Walter Don Banning

Walter Don Banning was born September 17, 1927 to Roy Wilson and 
Mary Catherine (Simmons) Banning, and passed away October 12, 2016.
He was a Seabee in the United States Navy during WWII aboard the 
U.S.S. Chilton, serving in the Pacific. After the war, he moved 
to Tempe, Arizona. 
He met his wife, Norma Hawkins, when he moved back to Missouri. 
They moved around the country following the road construction 
companies that he worked for. He also drove over-the-road with 
his friend, Bob Bock. 
On August 30, 1968, he was ordained at Lakewood Missionary Baptist 
Church in Shirley, Missouri and pastored several churches during 
his 30 plus years in the ministry. 
He was well known for his enjoyment of buying, selling, and trading. 
He also enjoyed camping and fishing. After his retirement from AMAX 
Mines, he and Norma spent several winters in California, Arizona 
and later Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Mary Banning; his 
wife, Norma; brother, Robert Banning; sister, Mary Strange and 
husband Charles; son, Donald Worley; great granddaughter, Shaina Kay; 
and brothers-in-law, Obie, Stanley and Ward Hawkins, Eugene 
Stramberg, Donald Blair and Jack Henry.
He is survived by his sister, Nancy Stramberg of Wentzville, 
Missouri; children, Melvin Worley and Karen (Allen) Isgrig, all 
of Steelville, Missouri, Dan (Linda) Banning of Sullivan, Missouri, 
Janet Conway of Eldon, Missouri and daughter-in-law Jean Worley of 
Mountain View, Missouri; grandchildren, Amy (Tommy) Mounce and 
Chris (Tasha) Isgrig all of Steelville, Missouri, Tennille Banning 
and Valerie Taylor of Sullivan, Missouri, Vanassa (John) Banning

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2016 
at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home and from 1 p.m. until time of 
service on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at the Lakewood Missionary 
Baptist Church in Shirley, Missouri.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 16, 2016 
at the Lakewood Missionary Baptist Church in Shirley, Missouri 
with Bro. Doug Brower and Bro. Alvie Enloe officiating. 
Committal prayer given by Leonard Compton and interment with full 
military honors by the U.S. Navy and Potosi VFW Post 6996 were in 
the Lakewood Cemetery, Shirley, Missouri.
Casket bearers were Tommy Mounce, John Schwab, Christopher Isgrig, 
Richard Gillam, Richie Gillam and Michael Martin.

David Kenneth Blevins

David Kenneth Blevins of Cuba, Missouri was born on 
November 1, 1959 in Rolla, Missouri to Dale and Carol (Lerbs) 
Blevins and passed away Monday, October 10, 2016 at the age of 
56 years.
David graduated from Cuba High School and moved to St. Louis, 
Missouri. He worked as a bus boy for Teutenberg's Bakery & 
Cafeteria and later as a janitor for St. John's Lutheran Church 
in South St. Louis, Missouri. 
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Cuba, Missouri. 
He enjoyed watching TV and Seek-A-Word puzzles.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Russell Blevins, 
Minnie Blevins-Prince, Herman Lerbs and Elfreda Smith.
He is survived by his parents, Dale and Carol Blevins of Cuba, 
Missouri; one brother, Paul and wife Brittni Blevins of Mansfield, 
Texas; three nephews, Reese, Avery and Graham Blevins; uncles and 
aunts, Larry and wife Tena Blevins of St. James, Missouri, June 
and husband Forrest Pierce of St. Louis, Missouri, Marie Fears of 
Thompson, Georgia; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 from 10-11 a.m. 
at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 11 a.m. 
at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Pastor Joe Ed Pederson, 
officiating.
Interment followed at the Mounts Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri

Luther Ray Ira Burns

Luther Ray Ira Burns of Cuba, Missouri was born on January 5, 1972 
in Sullivan, Missouri to Bruce Burns and Anna Mae Padgett and 
passed away Friday, October 7, 2016 at his home at the age of 44 
years.
Luther enjoyed spending time fishing, hunting and mechanic work.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bruce Burns and wife Sondra;
 grandparents, Luther and Mary Burns and William Ray Padgett; and his 
aunt, Rita Burns.
He is survived by his daughter, Felicia Downey of St. Clair, 
Missouri; his mother, Anna Mae Sell of Gravois Mills; fianceˇ, 
Sandra Hall of Cuba, Missouri; four brothers, Bruce "Frankie" Burns 
of Union, Missouri, Chris Burns and fianceˇ Pam Warren of Union, 
Missouri, David Doolin of St. Joseph, Missouri and Michael Strubberg; 
one sister, Anita Meyer of Gerald, Missouri; grandmother, Shirley 
Eckenfels and husband August of Stover, Missouri; other relatives

Interment was in the Woodman Cemtery.

