mr Young walked home with us.
Tom & Tommy home until afternoon.  Lena & Van Sinderen called we were all home & delighted to
with [sic] him.  Tom went to the Club.  Tommy home for dinner.  "The sale made over $600" Lena
at church.

December 17, 1906 Stormed all day. Fannie & I at home no telephones.  Charlie O?rlernd?en came
to dinner unexpectedly - he stayed until 11 oclock - we enjoyed his visit very much.  In the
morning Dr Wardell called to thank me for a letter I had written to her.  Alice's letter &
check.

December 18, 1906 Cold & Clear Tom paid gas bill $5.40.  Fannie went to the Library & brought
Crawford's books for Tommy.  Later we went to Sprecters - bought 2 prs stockings  - 11 1/2.  A
long letter from Pauline Kruger.

December 19, 1906 Clear & Cold Mass at 10.  Ember day - Fannie remained for embroidery class.
Went to Market.  Mrs Wilson walked with me.  All home at dinner. Beatrice came in at 2:15 A.M.
She said she had been to Brooklyn which I doubt.  Sent Pauline's letter to Nellie.

December 20, 1906 Snowy & dreary.  Tommy home.  We read Dr Foote's letters - written 1853.
Phone Ball to send Kimono.  Tommy phoned Eugene to know about his cold - much better.  Fannie
Perkins phoned "What do you want for Xmas" - Nothing.

December 21, 1906 Too stormy to go to church.  Fannie went to Miss Bradley's to embroider.
Alice phoned.  I called up Nellie Lane.  She was well.  Wrote long letter to Pauline Hamilton.
Took 4 1/6 grs. Calomel.  Stogan [?] sent for night dress to be returned & Tommy's card plate.
Letter from Fannie Perkins - $20.  $10 for Fannie & me. Gave Tom $5.00 for Xmas.

December 22, 1906 Stormed all day.  Plant from Jessie & note.  Greens from Alice.  Wrote Alice
and sent her a frame embroidered by Mother.  Wrote Jessie.  Letter & $25 from Julia Munroe.
Gussie Childs here.  Tommy gave Fannie the silver toilet set he arranged it on the dressing
table to surprise us. Wrote E.T.B. & sent Xmas card.

December 23, 1906 Very cold.  Church at 10:30.  Walked home with Lena.  Stopped in to see
Eugene who has been ill with a cold.  Tom & Tommy home all day.  Benediction this afternoon.
Murray Young walked home with Fannie & then came to Lena's for me.

December 24, 1906 Christmas Eve Very cold.  Fannie & I went to church at 11:30 & then to
market.  Letter from Alice $25.00 for any purpose.  Fannie arranged the Holy Night - lights &c.
Beatrice went to the theatre & remained out all night coming in at 7.15 A.M.

December 25, 1906 Christmas Fannie & I went to 8 Mass.  Fr R. celebrated.  Tom went out after
lunch.  Beatrice did not come in until 7.15 A.M.  I wrote Sarah about her.

December 26, 1906 Wrote Julia Munroe, Alice, Frank H.  Alice & Fannie called this afternoon.  I
read Call of the Blood to Fannie.  Tommy brought home Mr L's gold embroidered Turkish dress.
Sarah & Mrs Whiting Beatrice came in answer to a letter saying I would not keep her as she
remained out so late nights  - but I decided to give her another chance. Fannie & Alice here
this afternoon.

December 27, 1906 St John Evangelist Fannie went to Mass after lunch I went with Fannie to
market & paid some bills - 4 night dresses came from Sterns to us.  Wrote Alice about Beatrice
who refused to remain with me because I complained to her sister about her.  Tom paid Dr Lyle
$9.00 Tom took 2 blue pills!

December 28, 1906 Fannie & I went to 10 Mass.  Beatrice decided to remain.  Alice drove Fannie
& me to see Nellie Lane. She goes to the hospital to morrow.  Jessie wrote me from Silver Bank
Farm they hope to come in by Jan 15.  Wrote to Alice Lawrence thanking her for her plant.

December 29, 1906 Stormy.  We did not go out.  Busy all day.  Looking through boxes for Tom's
brown suit.  Nellie Lane went to the maternity.

December 30, 1906 Church at 11.  When we came home Jack Lane phoned "Heard the News - "?  Well
Frank Hamilton died yesterday or to day" terrible shock!

December 31, 1906 Telegraph from Pauline Hamilton dated Dec 29.  "Frank Hamilton died this
morning of pneumonia".  Tom wired sympathy. Nellie Lane's little son arrived at 11 this
morning. Tom Hamilton called this afternoon.  Mr Davis had wired money to Pauline.
