LOVETT, LOIS BERNE
A resident of Walker, she died Wednesday, May 26, 1999, at Summit Hospital,
Baton Rouge. She was 80 and a native of Hammond. Visiting at Harry McKneely
& Son Funeral Home, Hammond, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and after 8 a.m.
Friday. Religious services at the funeral home chapel at 10 a.m. Friday,
conducted by the Rev. Tom Dolph. Interment in Narretto Cemetery, Loranger. 
Survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Carol Jay McLin Robertson and Wayne
C. Robertson, Lafayette; a granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Paige LeBleu
and Mike Wright, Hammond; a grandson, Jay Wayne Robertson, Lake Charles;
two great-grandchildren, Cameron Wayne LeBleu and Abby Lynnae Wright, both
of Hammond; and two sisters, Edna Bercegay, Folsom, and Gertrude Devall,
Loranger. Preceded in death by parents, George and Florence Oliphant Berne; 
first husband, Jay James McLin; second husband, Leon Lovett; five brothers,
Alvis, Mervin, Phil, Fred and George Berne; two sisters, Beatrice Woodside
and Ione Bradley; and a grandson, Conway C. LeBleu.

LOVETT, VIOLA C.
A resident of Walker, she died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999, at Our Lady of the
Lake Medical Center, Baton Rouge. She was 87 and a native of Tangipahoa
Parish. Visiting at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Wednesday and after 8 a.m. Thursday. Religious services at the funeral home
chapel at 10 a.m. Thursday, conducted by the Rev. Merelin McCon and the
Rev. Wes Courtney. Interment in Palmetto Cemetery, Walker. Survived by sons
and daughters-in-law, James Monroe and Ethel Lovett, Jerry and Beverly
Lovett, Elmo Jr. and Cassie Lovett and Jimmy and Ervine Lovett; daughters
and sons-in-law, Ollie I. Lovett, Marie and R.L. Luther, Merrell and Terry
Long and Kathleen and Melvin Bourque; sisters, Gertrude Fore and Hazel
Gilmore; brothers, Joseph E. Chavers, Joseph B. Chavers and Ellis Chavers;
14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grand-
children; and caregiver and friend, Hazel Avara. Preceded in death by her
husband, Elmo Lovett Sr.; parents, Joseph B. Sr. and Floy Zachary Chavers;
and a brother, John B. Chavers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests
donations be made to Rancho Orphanage.
