94 Year Old Winn Resident Is Buried At Welcome Home

Thomas Jesse Roberts, 94 years, five months, and seven days of age, died
January 10 at Winnsboro, La., and was buried Sunday at Welcome Home Cemetery,
Hudson, with the Rev. A. E. Buchan and the Rev. J. L. Busby conducting the
services.  A large circle of friends attended the last rites attesting to the
high esteem in which the elderly man was held in the community where he
spent most of his life.

Mr. Roberts was born August 3, 1848 in Winn Parish and was reared and educated
in this parish.  He was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church.  His wife
preceded him in death by 46 years.

Surviving are two sons and one daughter, D. H. Roberts of Winnfield and J. R.
Roberts of Tullos, and Mrs. Belle Laborde, Winnsboro, La.  He also leaves 24
grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
