Terry Lynn Anderson

Funeral services for Terry Lynn Anderson, 52, of Pineville were held June 30, 2007, 
at Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Alexandria with Father Dan O'Conner officiating. 
Burial followed in Greenwood Memorial Park in Pineville. Services were under the direction 
of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria.

Mr. Anderson died Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria.

He was of the Catholic faith. Mr. Anderson was a longtime delivery driver for Domino's Pizza 
in Alexandria and Pineville; and was also an electrician.

Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his mother, Jimmie Anderson; brothers, James Alexander Wolf, 
Michael Wayne Wolf; and paternal grandmother Myrtle Anderson.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Lynn Anderson, Pineville; father, Lee Anderson and step-mother 
Carolyn Anderson of Patterson; son, Phillip Alexander Anderson, Baton Rouge; two stepbrothers, 
Brent Michael Guillory, Houma; Robert D. Guillory, Lafayette; stepsister, Mary Jeanine Guillory, 
Houma; four grandchildren; and a host of other relatives.

Pallbearers were Steven Couture, Nick Sanders, James A. Wolf, Keith Sanders, Ricky Wolf 
and Ronnie Morrow.

Estelle Baskin

Services for Estelle Baskin, 95, Wisner, were held Friday, July 6, 2007 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral 
Home in West Monroe, with Rev. Walter Allen officiating. Interment followed at Hasley Cemetery in West 
Monroe.

Mrs. Baskin passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2007, at Plantation Oaks Nursing Home. She loved life, church 
quilting, and the senior center. She was preceded in death by husbands, Marion Dent, J.K. Kennedy, and 
C.T. Baskin.

She is survived by daughters, Virginia Lee Price; Bobbie June Black; eight grandchildren, 10 great 
grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; brother, Herbert Herrington; and sister, Oden Myers.

Memorials may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or to the Louisiana Baptist 
Children's Home.

Funeral services for Max Boutwell, 69, of Winnsboro will be held at Community Memorial Funeral Home on 
Thursday, July 26, 2007 at 2 p.m. with Bro. Wayne Smith officiating.

Private graveside service will follow at Baskin Cemetery under the direction of Young's Community Memorial 
Funeral Home in Winnsboro.

Mr. Boutwell was born April 22, 1938 in Winnsboro, and passed away Sunday, July 22, 2007 at Charlyn Nursing 
Home in Winnsboro. He was a resident of Winnsboro and a construction worker. He was preceded in death by 
his parents Ida and William Lee Boutwell; and one brother John Boutwell.

Survivors include a daughters, Tina Collinson, Mangham; Robin Tyler, Baskin; Paula Boudreaux, Winnsboro; 
Nicky Barlow, Gilbert; sons, Harlan Boutwell, Gilbert; and Toby Boutwell, Monroe; brother, William 
Lee Boutwell Jr., Paris, Texas; sisters, Gladys Hawkins, Nashville, Tenn.; Juanita Barrett, Vicksburg, Miss.; 
24 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Community Memorial Funeral Home from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, 
July 26, 2007.

Funeral services for Marjorie C. Brewer, 80, of Harrisonburg, were held at First Baptist Church of

Mrs. Brewer was born Feb. 24, 1927 in Minden, La., and passed away Monday, July 16, 2007 at Hospice of 
West Alabama, Tuscaloosa, Ala. She was a resident of Harrisonburg, a homemaker, and a member of the First 
Baptist Church of Harrisonburg.

She was preceded in death by her father, Cammie C. Clawson; mother, Sophie (Trichel) Clawson; husband, 
Malcolm N. Brewer.

Survivors include two daughters: Ruby A. Brewer and Pamela Brewer Pitts, both of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; three 
step children: Melvin Brewer, McComb, Miss.; Ralph Brewer, Moody, Ala.; and Laverne McMillian of Metairie, 
La.; two sisters: Earline Cater, Harrisonburg; and Ann Acklen of Jena; and a host of nieces and nephews. 

Pallbearers were Clifton Jackson, Lamar Wyles, David Mitchell, Mike Tubre, Joe Holloway, Jerry Johnston, 
Chris Krahn, and Ken Terry.

Funeral services for Charlie Cecil Brown, 80, of Winnsboro, were held at Young's Community Memorial 
Funeral Home on Saturday, June 30, 2007 with Rev. Marion Collier officiating. Interment followed at 
Crowville Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro.

Mr. Brown was born March 1, 1927 in Rayville, La., and passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at Franklin 
Medical Center in Winnsboro. He was a resident of Winnsboro, retired from ANR Gas Company and Co-owner 
of Brown's Landing Restaurant. Mr. Brown served our country faithfully in the United States Marine Corps 
during World War II and Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Crowville Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, 
and a Shriner. He also was a charter member of the Louisiana Foxtrotters Association.

