May 21, 2013 Donna R. Roberts, 79, of Orleans passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. She was born June 10, 1933, in Sheridan, the daughter of Earl and Marguerite (Maus) O’Berry. On Sept. 18, 1953, Donna was married to Floyd “Nort” Roberts in Sheridan, and he preceded her in death on April 24, 1993. Also preceding her were her parents; two daughters, Pam Hansen Simon and Jane Spear; a sister, Lois Jean Young; and a brother-in-law, Wayne Lane. Surviving are her children, Jackie and Don Hagen of Fenwick, Nancy McClintock and Patrick Marlette of Greenville, Julie and Brian Baragrey of Belding, Jerry Roberts and Jim Roberts, both of Orleans; a son-in-law, Randy Spear of Fenwick; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one sister, Eleanor Lane; one brother, Merlin and Janice O’Berry of Fenwick; one brother-in-law, Wayne Young of Dansville, Mich.; and her caregiver, Gentry Maatman. Donna has been a longtime resident of the Orleans area. She retired as a seamstress from the Chrysler Trim Plant in Lyons and served as president of the retirees Local 1424 for many years. In addition, she is a member of the Evergreen Free Methodist Church in Sheridan, where she has been the song leader for many years. Funeral services for Donna will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2013, at the Evergreen Free Methodist Church in Sheridan, with Pastor Rich Fulkerson and Pastor Jim Vadewarker officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Sheridan. Visitation with the family will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22 at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan.
