Emmette (Emmett) Edward Rushing - Madison Parish, Louisiana

The Funeral of Emmette (Emmett) Edward Rushing, 51, of Morgan City LA, was held Sunday at 
the chapel of Crothers Funeral Home with Rev. Crawford Williams officiating. Burial was in 
Memorial Park Cemetery.
Emmette was born to Lee Roy and Vivian Eugenia Farmer Rushing on January 5, 1927 and passed 
from this life on July 27, 1978.
He drowned Thursday in Leeville, after accidentally falling from a boat. He was a chef for 
an offshore drilling company and a veteran of World War II where he served in the Navy in 
the Pacific theater.
Survivors include his parents Roy Lee and Vivian Farmer Rushing of Tallulah; five brothers 
and sisters-in-law; Ronald and Eva Jean Rushing of Ferriday, La, Thomas and Enriqueta 
(Henrietta) Rushing of Grand Forks, ND, Houston and Shirley Rushing of Great Falls, MT, Roy 
Lee (R.L.) and Danielle Rushing of Bossier City, LA and Kenneth Ray and Leona Rushing of Many,
three sisters; Joy Marie Smith of Monroe, LA. Zelpha (Zoody) Mae and husband Billy Ray Smith 
of Monroe, LA and Evelyn Irene Machen of Shreveport LA.