Robert Eugene Durrett

Robert Eugene Durrett of St. James, Missouri was born in Floyd 
County, Indiana on February 15, 1933 to Robert and Eura (Farris) 
Durrett and passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2016.
On August 2, 1974 Robert married Ruth Haacke. 
Robert and Ruth strolled though this life hand in hand for just 
over 42 years. Robert was the ultimate father and grandfather. He 
loved nothing better than getting out in the yard and playing ball 
or making swings to play on. He loved his home and being outside 
mowing the yard or working in his beautiful garden that he tended 
so lovingly so that family and friends could enjoy fresh vegetables 
when harvest time came along. 
Robert was a car enthusiast, he enjoyed classic cars, building and 
racing drag cars, his favorite was a 1968 Pontiac GTO that he still 
has today. 
Robert was a Maintenance Forman at Manchester Packaging. 
He is survived by his wife and companion, Ruth Durrett, of the home; 
children, Vikki Parsell and husband Charles of Rolla, Missouri, 
Cheryl Mainer of Springfield, Missouri, William Durrett and wife 
Darlene of St. James, Missouri, Joby Massey and husband Terry of 
St. James, Missouri, Breen Mainer of St. James, Missouri and Sue 
Durrett of Germantown, Tennessee; brother, Richard Durrett and 
wife Joan of Libson, Wisconsin; sister-in-law, Barbara Durrett of 
Grays Lake, Illinois; grandchildren, Jennifer Durrett, Jam

officiating. 
Internment was at the Matlock Cemetery.

Donald S. Elliott

Donald S. Elliott of Cuba, Missouri was born on February 7, 1929 
in West Plains, Missouri to Fred and Mary (Nasalroad) Elliott and 
passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at the age of 87 years.
Donald learned about hard work at a young age, as he helped his 
father in the logging business. He later worked as an auto mechanic 
and retired as a supervisor from Argo Manufacturing in St. Louis 
after many years of dedicated service. He honorably served his 
country in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed living at Indian Hills Lake, 
taking care of his lawn, gardening and spending time in his garage 
tinkering. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Mary Elliott; 
one brother, Floyd Elliott; one sister, Dorothy Lewis; one grandson, 
Eric Fields; one brother-in-law, Delmar Cooley; and two 
sisters-in-law, Isle and Edna Elliott.
He is survived by his four children, Gary and wife Rachael Elliott 
of Oregon, Sherry and husband Tim Pope of Branson, Missouri, Jeff 
Elliott of Cuba, Missouri, Tim and wife Becky Elliott of 
St. Clair, Missouri; two sisters, Jewel Cooley of Cuba, Missouri, 
Mildred and husband Clyde Smotherman of St. Clair, Missouri; three 
brothers, Chester and Dwayne Elliott both of Thomasville, Missouri, 
Leo Elliott of Doniphan, Missouri; former wife, friend and mother 
of three of his children, Peggy Elliott of Jackson, Missouri; five 
grandchildren, Ryan Mercurio, Jeremiah and Noah Elliott, Katie 
Griffith; five great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

2 p.m. at the Mizell Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral service was held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 2 p.m. 
at the Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Moore, officiating.
Interment with full military honors followed at the Meramec Hills 
Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.

Kathleen Mary Griffin

Kathleen Mary Griffin of Gerald, Missouri was born on May 23, 1938, 
in St. Louis, Missouri to George Washington and Margaret Maryann 
(McDermitt) House and passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at 
the age of 78 years.
On December 13, 1956, she was united in marriage to Jimmy Eugene 
Griffin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy; brother, Felix 
John House; and sister, Cloretta Clubb.
She is survived by her children, David Wayne Griffin of Cuba, 
Missouri, Mary Elizabeth Willimann of Rosebud, Missouri, Julienne 
Griffin of Gerald, Missouri and Richard Paul Meyer and wife 
Christine of House Springs, Missouri; sister, Geneva Skouby of 
Ocoee, Tennessee; brother, George Anthony House and wife Connie 
of Maryland Heights, Missouri; eight grandchildren; 27 great 
grandchildren; other relatives and friends. 
Her body was cremated and graveside services for family and friends 
were held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Boeuff 
Presbyterian Cemetery in Gerald, Missouri.

