Mrs J. R. Owens Passes Away
Mrs. J. R.
Mrs. Marie Owens, beloved wife of Rev. J. R. Owens of Mars Hill, after being
very ill for several weeks at a hospital in Asheville, died about one
o'clock Monday, November 24, age 42.  The funeral was conducted by Dr. R. J.
Bateman of Asheville and the body interred in the cemetery of the Mars Hill
Baptist church.
The Pall bearers were Mr. J. A. Ramsed, L. J. Anderson, N. S. Whitaker, R.
L. Moore, L. D. Edwards, and E. R. Elmore.  She is survived by her husband,
Rev. J. R. Owens, who is a member of the faculty of Mars Hill College.
