Jennifer M. Clonts

Jennifer M. Clonts was born June 28, 1977 in Sullivan, Missouri to 
Kenneth and Debra (Frohbieter) Clonts of Cuba, Missouri and passed 
away Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at the age of 38 years.
She attended Sullivan Christian Church. Jennifer enjoyed visiting 
with her family and friends. Her smile and that unforgettable 
laugh brightened any gathering she was a part of. Her niece and 
nephews were very special to her.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Kevin Clonts.
She is survived by her parents, Kenneth and Debra Clonts; one 
brother, Tom Clonts of Sullivan, Missouri; sister-in-law, Carla 
Clonts of Cuba, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 9:30-11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 
at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri.
Funeral services was at 11 a.m.  on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 
the Eaton Funeral Home Chapel in Sullivan, Missouri with Pastor 
Grady O'Dell officiating. 
Burial followed in the Oak Hill Cemetery in rural Cuba, Missouri. 
Arrangements under the direction of the Eaton Funeral Home in 
Sullivan, Missouri.


Allan Ray Dicus

Allan Ray Dicus of Wesco, Missouri was born June 29, 1959 in 
Steelville, Missouri to Fred William and Hazel Ruth Humphrey 
Dicus and passed away Monday, August 3, 2015 at the age of 56 
years, 1 month and 4 days.  
Allan had worked many years with Chilton Construction doing 
carpentry and plumbing. 
He had attended Coffee Community Church. Allan enjoyed fishing, 
camping, playing his guitar and tinkering on lawnmowers and 
cars. He was known to be a very giving and selfless man.He was 
preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Hazel Dicus; and two 
brothers, Louis and Richard Dicus. 
He is survived by his children, Bradley Dicus and wife Ashley 
of Steelville, Missouri, Nathan Anderson of Salem, Missouri 
and Crystal Dicus and Erik Lowes of Cuba, Missouri; wife, Terri 
Chandler Dicus of Steelville, Missouri; five brothers, Kenny 
Dicus and wife Terri of Dale, Indiana, Bill Dicus and Tim Dicus 
and wife Rita, all of Cuba, Missouri, Jack Dicus and wife Debbie 
of Bourbon, Missouri and Gerald Dicus of Steelville, Missouri; 
four sisters, Judy Whittaker and husband Gene and Carol Watson, 
all of Steelville, Missouri, Linda Dicus of Cuba, Missouri and 
Peggy Gregory of St. James, Missouri; sister-in-law, Judy Dicus 
of Steelville, Missouri; special niece, Debbie Smith and husband 
Guy of Steelville, Missouri who was raised like a sister by his 
parents; three grandchildren, Braden and Gracyn Dicus and Addison 
Lowes; other relatives and friends. 
Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 
the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2015 at 
the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home with Rev. Casey Reed and Rev. 
Gene Whittaker officiating. Special music of "Go Rest High" and 
"Amazing Grace" was sung by Sherry Spitler with Kenny Cain and 
Kris Cain on guitar and mandolin. Other music of "Where the Roses 
Never Fade," "Daddy's Hands" and "Seven Spanish Angels" was also 
played. 
Committal prayer and interment were in the Steelville Cemetery. 
Casket bearers were John Watson, John Ransom, Brandon Gregory, 
Jerry Hardin, Larry Hardin Jr. and Guy Smith. 
Arrangements under the direction of the Britton-Bennett Funeral 
Home of Steelville, Missouri. 


Robert E. Douglas

Robert E Douglas of Cuba, Missouri was born March 1932 in the city 
of St. Louis, Missouri to Mary E. and David A. Douglas and passed 
away on August 3, 2015 at the age of 83 years.
He retired from Doe Run in 1994.   
He was preceded in by his parents, Mary and David Douglas; first 
wife, Marie Gladys; daughter, Laura Frances Stecher and brothers, 
William Douglas and Francis Douglas.
He is survived by his wife, Frances I. Harding; children, Sandra 
Douglas (Rocky) Hudson, Cynthia (Roger) Gray and Mark Douglas; 
stepchildren, Bonnie (Jim) Blunt, Larry (Judy) Harding, Nancy 
(Pat) Mullen and Starlite (Mark) Fooks; sister, Mary (Leo) Creamer; 
brother, Ted Douglas; sister-in-law, Ida Douglas; 15 grandchildren; 
28 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were August 7, 2015 at Lord Funeral Home in 
St. Louis County, followed by burial at Jefferson Barracks National 
Cemetery. 