Noel Steven Hammock Sr.

Noel Steven Hammock Sr. of Cuba, Missouri was born July 10, 1947 
in Lepanto, Arkansas to Murray and Mary Etta (nee Reeves) Hammock 
and passed away Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the age of 69 years.
During the seventh grade Noel's dad passed away and he had to 
leave school to help take care of the family and to work on the 
farm. 
Noel was an excellent chef and worked at many nursing homes, 
restaurants and even owned his own deli shop in Sullivan, 
Missouri years ago. He would spend hours watching the cooking shows 
and then recreating the recipe at home. His lasagna was truly the 
best.
Noel enjoyed family trips to Branson, he raised diamond doves and 
even has a pair of gold doves named Elvis and Pricilla. He made 
ceramics for years and everyone in the family got a ceramic 
Christmas tree. 
Noel married Cindy Sutton on February 19, 1994 at the Bible Baptist 
Church in Cuba, Missouri.  
He was preceded in death by his parents, Murray and Mary Etta Reeves. 
He is survived  by his wife, Cindy Hammock of the home; four sons, 
Noel S. Hammock Jr. of Illinois, Benjamin "Ben" Hammock and friend 
Cidni Ehren of Cuba, Missouri, Wesley Hammock of Cuba and Caleb 
Hammock of Cuba, Missouri; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Firenza of 
St. Charles, Missouri and Chayce R. Hammock of Cuba, Missouri; one 
great grandson, Parker Firenza of St. Charles, Missouri; one sister, 
Mary and husband Joe Cox of Sullivan, Missouri; one brother, Benny 
and wife Janice Hammock of Sullivan, Missouri; mother-in-law, Terry 
Scott of Steelville, Missouri; step mother-in-law, Diana Sutton;

at the Mizell Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri with special music of 
"Daddy's Hands," "Will the Circle be Unbroken" and "Go Rest High 
on that Mountain." 
In keeping with Noel's wishes cremation followed the funeral service.

Lillian Ellen McCann

Lillian Ellen McCann of Cuba, Missouri was born Saturday, 
December 13, 1947 at Sullivan, Missouri to William H. "Budge" 
and Winifred Ann (nee Moody) Gunn and passed away on Thursday, 
October 13, 2016 at the age of 68 years.
Lil was the oldest of nine children. She attended school in Cuba, 
Missouri and in her very young years she went to the Catholic 
Church with one grandma on Saturday evenings and the Methodist 
Church with her other grandma on Sunday mornings.
Lil's nickname growing up and on into adulthood was "Ding". During 
her working career she worked at Convey Shoe, Voss Truck Port, 
San Val and the Cuba Thrift Store. 
Lil married Hoyt E. McCann Jr. on August 10, 1974 at the 
St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Cuba, Missouri. 
Lil bowled on a league for years, spent hours crocheting, crafting 
and quilting. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. 
She enjoyed going to auctions, thrift stores, flea markets and to 
the boat. She played cards at the Cuba Senior Center and you 
didn't call if "Blue Bloods" or the "Voice" was on TV.
She loved road trips, family reunions, raising plants, gardening 
and mowing grass. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Budge and Winifred Gunn. 
She is survived by her husband, Hoyt McCann Jr. of the home; four 
children, Janice Brummet of Cuba, Missouri, Bill and wife Twila 
Taber of Berryville, Arkansas, Hoyt E. McCann III and fianeˇ Terry 
of Cuba, Missouri and Beau and wife Dessa McCann of Springfield, 
Missouri; six grandchildren, Dani and husband Jeremy Schultz of 
Springfield, Missouri, Chelsea Taber of St. Louis, Missouri, Jordan 
Brummet of Cuba, Missouri, Winter Parker of Cuba, Missouri, Carter

