AVERY & the McDowell Administrators to SAMUEL BYRD in consideration of Four Hundred & Eleven dollars for three Negros was duly proved in open court by the oath of WILLIAM A. HENSLEY a subscribing witness thereto in the following words & ___ to wit: 1832 February the 22nd. Received from SAMUEL BYRD of Buncombe County No. Ca.. a note of hand bearing date 21st February 1832 for four hundred and eleven dollars which when paid will be in full for the purchase of three Negro Slaves towit: CELIA about thirty Six years old and one child about two years old named SARY and the other child about eight months old named BETSY. Which said Negro Slaves we hereby warrent against the claim or claims of all persons what so ever laying claim to the same. And we further warrant them to be salves for life & no further.
