The Herald, Piedmont, West Virginia, Fri 7 July 1922: 
"Patrick F. White Expired Sunday-Owner of White's Foundry Succumbs 
After Long Illness-The funeral of Mr. Patrick F. White took place 
at St. Peter's Catholic Church at 9:30 o'clock Thursday morning 
with Solemn Requiem High Mass. Rev. Father McAdams was celebrant, 
assisted by Father Donahue and Father Leary. Fathers Quinn, 
McVeigh and Scarpatti were also in the sanctuary. Mr. White, who 
was one of the oldest, most prominent and highly respected 
residents of Westernport, died at his home at 7:30 o'clock Sunday 
evening, after a protracted illness, having been confined to his 
home for many months past.  He was in his seventy-ninth year and 
was well and favorably known all through this section of the 
country. He was born in Ireland and came to this country with his 
parents when but a child, spending his entire life in Allegany 
county. Mr. White was a veteran of the Civil War, having served 
as a member of Company D, 2nd Regiment, Potomac Home Brigade, 
Maryland Infantry. Mr. White was united in marriage with Miss 
Margaret Kirkwood, of Lonaconing, in 1865, Mrs. White having died 
in 1903. Their union was blessed with thirteen children, six of 
which survive as follows: John P., of Washington, D. C.; Sister 
Marie Joseph, of South Bethlehem, Pa.; Sister Maria Auxilla, of 
Philadelphia, Pa.; Michael J., Thomas L., and Charles A., of 
Westernport. Mr. White owned and managed the Westernport Foundry 
and Machine Shop for nearly fifty years. Father McAdams delivered 
a eloquent eulogy on the life and character of Mr. White. The 
floral designs were numerous and beautiful. The active pallbearers 
were: Thomas F. Kenny, M. P. Cosgrove, Leo Connell, Martin McGuire, 
Thomas Beal, Frank Kelly, Michael O'Laughlin, Harry Peters. The 
honorary pallbearers: Dr. T. L. Wilson, O. Tibbetts, William 
Rosenbloom, John Griffin, James Kelly and R. H. Drane."
