Broker; aunt of Jean (Chick) Henn, Joan Harris, Holly (Daniel) Miller and
Nancy (Randall) Pipkorn; great-aunt of Shannon, Kimberly, Ashley, Katlyn,

career included Nurse at EJ Meyer Memorial Hospital, nurse for Erie County
Health Dept., public health supervisor for Buffalo Public and Parochial
Schools, Public Health Supervisor of Well child Clinics of Erie County. Jean
was a strong contributor to local Erie County Republican Party in post
retirement. She was employed by Erie County Legislator William Pauly 1991-1996
at which time she performed innumerable services to the constituents of the
14th Legislative District. For her service she received the Ledwith J. 'Bud'
Brennan Jr. Memorial Award from the Amherst GOP. Jean was a tireless volunteer
at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church serving as a Eucharistic Minister in
addition to her continual service throughout the community for which she
receive a community service award in 1990. Jean then retired to Mesa, AZ with
her twin sister Joan. During this time Jean continued her service to the
community by volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul in Mesa, AZ. Jean was also a

Howard, Mary V.   
Formerly of Lackawanna, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2004 in Burlingame,
California. She had resided in Fort Myers, Florida for the last 13 years,
where she was an active member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and the
Ladies Auxiliary Guild of the Knights of Columbus. Mary was an avid reader,
and especially loved traveling to spend time with her children and
grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, John J.
Howard in 2000. Also preceding her in death were her brothers Donald Kennedy,
George Kennedy, Gerald Kennedy and Joseph Kennedy and her sister, Evelyn
Bausch. Surviving are her four children, John D. (Diane) Howard of Cleveland,
OH, Daniel J. (Renee) Howard of Dallas, TX, Patrick D. (Lee Anne) Howard of
Katonah, NY, and Marybeth Howard of Burlingame, CA; and was the loving
grandmother of Melissa, Amanda, Mary Alice, John, Heather, Daniel, David and
Laura. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 27, 2004 at
9:30 AM at Our Lady of Victory Basilica in Lackawanna with interment to follow
