WALL, Julius Fabius 1862 - 1927

Julius Fabius Wall, the son of Julius Fabius Wall and Elizabeth Woolfolk Wall,
was born June 4, 1862, about ten miles west of Windsor, and passed away in St.
Joseph hospital, Kansas City, Missouri, April 15 1927. His boyhood was spent in
the neighborhood in which he was born. In 1875 he moved to Windsor, spending
the following year in Texas. He spent one year in Central College, Fayette,
Missouri. In 1880 he entered the grocery business in Windsor with his step-
father, James Harvey Bass, his own father having been killed in the battle of Lone
Jack, in August, 1862. In 1881 he engaged in the furniture business in Windsor
with his brother, Eugene Wall. About two years later he became associated with
Dr. R. L. and Wills Shadburne in the drug store, after buying the entire business.
For over forty years he had been proprietor of the J. F. Wall Drug Store in
Windsor, his place of business being the center of interest for his legion of
friends. Straightforward, honest, reliable and the soul of true kindness he has
enjoyed a remarkable business growth in Windsor. In the passing of Mr. Wall, it is
safe to say there has never been a man any where so loved, and who will be so
sorely missed in his home and community. His unselfish thoughts and deeds
testified his deep capacity for friendship. He was a friend to everybody - a kind
loving husband and father, and no mother-in-law ever had a kinder, more
thoughtful son. Almost his last words were words of affection for his wife and
three small grandchildren. On July 6, 1882, he was united in marriage to
Katherine Burress, the daughter of J. M. and Mallie Burress. To this union were
born three children, Dr. Harvey Monroe Wall, Windsor; Maggie Lee Wall, who died
in infancy, and Virgil Dillon Wall, St. Louis. In addition to these he leaves one
brother, Eugene E. Wall, Windsor, and three sisters; Mrs. Kate Carmichael, Holden,
Mo.; Mrs. Sallie Keen, Pueblo, Colo.; and Mrs. Bess Rex, Drexel, Mo. Also the
following nieces and nephews; Charles S., Julius F., Jr. Logan D. and John W. Wall,
Mrs. Helen W. Pigg and Mrs. Anna Elizabeth Broadhurst. As a mark of the love and
esteem in which Mr. Wall was held it was the most largely attended funeral ever
held in Windsor, and the floral offerings were many and beautiful. In addition to
people residing in the country being in attendance there were many here from
surrounding towns and other states. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. T. H.
Hickman, Pastor of the Methodist Church, assisted by Rev. J. A. Bryson, pastor of
the Baptist Church, were held at the family home on North Main street Sunday
afternoon at 2 o'clock and interment was made in Laurel Oak cemetery.

request. Father preceded her to the better world ten years ago. She joined the M.
