Fay Gilstrap Ratcliff Dies November 26

Mrs. Fay Gilstrap Ratcliff, former Winnfield resident, died at age 85 on
Tuesday, November 26, 1991, in a Baton Rouge hospital. She has recently been
an enthusiastic and prolific contributor with her "Home" stories in Winn
Parish Past Tense, the Enterprise's historical column.

As a former Baton Rouge resident, Mrs. Ratcliff had resided at the Golden Age
Nursing Home in Denham Springs following a severely disabling stroke. Prior
to moving to Baton Rouge to be near their children, Mrs. Ratcliff and her late
husband, A. V. "Stone" Ratcliff, a well known Coca Cola employee, had lived
in Minden, La., occupying the same residence for forty years.

Before her marriage to Walter Breithaupt in Minden, the Arkansas born Mrs.
Ratcliff had moved at age fifteen to Winnfield with her family. She is
remembered as a sales clerk in various local business establishments,
particularly Milam's Style Shop on Main Street.

Mrs. Ratcliff was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Clara McGilliland
Gilstrap, a sister, Mrs. O. O. (May) Nash, and three brothers, Jack, Carl, and
Bill Gilstrap.

She was a member of University Baptist Church in Baton Rouge.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Robert R. (Mary Ann) Williams of Baton
Rouge; one sister, Frances Gilstrap Smith of Winnfield; one brother, Jesse
Gilstrap of Monroe; two granddaughters and one great grandson and several
nieces and nephews.