Elaine Edwards

Elaine Edwards (nee Cook) of Steelville, Missouri and formerly of 
St. Ann, Missouri, was born August 27, 1929 in Elvins, Missouri to 
Elmer and Grace Politte Cook and passed away Friday, August 7, 2015
at the age of 85 years.
On November 6, 1946 in Farmington, Missouri she married Alvin "Al" 
Edwards and to this union seven children were born. 
 Elaine was a member of the St. Michael's Catholic Church for many 
years and served on the St. Michael's Parish Council.  
For over 25 years she visited homes of the homebound members and 
helped give communion. She was also a member of the FEMA Board, 
Happy Homemakers Club, Meramec Garden Club and was bookkeeper and 
treasurer of Golden Echoes. 
In 2009, Elaine was the recipient of the Citizen of the Year award 
by the Steelville Chamber of Commerce. She will always be 
remembered as helping and giving to others. Elaine always loved 
being "Nanny" to her many grandchildren. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Grace Cook; 
her husband, Al; one son, John Edwards; one daughter, Jane Lewis; 
one great grandson, Max Winfield; and brother, Joey Cook. 
She is survived by her two sons, Tony Edwards and wife Peggy of 
Elizabethtown, Kentucky and Michael Edwards and wife Kelley of 
St. Peters, Missouri; three daughters, Connie Porter and husband 
Marty of Grand Prairie, Texas, Becky Cafazza and husband Tony of 
St. Ann, Missouri and Kathy Dunlap and husband Rob of San Diego, 
California; 21 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; two great 
great grandchildren; one sister, Charmaine McFarland and husband 
Floyd of Farmington, Missouri;  other relatives and friends. 
A Memorial Mass was held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 10, 2015 
at the All Saints Parish in St. Peters, Missouri. 
Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, August 10, 2015 at 
the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri. 
A Celebration of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, 
August 11, 2015 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Steelville, 
Missouri with Father James Finder as Celebrant. Organ music was 
played by Karin West. 
Committal prayer and interment were in the Steelville Cemetery 
at Steelville, Missouri. 
Casket bearers were Tom Lezear, Tony Hilton, John Edwards, Pat 
McFarland, John McFarland and Tom Maurer.
Arrangements under the direction of the Britton-Bennett Funeral 
Home in Steelville, Missouri. 


Shirley S. McEwen

Shirley S. McEwen was born February 19, 1948 in Washington, 
Missouri to Raymond T. and Marie Roark Koch and passed away 
Monday, August 3, 2015 in Washington at the age of 67 years.
Shirley received her education in Washington. 
On December 15, 1981, Shirley was united in marriage to Larry 
McEwen and they made their home in Union, Missouri. 
Shirley worked at Hazel Vinyl Products in Washington for 25+ 
years and at Missouri Meerschaum for 10 years. 
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Elmer Sperry and 
Larry McEwen; son, Poncho Sperry, two grandsons, Darryl Shoults 
and Lance Shoults; great grandson, Derek Lehr; and brother, 
Arman "Bud" Koch. 
She is survived by three sons, Darryl Sperry and wife Judy of 
Washington, Missouri, Kevin McEwen and wife Cindy of Ozark, 
Missouri and Jim McEwen and wife Kelly of Beaufort, Missouri; 
four daughters, Ardell Brown and husband Richard of Washington, 
Missouri, Kathryn Craig and husband Gary of Owensville, Missouri, 
Charla Carey of Washington, Missouri, Natalie Grover and husband 
Randy of Mountain View, Missouri; several grandchildren; two 
sisters, Geraldine "Gerry" Peirick and husband Frank of Union, 
Missouri and Elsie Koch of St James, Missouri; three brothers, 
Arnold " Pete" Koch and Kathy of Washington, Missouri, Charles 
Koch and wife Joanne of Union, Missouri and Randy Koch and wife 
Juanita of Leslie, Missouri; other relatives and friends. 
Funeral service was held Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 1 p.m. at 
the Oltmann Funeral Home in Union, Missouri. 
Burial was in the Bethel Cemetery in Labadie, Missouri. 
Arrangements under the direction of the Oltmann Funeral Home in 
Union, Missouri. 