Gladys Roberta Oder

Gladys Roberta Oder of Steelville, Missouri was born July 3, 1921 
in Farmington, Missouri to Knowles L. and Mary Elizabeth Marshall 
Klob and passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at the age of 95 
years, 3 months and 8 days.  
On June 28, 1947 in Flat River, Missouri, Gladys married 
Harold E. Oder and to this union three daughters were born.
Gladys grew up in the Farmington area on a farm. She was a member 
of the Park Hills Presbyterian Church for many years and served 
as President of the Presbyterian Women, as an elder and clerk of 
the session. She and her husband, Harold, enjoyed traveling 
throughout the years whether it was to see their children who 
lived in other states or places of interest.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Knowles and Mary Klob; 
her husband, Harold Oder; and two brothers, Henry Klob and wife 
Mary and John Klob.
She is survived by her three daughters, Mary Major and husband 
Bill of Steelville, Missouri, Carolyn "Trudy" Giddens and husband 
Doug of Livermore, California and Patricia Ann Brown and husband 
David of Omaha, Nebraska; eight grandchildren, Christy Haist and 
husband Terry, Angie O'Neill and husband Tom, Shanna Marie Myers 
and husband Jared, Megan Fegan and husband Ward, Jason Brown, Brian 
Giddens, Jessica Toman and husband Chris and Eric Giddens; eight 
great grandchildren, Tyler, Angie, Riley, Cori, Chloe, Harper, 
Kristian and Genevieve; one great great grandchild, Zoey;

Pastor Terry Mahurin officiating. Special music of "Amazing Grace"
and "It is well with My Soul" was played and sung by Deloris Bell.
Committal prayer and interment were in the Knights of Pythias 
Cemetery, Farmington, Missouri.
Casket bearers were Eric Giddens, Bryan Giddens, Terry Haist, 
Tom O'Neill, Ward Fegan and Vic Beckmann.

Linda A. Porting

Linda A. Porting (nee Grady) of Bourbon, Missouri was born on 
Saturday, December 11, 1954 in St. Louis, Missouri to Herschel J. 
and Mary Elizabeth Schlattman Grady and passed away on Monday, 
October 10, 2016 at the age of 61 years, 9 months and 29 days.
Linda married David Porting on November 25, 1986 in St. Charles, 
Missouri. 
She worked as a sales lady for Beltone for a few years and also 
had her real estate license. She was a people person and very good 
in sales. She loved cooking and was a wonderful cook. She was an 
avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinal's ball team and enjoyed playing 
bingo. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herschel and Mary Grady; 
brother, Steve (Kim) Grady; sister, Mary Welch; and father-in-law, 
Allan H. Porting.
She is survived by her husband, David Porting of Bourbon, Missouri; 
children, Jenny (Mike) Murray of Steelville, Missouri, Patric 
Poirrier and Kimmy Poirrier of Cuba, Missouri and Elizabeth 
(Felipe) Jackson of Columbia, Missouri; mother-in-law, Shirley 
Porting of Jefferson City, Missouri; brothers, Jim (Kelly) Grady

Leona "Koradine" Rhinehart

Leona "Koradine" Rhinehart of Salem, Missouri was born in Crawford 
County, Missouri on October 1, 1929 to Clarence and Gladys 
(Briggs) Roberts and passed away October 8, 2016.
Koradine attended High School in Steelville, Missouri and she 
received her teaching certificate and began her teaching career 
at a one room school house in Davisville, Missouri. She then moved 
on to the Clinton Bank School in Phelps County. 
On December 22, 1951 Koradine married Glen Edward Rhinehart and 
to this union two sons were born.
Koradine enjoyed setting out a big garden in the spring and always 
looked forward to sharing her bounty with friends and neighbors. 
What she didn't share she canned, feeding her family "fresh" from 
the garden into the long winter months. She was an exceptionally 
gifted seamstress and enjoyed making coats and clothes for her 
sons. She enjoyed attending church and loved gospel music. Her 
faith carried her through many trying times and led her to teach 
the adult class at Sunday School held at the Highland Community 
Church for many years. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Gladys 
Roberts; her  husband of 51 years, Glen Rhinehart in 2001.
She is survived by her children, Kenneth Rhinehart and wife Kris 
of Rolla, Missouri and Eldon Rhinehart and special friend Cheryl 
of Salem, Missouri; sisters, Delores Hammonds and husband Joe of 
Salem, Missouri and Helen Roberts of Salem, Missouri; relatives 
and friends. 
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 12 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. 
at the St. James Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary in St. James, 
Missouri.
Funeral services were on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 1 p.m. at 
the St. James Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary in St. James, 
Missouri with JJ Tune officiating. 
Internment was at the Asher Cemetery in Phelps County, Missouri.

