Morehouse, Michael J.
COLONIE Michael Joseph Morehouse, age 55, died suddenly Saturday, August 14,
2004 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Kentucky. He is
survived by his wife, Tracey Papa Morehouse; two children, Spencer William
Morehouse and Taylor Melissa Morehouse; one sister and three nieces. Summary
words for Michael Morehouse for this particular page of the newspaper is a
privilege and a daunting challenge. Michael's humble southern beginnings were
influences that shaped an incredible character. He had a respect for and a
practical attachment for nature. The fish will be safer now that he's gone,
and the silence in his ever-productive workshop will always sadden us in the
fondest way. You can't have clever hands without a mind to match, and both
were always busy and productive. Although notably silent and gentlemanly on
the subject, Michael served his country voluntarily and honorable in Vietnam.
His handling of this experience typified him and spoke volumes without a
single word. A need of a shortened hem on a pair of pants led him to a tailor
where he met a young lady who not only altered his pants but his life as well.
Michael and Tracey married fortunately and well in the estimation of everyone
around them. We will miss that union and enjoy fondly storytelling about it.
Fatherhood and the love of his children, Spencer and Taylor, came happily and
easily to Michael. These have been happy years filled with love, friends,
travel and lively celebrated occasions. Thank you Michael; we will miss you;
you left us to soon, but better than you found us. Funeral services will be
held in the Lasak & Gigliotti Funeral Home, 8 Dudley Heights, Albany (opposite
the Philip Livingston School on Northern Blvd) Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may also call at
the funeral home Monday 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in Saratoga National
Cemetery, Schuylerville. Those desiring may send a remembrance in Michael's
name to St. Peter's Hospice, 315 So. Manning Blvd., Albany, N.Y. 12208, the
American Liver Foundation, 75 Maiden Lane, Suite 603, N.Y. N.Y. 10038-4810 or
