     'Funeral Services Held Here Last Friday Fro Mrs. Welch.' 'Last Rites for
     Well Known Stanberry Woman Were Held at the Methodist Church Friday.'

     Funeral services were held here last Friday morning at 10:30 o'clock at the
     Methodist Church for Mrs. Henry Welch, who died very suddenly at her home
     here last Wednesday morning.

     Mrs. Welch, who had been ill, was thought to be well on the road to
     recovery, and she, as well as other members of her family, was looking
     forward to the arrival of Mrs. Chester Gray from Washington, D. C.   Mrs.
     Welch passed away just as her daughter entered the door of the Welch home.

     The following obituary has been furished this office: Mary Ellen Reade,
     daughter of Samuel C. and Sarah Jane Reade, was born near Onslow, Jones
     coutny, Iowa, April 29, 1858, and passed away April 6, 1932, at Stanberry,
     Mo., aged 73 years, 11 months and six days.

     She was married to Henry Welch on November 20, 1879, at Anamosa, Iowa, and,
     with the exception of two years in Hamilton county, Iowa, lived in Jones
     county until March, 1902, when she came to a farm near Stanberry, with her
     husband and family.

     She is survived by her husband, Henry Welch, and the following children;
     Mrs. Chester H. Gray, Miss Lila Welch, Mrs. C. K. Snelling, Lloyd L. Welch,
     Mrs. C. R. Miller and Clayton Welch.  The oldest child, Freddie Leon, died
     in early childhood.

     She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Ruth Kinney, and three brothers,
     A. N. Reade, Jerry Reade and Samuel Reade, all of Iowa.

     She united with the Methodist Church in her early married life, and had
     been a faithfull member and worker since.

     Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. E. C. Morgan of Brookfield,
     Mo., former pastor here, assisted by the Rev. W. H. Yount and the Rev. N.
     O. Rogers.

     Music was furnished by Prof. B. H. Ringler, Mrs. A. E. Tibbetts, Miss Lou
     Fullerton, Dr. R. Y. Dix and W. P. Warriner, with Curtis Besinger at the
     piano.  Prof. Ringler played "Ave Marie' on the violin with piano
     accompaniment.

     Pallbearers were: Lester Hawthorne, A. E. Tibbetts, Marion Ross, A. B.
     Vogt, Dr. H. J. Dunshee and Jack Stapleton.  The body was interred in the
     High Ridge Cemetery, with the funeral in charge of the Pennington
     Undertaking Co.