Stephen Paul Richter Jr.

Stephen Paul Richter Jr. of St. James, Missouri was born on 
September 27, 1928 in Minot North Dakota to Stephen and Regina 
(Volk) Richter and passed away on October 3, 2016 at the age of 
88 years.
On May 15, 1948, he married Irene Mitschele in Minneapolis, 
Minnesota. 
Stephen joined the United States Navy when he was 17 years old 
and was a career Chef. Stephen and Irene eventually settled in 
Crocker, Missouri where they raised 12 children.
Stephen loved cooking, gardening and cutting wood in the snow. He 
was always quick to share his harvest with others and made sure 
no visitor ever left hungry or empty handed. While in the nursing 
home he was known as the candy man, supplying much of the staff 
with candy daily. It warmed his heart to share what he could with 
others.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Regina 
Richter; wife, Irene Richter; a son, Johnny Richter; son-in-law, 
Edwin Duncan; one infant grandson, Kalob Steen; one step grandson, 
Buddy Herron; and seven siblings, Frank Richter, John Richter, 
Nick Richter, Joe Richter, Eva Hubbard and Margaret Richter 
Binnick.
He is survived by five sons, Steve Richter III and wife Diane, 
Mike Richter and wife Loretta, Andy Richter and wife Debbie, 
Frank Richter and wife Gladys, Paul Richter; six daughters, 
Barbara Sanchez and husband John, Mary Duncan, Kathy Jensen and 
husband Phillip, Elise Thessen and husband Jim, Theresa Richardson, 
Evelyn (Sue) Rodden and husband Dan; 30 grandchildren; 28 great 
grandchildren and one on the way; two step grandchildren; four 
step great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. 
Memorial service was held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, 
October 5, 2016 at the Concord Christian Church in Crocker, 
Missouri. 
A graveside service will be held at a later date.

Donald D. Sohn

Donald D. Sohn of French Village, Missouri was born on 
September 13, 1933 in Washington, Missouri to Oscar and Francis 
Doyle Sohn and passed away at his home on Wednesday, 
October 5, 2016 at the age of 83 years and 22 days.
He was united in marriage to Sarah Ellen Chilton and she passed 
away on June 16, 2003.  He then married Janet Webb.
Donald worked for McDonald Douglas Aircraft in St. Louis, Missouri 
for 40 years. He started out as a sheet metal worker and retired as 
an inspector. 
Donald was active in the Army National Guard and finished his 
service as a Sergeant First Class. 
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sarah Ellen Chilton 
Sohn on June 16, 2003; parents, Oscar and Francis Doyle Sohn; two 
brothers, one infant and Ray Sohn; two sisters, Mary Lous Sohn 
and Betty Sohn; and step-son, Kenneth Johnson.
He is survived by his wife of the home, Janet Webb Sohn; two sons, 
Steven Doyle Sohn of Los Angles, California and Tom Hines and wife 
Carrie of St. Louis, Missouri; three daughters, Susan Cahill and 
husband Michael and Lisa Hines, Melissa Hines and fiancˇ Mark, all 
of St. Louis, Missouri; two brothers, Leroy Sohn and wife Glenda 
of St. Clair, Missouri and Gary Sohn of St. Clair, Missouri; 
brothers-in-law, Marvin and John Chilton of St. James, Missouri; 
grandchildren, Brittany, Lea Sohn and fiancˇ Reggie, Katelyn Nicole 
Sohn of Wood River, Illinois and Kenneth Jesse Johnson of St. Louis, 
Missouri; great grandchild, Sofie Ellen Siddell of St. Louis, 
Missouri; several nephews and nieces, including Jean Watkins and 
husband Bob of St. James, Missouri and Sharon Tennyson and husband 
Jerry of Rolla, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, October 9, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at 
the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
Funeral services were held on Monday, October 10, 2016 at 11 a.m. at 
the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri with Linda Hardwick 
officiating.  
Pallbearers were Steven Sohn, Earl Sohn, Tom Hines, Darel Provinse, 
Bob Watkins, and Mike Cahill.  
Burial was in the Adams Cemetery in St. James, Missouri.

St. James, Missouri.