He was preceded in death by: father, Authur Lee Brown, mother, Nellie O. (Robertson) Brown; and brother, 
Herman Brown.

Survivors include: his wife, Rosie Earl Brown of Winnsboro; daughter, Sonja Girndt and husband Paul of 
Little Rock, Ark.; son, Keith Brown of Monroe, La.; sister, Robbie Brown of San Antonio, Texas; two 
grandsons: Cole Kirksey and Christopher Dollar.

Serving as pallbearers were Leon Barmore, Jim Cofer, Noble Ellington, Lyn Jones, Leon McIntyre, Harold 
Robinson, Gary Russell and Francis Thompson.

Honorary pallbearers were Billy Smith, Emmitt Sparks, Herman Harris, Jack Humphries, Paul Tarter and 
Elmer Lolley.

A memorial scholarship has been set up in memory of Mr. Cecil Brown at ULM to specifically assist a

Funeral services for James R. Calk, age 77, of Ft. Necessity, will be at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday), 
July 11, 2007 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Winnsboro with Rev. Bobby Ensminger officiating. 
Interment will follow in Turner Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro. 

Mr. Calk was preceded in death by his parents: Newt and Nora Owen Calk. He graduated from high school in 
Calhoun, La., and received his Bachelors Degree at Louisiana Tech and also his Master's + 30 at 
Mississippi College. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force in which he was a member of the 
basketball team. He was also a retired farmer, teacher, assistant principal and girls basketball coach at 
Ft. Necessity High School for many years. 

Survivors include the mother of his children: Pauline T. Braddock of Columbia; three daughters: 
Paula Estay and husband Joe of Clinton, La., Sheryl Smith and husband Danny of Ft. Necessity, Mary Nicklas 
and husband Mike of West Monroe; two granddaughters: Betsey Smith Holloway and husband Everett, and 
Abby Smith; one brother: Gene Calk and wife Zita of Winnsboro; several nieces and nephews; friends and 
devoted caregivers: Betty Rolen and Doris Sebold. 

Pallbearers will be Mike Bryan, Paul Wade Turner, Bryon Turner, Mike Calk, Tim Calk, Jerry McCain and 
Greg Kincaid. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tommy Ross, Kevin Johnston, Eugene Rushing, and Leo Thornhill. 

Members of V.F.W. Post 3155 will conduct a Flag Presentation Ceremony.

Funeral services for Kenneth Caston, 55, of Dallas will be held today (Wednesday) July 18, 2007 at 11 a.m.

Mr. Caston died Friday, July 13, 2007 in Dallas.

Mrs. Dickson died Monday, July 16, 2007 at St. Francis Medical Center-North in Monroe.

Mr. Doyle died Monday, July 9, 2007 following a boating accident.

Mr. Fortenberry was born September 13, 1937 in Winnsboro, and passed away Sunday, July 22, 2007 at his 
residence in Winnsboro. He was a farmer and served in the Air Force. 

He was preceded in death by his father, J. T. Fortenberry; mother, Myrtle Marie (Ashley) Fortenberry. 

Survivors include his wife, Beckie (Crawford) Fortenberry of Winnsboro; daughter, LaMona Ann (Fortenberry) 
Bertolino and husband Richard of Pollock, La.; son, Daryl Shawn Fortenberry and wife Joi of Baskin; six 
grandchildren: Amanda LeeAnn Ponds of Pollock; PFC Colby Fortenberry of Baskin; Emily Ellen Fortenberry of 
Baskin; Ethan Charles Bertolino of Pollock; Jacob Paul Fortenberry of Baskin; Katy Aleece Fortenberry of 
Baskin; great-grandson, Payton Bree Ann Hukill of Pollock; brother, Bobby Ray Fortenberry of West Monroe;

A memorial service for Jeanette Iverson Franks, 68, of Plano, Texas, will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, 
July 28, 2007 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Frisco, Texas, with Dr. Mark Forrest officiating. 

Mrs. Franks passed away Friday, July 20, 2007, in Plano. She was born on July 9, 1939, in Winnsboro, 
Louisiana, to Robert Iverson and Mae Fowler. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and friends. 
She was a legal assistant with the federal government. 

She is survived by her sons, Dewayne Cox and his wife Ann of Ft. Worth and Kevin Cox and his wife 
Jennifer; daughter, Kelly Ward of Allen, Texas; grandchildren, Peyton, Presley, Garrett, Spencer, 
Chloe; and four step-grandchildren. 

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Funeral services for Jessie M. Griffin, 76, of Crowville, were held July 1 at 2 p.m. at 
the Philadelphia Church Cemetery in Crowville.

Services were conducted under the direction of Richardson Funeral Home.

Ms. Griffin, a homemaker, died June 25 at Charlyn Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.