Jackie J. Murphy

Jackie J. Murphy of Bourbon, Missouri was born January 15, 1940 to 
Willis and Clara (Dilks) Marshall in Bourbon, Missouri and passed 
away Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at the age of 75 years.
On July 3, 1965, she married James D. "JD" Murphy in Bourbon, 
Missouri. The couple just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church of Bourbon, 
Missouri. Jackie enjoyed antiquing, fishing and gardening.  
Her pride and joy was her yard. It was immaculate. 
She is survived by her husband "JD"; one son, Greg Murphy of 
Bourbon, Missouri and one grandson, Tyler Murphy of St. James, 
Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 9-11 a.m. on Monday, August 10, 2015 at 
the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri. 
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 10, 2015 
at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri with Father 
Richard Boever officiating. 
Burial followed in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Bourbon, Missouri.
Arrangements under the direction of the Eaton Funeral Home in 
Sullivan, Missouri.  


Donald Eugene Simms

Donald Eugene Simms of Cherryville, Missouri was born 
February 11, 1941 in Como, Missouri to William and Pearl Simms 
and passed away Friday, August 7, 2015 at the age of 75 years.
On September 30, 1975 in St. Louis, he was united in marriage to 
Roberta "Bobbie" Farnham.
Donald was a stationary engineer in a hospital power plant for 
several years and retired in 2000. 
He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Simms of Cherryville, Missouri; 
one granddaughter, Amber Heeley of North Carolina; five great 
grandchildren, Samantha, Aleksa, Isabel, Isaac and Caleb; other 
relatives and friends. 
The family chose cremation as the final disposition. 
There will be a memorial service at a later date. 
Arrangements under the direction of the Britton-Bennett Funeral 
Home of Steelville, Missouri. 


Pansy Delight Young

Pansy Delight Young (nee Dicus) was born on Sunday, August 27, 1916 
in Keysville, Missouri to Calvin Elic and Etta Cassidy Dicus and 
passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2015 at the age of 98 years,
11 months and 6 days.
Pansy married Conn Holmes Young on June 17, 1940 in Keysville, 
Missouri and to this union six children were born. 
Pansy enjoyed cooking, gardening and canning. She brought the family 
together for dinner at her home every Sunday as she prepared it on 
her own until a few years ago when others helped her. She also, 
liked to go shopping.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Etta Dicus; 
husband, Conn; son, Robert R. Young; grandsons, Paul Matthew Young 
and Jacob Scot Ware; brothers, Thomas Dicus, Waymond Dicus, Fred 
Dicus and Sam Dicus; sisters, Mildred Ransom, Edith Hardin Dunn, 
Erma Dicus and Ruth Harmon.
She is survived by her children, James (Geneva) C. Young, Lee (Eula) 
Young, Grace (Curt) Ware, Dale (Dottie Cox) Young, all of 
Steelville, Missouri and Glenn (Barb) Young of Cuba, Missouri;
 brother-in-law, Roy Harmon of Steelville, Missouri; close family 
friends, David Hall and Jim Jones of Steelville, Missouri; 22 grand-
children; 31 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Tuesday, August 4, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. and funeral 
service was Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Hutson 
Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Spencer Hutson 
officiating. 
Burial was at the Keysville Cemetery, Keysville, Missouri. 
Arrangements under the direction of the Hutson Funeral Home, 
Steelville, Missouri.
