residence. He was a native of Albany, and a construction worker. Survivors 
include by his wife, Margaret Sanders Stewart of Holden; two daughters, 
Diane Stewart Byars of Houston, and Olivia Stewart Tabor of Gulf Shores, 
Ala.; his mother, Mary Hano Stewart of Holden; twin sisters, Nellie Stewart 
Bankston and Nelcie Stewart Westbury, both of Watson; five brothers, Edwin 
Stewart and Brady Stewart Sr., both of Holden, Cecil Stewart of Albany, 
Abbott Stewart of Mississippi, and Christopher Stewart of Satsuma; and a 
granddaughter. His father, Abbott Stewart, and a son, Kevin Louis Stewart, 
preceded him in death as did a granddaughter. Visitation will be at Harry 
McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, tonight from 6 to 10 and Thursday 
after 8 a.m. until the funeral at 10 conducted by the Rev. Carlin Sanders 
and the Rev. Noah Hano. Burial will be James Chapel Cemetery, Holden.

grandchildren, David Ferachi and wife Melissa, Larry Ferachi Jr., Laura
Stewart Horton and husband Chris, Alex Nicholls and Kelsey Nicholls; and a
great-grandchild, Jackson Ferachi. Preceded in death by her parents, Robert

ALBANY - Delford Lee Stewart, 71, died Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at his 
home. He was a native of Albany. He is survived by his wife, Edna King 
Stewart; seven daughters, Brenda Stewart, Anita Berne, Glenda Durbin, 
Kimberly Kling, Jo'Hannah Erwin, Michelle Pace and Delissa Stewart; one 
son, Edwin Pace; and 14 grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his 
parents, Samuel and Bessie Daniels Stewart; two brothers, Carter and 
Preston Stewart; and one son, Jerry Wayne Stewart. A graveside service 
will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made

Stewart and wife Cathy; two sisters, Elmse Stewart Kimble and husband Loyd
and Frances Stewart Cortez and husband Gerald; two brothers, Levi Stewart
and wife Shirley and Hulon Stewart and wife Bethany "Cookie"; two stepsons,
Darrell "Bimbo" Parent and wife Staceˇ and Rodney "Goo" Fontenot and wife
Bobbie; two grandchildren, six stepgrandchildren, a great-grandson, 15
nieces and nephews, 14 great-nieces and great-nephews and numerous other
family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ambrose
Stewart Sr. and Zilda Clayton Stewart; two brothers, Ambrose Jr. and George
Stewart; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Paul Fontenot and Margret Picou
Fontenot; three brothers-in-law, Ervin, Wilbert and Clavine Fontenot; and
two sisters-in-law, Edris and Mable Fontenot. Family and friends are

A deputy for the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office since 1980 and a 
former marshal for the village of Tangipahoa, where he owned and operated 
Stewart's Grocery, he died on Sunday, March 24, 2002, at Kenner Regional 
Medical Center in Kenner. He was 81, a native of Poplarville, Miss., and 
a resident of Tangipahoa. He maintained membership with Millwright Local 
720 in Baton Rouge. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Coast 
Guard in the Philippines. Visiting at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, 
from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 a.m. until religious services at 
10 a.m. Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. Sam Leto and the Rev. Eddie 
Morgan. Interment in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Poplarville. Survived by a 
daughter and son-in-law, Linda Stewart and Jim LeBlanc, Tangipahoa; and 
a grandson, Stewart LeBlanc, Tangipahoa. Preceded in death by his parents, 
Ed and Lucy Stewart; wife, Adelene Williams Stewart; a daughter, Glenda

Edward Stewart; mother, Sarah Hutchinson Stewart Wagner; stepfather, 
Rolly Wagner; a brother, C.E. Wagner; and an infant sister. He was a 
member of the Farm Bureau and Bethlehem Baptist Church and a former 
member and deacon emeritus of Natalbany Baptist Church. He retired as a 
school bus driver with Tangipahoa Parish School Board. He was a cattle 
rancher, former Louisiana state produce inspector, owner and operator of 
the former Eddie's Grocery in Natalbany and a member of Livingston 
Masonic Lodge 124, F&AM. Pallbearers will be Eldridge Durbin, Duane 
Every, Eddie Ray Stewart, Arthur Stewart, Trent Edward Stewart and 
Michael Sevils. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Senior Male 
Adult Sunday School class of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Colyell; three brothers, Eugene and Kenneth Ritchie, both of Slidell, and 
William Ritchie of Florida; and 11 grandchildren. She was preceded in 
death by her parents, Daniel Theodore and Lilly Mae Bateman Ritchie; and 
two sisters, Ruth Pauline McClain and Dorothy Ritchie. Visitation will be 
today at Midway Baptist Church in Satsuma after 6 p.m. The Rev. Wayne 
Talley will conduct the funeral Tuesday at 2:30 p.m., and burial will be
