BASNEY, ROBERT R. "BOB CAT" 
A brick mason and resident of Hammond, he died Wednesday, May 7, 2003, at
North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond. He was 58 and a native of Mount
Clements, Mich. Visiting at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Ponchatoula,
from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday. Religious service at funeral home chapel at
8 p.m. Friday. Survived by his wife, Joan Little Basney, Hammond; a son,
Robert Smith, Hawaii; six daughters, Teresa Kropog, Albany, Tamera Gruber,
Virginia, Monica Reese, Hammond, Laura Lemoine, Lafayette, June Murphy,
Ponchatoula, and Lynne Smith, Hammond; 11 grandchildren; and two sisters,
Joan Warren, North Carolina, and Julie Dennison, Michigan. Preceded in
death by his father, Raymond S. Basney; mother, Giselda Russell; grand-
mother, Johanna Miller; a brother, Roger Basney; and two sisters, Rita
Basney and Linda Brown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the
American Lung Association.
