James Lamar Edwards, 53 years old of Hammond, a native of Laurel, 
Mississippi, passed away Monday, January 28, 2013, at Richard Murphy 
Hospice House.  He was born on Friday, April 24, 1959, in Laurel.  Mr. 
Edwards was employed for 25 years with Bill Hood Auto Group of Hammond.
Surviving are his wife, Tuesday "Tudy" Sullivan Edwards; 3 children, Sandra 
Holifield, Chad Edwards, and Hailie Edwards; 2 step-daughters, Ashley 
Pinion and Bailie Pinion; 7 grandchildren; father, Ralph Edwards; mother, 
Linda Woods Pagano; 4 sisters, Brenda Rowell, Bobbi Jean Gillentine, Etha 
Thompson, and Lisa Hott; and 4 brothers, Jerry Edwards, Howard Edwards, 
Willie Yawn, and Joseph Yawn.  Friends will be received at Harry McKneely & 
Son Funeral Home in Hammond, Wednesday, January 30, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. 
until the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.  
Interment will follow in the Rose Memorial Park Cemetery in Hammond.  In

He was a longtime theater owner and operator in Hammond, having owned and 
operated the Ritz Theater, and operated the Columbia Theater and the Joy 
Drive-In. He died Monday, May 26, 2003, at his residence in Hammond. He was 
74 and a native of Newport, Miss. Visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral 
Home, Hammond, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday, with a Masonic service at 7 
p.m. conducted by Livingston Lodge 160. Survived by his wife, Madee Sibley 
Edwards, Hammond; two sons, Jesse T. Edwards Jr. and John E. Edwards, both

Kanter, Tickfaw, Terri Edwards Covington, Walker, and Judy Edwards, Hammond;

Vigneron, Byard Edwards Jr., Beryl E. Robertson and Andrew M. Edwards II; and is 
also survived by nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Age 90, a 
native of Amite and resident of Ponchatoula, Mrs. Edwards was a longtime member 
of the Methodist Women's Society and served for many years as the church 
librarian. Family and friends are invited to the religious services at the 
family home at 301 S. Fourth St., Ponchatoula, on Sunday, May 4, 2003, at 3 p.m. 
Visitation will be at the family home on Saturday, May 3, 2003, from 5 p.m.

Pacific, and was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Survived by two

Breed Edwards. Preceded in death by his wife and two sons. He was a graduate of 
LSU, a 1965 recipient of the Charles Dunbar Award and enjoyed gardening.

uncle. Sam was born on Sunday, March 7, 1937, in Bude, Miss., son of Sam
and Louise Hoover Edwards, who preceded him in death. He was a retired
employee of Shell Chemical and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a very
generous and clever man who loved running his backhoe and telling jokes.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Wilta Dupuy Edwards; sister and
brother-in-law, Glenda "June" Edwards Becnel and Lou Becnel; brother and
sister-in-law, Glenn and Margie Edwards; sister-in-law, Cindy McKinney
Edwards; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Collins and Betty Dupuy, Kerma
and Ronald Guedry, Melba and Andrew Brenn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his brother, Harold Edwards; sisters, Catherine
Edwards Davis and Sally Edwards Hill; father-in-law and mother-in-law,
Jessie and Lena Loupe Dupuy. Friends will be received at Harry McKneely &
Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula on Sunday, July 26, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Visiting at St Stephens Catholic Church in Whitehall on Monday, July 27,
from 9 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Whitehall
Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Leonard Coats Jr., Keith Davis, Jacob
Edwards, Joseph "Bozo" Dupuy, Alton "Bubba" LeBourgeois and Blake Johnston.
Sam was loved by many and his sense of humor will be greatly missed. The
family wishes to extend their thanks to Dr. Walker and the staff at North
Oaks Medical Center for taking such great care of our beloved uncle Bo.

EDWARDS, JUDGE WALLACE ANDREW (RET.) 
A retired judge with the 1st Circuit Court of Appeal, he died Saturday,
Feb. 19, 2005, at his home in Baton Rouge. He was 67 and a native of
Ponchatoula. He is survived by his wife, Diane Edwards; daughter, Summer
Edwards, Houston; stepdaughter, Kimberly Anne Bowman, Baton Rouge; son,
Stuart Edwards, Austin, Texas; stepson, Christopher Bevolo, Baton Rouge;
sister, Ann Edwards Lee, Houston; granddaughter, Taylor Edwards, Houston;
and grandson, Scott Edwards, Houston. He was preceded in death by a son,
John Wallace Edwards; a brother, Andrew M. Edwards III; and parents, Andrew
and Helen Seib Edwards. Visiting was at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825
Government St., from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 21. Visiting at the
funeral home from 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22, until memorial service at noon.
There will be a private interment in Wetmore Cemetery in Ponchatoula. He
graduated from Ponchatoula High School in 1955. He held an undergraduate
degree from Tulane University and graduated from Tulane Law School in 1961.
At the age of 28, he was elected as district judge of the 22nd Judicial
District Court, which includes St. Tammany and Washington parishes. He was
the youngest judge ever elected to a Louisiana state court. In 1994, he
retired from the Court of Appeal. In lieu of flowers, the judge would
appreciate a memorial donation in memory of his son John to Juvenile
Diabetes Research Foundation, 2325 Weymouth Drive, Suite N., Baton Rouge,
LA 70809.