Frances Louise Smith

Frances Louise Smith (nee Uhter) was born in St. Louis, Missouri 
on Thursday, June 15, 1933 to Harry Fritz and Blanche Lucy 
(Pohlman) Uhter and passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at the 
age of 83 years, 3 months and 24 days.
Frances married Bob Smith on December 3, 1955 in St. Louis, 
Missouri and to this union four children were born. 
She worked for five years as a typist and supervisor at Blue Cross, 
Blue Shield in St. Louis, Missouri. She babysat for many years in 
the Steelville, Missouri area. She was actively involved in helping 
the local Red Cross for many years. She was a founding member of 
a very special group of women called "The Golden Girls." She enjoyed 
gardening, and in particular, flowers. She loved to read, play 
cards and spend time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Blanche Uhter; 
husband, Bob Smith; sister, Betty (Francis) Ellebracht; 
brother-in-law, Norman (Pat) Smith; and son-in-law, Randy Richter.
She is survived by her children, Lisa (Dan) Kreamalmyer of 
Steelville, Missouri, Thayer (Martina) Smith of Austin, Texas, 
Stephanie (Anthony) Billingsley and Justin (Sarah) Smith, all of 
Steelville, Missouri; grandchildren, Cody (Christina) Smith, Jackie 
Trevino, Martina (Jesse) Maldonado and Dominque Trevino, all of 
Austin, Texas, Logan Billingsley, Lauren Billingsley, Shane 
(Brittney) Kreamalmyer and Matt (Jessica) Kreamalmyer, all of 
Steelville, Missouri and Lance (Danielle) Kreamalmyer of Crossett, 
Arkansas; 17 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. 
Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 
the Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri.
Funeral Mass was at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at the 
St. Michael's Catholic Church, Steelville, Missouri with Father 
Richard Boever officiating. 
Burial was at the Hibler Cemetery, Steelville, Missouri.

Chris L. White

Chris L. White of Cuba, Missouri was born December 21, 1952 at 
Cuba, Missouri to David and Violet J. (nee Chapman) Thomas and 
passed away Friday, October 7, 2016 at the age of 63 years.
Chris married Robert White on December 30, 1978 in Steelville, 
Missouri. 
Chris worked at many businesses throughout her career. She 
worked for Rudy's Package, Coverdell Glass, Sample Trucking, 
Owensville Mutual as an underwriter and from 2003 till current 
she has worked for Flying A Motorsports as the office manager. 
Chris spent many days on the river, going boating and camping. 
She played softball and bowled for years and when her children 
were young she coached their teams. 
From the age of eight Chris has watched the "Days of our Lives" 
nearly every day. She also watched the "Voice" and "NCIS". 
Every year they traveled to Sedalia for the Missouri State Fair. 
She loved to watch the shows and always tried to pick the 
winners of each class. One of her favorite past times was going 
to Iowa for steer shopping. 
She was preceded in death by her father, David Thomas; mother, 
Violet Thomas-Farris; and brothers-in-law, Luke House, Vernon 
White and Timmy White. 
She is survived by her husband of nearly 38 years, Robert White 
of the home; son, Jerrid and wife Heather Thomas of Cuba, Missouri, 
daughter, Lindsay and husband Sam Ruble of Bowling Green, Missouri; 
four grandchildren, Austin Thomas, Cason Thomas, Steele Ruble and 
Sloane Ruble; sister, Kathy House of Cuba, Missouri; brother, James 
and wife Barb Thomas of Robertsville, Missouri; half-sister, Karen 
Henry of St. Charles, Missouri; half-brothers, Jeff and wife Marie 
Thomas of Villa Ridge, Missouri, Richard Thomas of Ballwin, 
Missouri and Craig Thomas of Orlando, Florida; step mother, 
Pat Thomas of Ballwin, Missouri; brothers-in-law, Fred and wife 
Barb White of Cuba, Missouri, Paul and wife Lisa White of 
St. Louis, Missouri, Bill White of Steelville, Missouri and Jr 
and wife Josie Burris of Cherryville, Missouri; sister-in-law, 
Donna Metcalf of Steelville, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Monday, October 10, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. at the 
Mizell Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 
at the Mizell Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri with Pastor Jeff Snell 
officiating.
Interment and prayers followed at the Delhi Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.
Arrangements under the direction of the Mizell Funeral Home of 
Cuba, Missouri.
