HOLDEN - Marie Teresa Bennett, 62, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2002 at North 
Oaks Medical Center. She was a native of Holden. Survivors include her 
husband, George Bennett, Holden; one son, Douglas Bennett, Holden; one 
daughter, Judy Faye Rayborn, Albany; four brothers, Danny Hoyt, 
Montpelier, and W.C. "Bunk" Hoyt, Randy Hoyt and William "Bootsy" Hoyt, 
all of Springfield; three sisters, Doris Wilkinson, Holden, Carol Traylor 
and Eva Johnson, both of Springfield; six grandchildren and two great-
grandchildren. Her parents, Daniel and Emma Hoyt, and siblings Jeri 
Revere and Huey and Penny Hoyt, preceded her in death. Visitation is 
today at Geisler Funeral Home, Albany, from 9 a.m. until the funeral 
service at 11:30. Mike Polk will conduct the service. Burial will be in 
James Chapel Cemetery in Holden.

3:30 to 7:30 p.m. at McKneely Funeral Home in Amite and Monday from 8

was preceded in death by his parents, Tyrell E. and Eula Mae Rushing

Prieskop. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and was retired from DEMCO with
32 years of service. He was a member of Greenwell Springs Baptist Church
and an avid LSU Tigers football fan. Visitation at Greenwell Springs
Baptist Church, 19421 Greenwell Springs Road, Greenwell Springs, on
Wednesday, Dec. 12, was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation resumes Thursday
at the church from 9 a.m. until service at 10 a.m., conducted by Dr. Dennis
Terry. Burial in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker. Pallbearers will be

Vera K. Bennett, 86, of Tickfaw, a loving wife and mother, passed away 
Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, at Specialty Long Term Care Hospital of Hammond. 
Born July 10, 1924, in Mobile, Ala., she was the daughter of the late 
Henry Vernon Kinchen and the late Cora Davis Kinchen. Surviving are her 
two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia B. and Leo Westmoreland, and Grace 
B. and Bret Gasaway; son and daughter-in-law, Henry Farley and Marie 
Bennett; four grandchildren, Robby Caston, Jessica Bennett, Fara-ley 
Bennett and Brooke Gasaway; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Louise 
O'Sullivan; and brothers, Vernon Kinchen Jr., Lloyd Kinchen, Marvin Earl 
Kinchen, Carter Kinchen, Jerry Kinchen and Frankie Lee Kinchen. She was 
preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Wade Bennett Sr.; son, Stanley 
Wade Bennett Jr.; granddaughter, Jennifer Bennett; parents, Mr. and Mrs. 
Kinchen; brother, Robert Kinchen; and mother-in-law, Cora Lou Harper 
Bennett.  Friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in

BENNETT, WALLACE LEVI
Wallace Levi Bennett, 88, passed away peacefully Monday, Oct. 18, 2010. 
Levi was born April 27, 1922, to James Robert Bennett and Margaret Etta 
Browning Bennett. He was a lifelong resident of Central. Levi was a retired 
electrical first line supervisor from ExxonMobil, having worked there for 
33 years. He served in the Coast Guard during World War II, was a 50-year 
member of Central Masonic Lodge 442 and a member of Zoar Baptist Church. 
Levi is survived by Elaine Hudson Bennett, his wife of 60 years. He is also 
survived by two daughters, Terry L. Bennett, and Kathy B. Shockley and 
husband Bruce; and two beloved granddaughters, Carole Lynn Shockley and 
Rachael Elaine Shockley. He is also survived by his sisters, Laura Lea 
Waters and husband Wilbur, Bobbie Joyce Neyland and husband Pete, all of 
Central, Louise Fletcher and husband Barzie, of San Angelo, Texas, and 
Marguerite Baudin, of Kentwood; brother-in-law, M.C. Martin, of Central; 
and sister-in-law, Mildred Bennett, of Central. He was preceded in death by 
his parents, James Robert and Margaret Bennett; his brother, Boyd Bennett; 
three sisters, Anne Etta Martin, who was of Central, Inez Ward, who was of 
Marrero, and Flarrie Baudin, who was of Central; and brothers-in-law Ted 
Ward, who was of Marrero, and Jake Baudin, who was of Kentwood. Visitation 
will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Wednesday 
evening, was from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home on 
Thursday, Oct. 21, from 10:30 a.m. until funeral service at 1 p.m., 
conducted by the Rev. Kevin Hand. Burial to follow in Zoar Baptist Church 
Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Zoar
