Obituary published in The Advocate (Baton Rouge) on: 6/5/2011

ROEDTS, ROBERT R., JR.
Robert "Bob" Roedts, age 79, of Holden, a retired missionary and
independent farmer for Sanderson Farms, went to be with Jesus on Thursday,
June 2, 2011, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. We rejoice
in the gift of his life and love for his family: Shirley, his wife of
nearly 56 years; his daughters and sons-in-law, Lynda and Jonathan Warner,
Brenda and Charles "Andy" Andress; and his son, Rob Roedts. He is also
survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Rose and Keith Lott; a niece
and nephew, Vicki and Duane Lott; three grandchildren, Daniel Roedts, Lisa
Morrison and Leslie Gregory; and three great-grandchildren. He was
predeceased by a nephew, Duncan Lott. A native of Newark, N.Y., he was a
graduate of the State University of New York at Alfred and an ordained
pastor for the Assemblies of God Church in Louisiana. Bob served with his
wife, Shirley, as evangelist missionaries in Honduras for 6 years after
building and operating mission farms to finance their missionary work.
Visiting hours will be held at Calvary Christian Center, 118 Richardson
St., Hammond, on Monday, June 6, from 9:30 a.m. with the funeral to follow
at 11:30 a.m. A graveside service will be conducted at the church followed
by a private burial. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the
Calvary Christian Center building fund or the American Cancer Society.
