Benjamin Charles Greene, 23, of Covington died Thursday in a farm accident.

He is survived by parents, Gary M. and Kimberly P. Greene, brother Matthew C. 
Greene, grandparents Charles K. and Rita L. Petter, and his beloved soulmate M. 
Marie Snyder. 

Predeceased by paternal grandparents Buck and Nell R. Greene.

He graduated from Covington High School in 2005 and earned his Bachelor of 
Science degree in Animal Science from Louisiana State University in 2009. He was 
a second year student at the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine. His lifelong 
love of agriculture began at an early age and is what motivated him to excel in 
school and extra-curricular activities. He was active in 4-H and FFA with sheep 
and beef cattle show projects and earned the Governor's Award for Excellence and 
the Louisiana Beef Premier Exhibitor Award in 2005. He was a member of the 
Louisiana and National Angus Associations, the Louisiana Cattleman's 
Association, the Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association, 
American Association of Equine Practitioners, American Association of Bovine 
Practitioners and Small Animal Medicine Club. Ben was also serving as the Class 
of 2013 Representative. 

He was a member of St. Timothy United on the Northshore Methodist Church in 
Mandeville.

All proceedings will be held at St. Timothy on the Northshore United Methodist 
Church, 335 Asbury Drive, Mandeville, LA, with visitation from 2 to 4 pm on 
Sunday, August 15. The Celebration of Ben's life will begin at 4 pm followed by 
fellowship in the Family Life Center.

Account at Hancock Bank, 1300 N. Hwy 190, Covington, LA 70433 or any Hancock 
Bank location.