Survivors include three sons, Orea Griffin of Crowville, Robert Earl Griffin of Winnsboro and 
Willie Lee Griffin of Indianapolis, Ind.; one brother, Earl Jackson of Crowville; two sisters, 
Minnie Pearl Green of Winnsboro and Lutavia Burks of Los Angeles; 20 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren 
and one great-great-grandchild.

Graveside services for Lucas Alden Hatfield, infant son of Rana Hatfield Wollerson were held at Wayside

He was preceded in death by: twin sisters: Harley Elizabeth and Ray-Lyn Alexandra Wollerson; and uncle, 
John Wayne Potter.

Survivors include his mother, Rana Hatfield Wollerson of Winnsboro; brother, Holland Micah Wollerson; 
sister, Jenna Mae Wollerson; maternal grandmother, Sandra Warbington of Winnsboro; maternal grandfather, 
Steve Hatfield of Garden City, Ga.; maternal great grandparents, W. A. and Ethel Potter of Winnsboro; 
and Paul and Ruth Hatfield of Winnsboro.

Funeral services for Marie W. Hutson, 64, of Newellton, were Monday July 2, in Gill's Funeral 
Home Chapel at 2 p.m. with Rev. David McKeithen officiating. 

Burial followed at Legion Memorial Cemetery in Newellton under the direction of Gill First National 
Funeral Home in Winnsboro.

Mrs. Hutson was born to the union of her parents Fred "Buddy" and Ella Mae Reeves Wright on 
August 24, 1942, in St. Joseph and passed from this life June 29 at her residence. 

She managed truck stops and cafes in Tallulah for many years. She is preceded in death by her parents; 
her husband William Doyle Hutson Sr.; brother Gilbert Dewitt Wright; and sister Barbara V. Webster. 

Mrs. Hutson is survived by three brothers, Fred Harry Wright Jr. of Lake Village, Ark., Stanley 
Eugene Wright of St. Joseph and Joshua Lyle Wright of St. Louis, Mo.; seven sisters, Carolyn Ann 
Arnold of Dubach, Kathleen Hemphill of Newellton, Eileen King of Pioneer, Deborah Batson of Cairo, 
Egypt, Artie Irene Rebscher of Gorton, Conn., Juanita "Pete" Mizell of Newellton, and Laicey Woolford 
of Scott City, Mo.; a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives 
and friends.

Mrs. Lenard was born Dec. 31, 1928 in Good Pine, La., and passed away Saturday, July 14, 2007 at Franklin 
Medical Center in Winnsboro. She was a resident of Winnsboro, a homemaker, and a member of the Baptist 
Faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lenard; father, Mick C. Gilmore, mother, Lois (Rutledge) 
Gilmore; and half sister, Bernice Hayden.

Survivors include her son, Lavelle Lenard of Winnsboro; sister, Obeline Freeman of Winnsboro; and a host 
of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Phillip Freeman, Luke Cotten, Lanny Cotten, Mark Johnston, Quincy Freeman, and Stephen

Medical Center in Winnsboro. She was a resident of Winnsboro, a homemaker and co-owner of Liles store in 
Franklin Parish, and a member of the Magnolia Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, D. Q. Liles, father, Jessie Lefate Lishman, mother, Annie 
(Chambers) Lishman; son, Bobby Gene Liles, three brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include several nieces, nephews, cousins, and church friends.

Pallbearers were A. C. Liles, Aaron Scott, James Shirley, Doug Clark, Bernard Wolleson, and Dewayne Day.

Charna Cooper Martin
 
Funeral service for Charna Cooper Martin, age 44, of Winnsboro were held Thursday, 
June 28, 2007, in the chapel of Gill First National Funeral Home in Winnsboro with 
Rev. Paul Perry officiating. Interment followed at South Central Cemetery in Wisner. 

She was born to Charna C. and Joann Womack Cooper on Jan. 12, 1963 and passed from this 
life Monday, June 25, 2007 at her residence in Winnsboro. 

Mrs. Martin worked at Smith furniture for many years. She loved doing crafts, especially making 
quilts. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother: Ralph Cooper 

She is survived by her husband: Robert Martin; four daughters: Barbara Martin of West Monroe; 
Samantha Lynn Martin of Crowville; Rachel Joann Martin and Sara Sheree Martin of Winnsboro; 
one brother: Randy Wygal and his wife Debbie; sister-in-law: Sherry Cooper of Crowville; three 
grandchildren: Jessica Hollis, Michelle Hollis, and Coop Martin; adopted parents: Ollie Faye Barnes 
and Dennis Barnes; one adopted sister: Tina McCurley; several nieces and nephews. 

The family would like to send out a special thanks to Hospice TLC of Winnsboro for their wonderful 
care and support. 

Pallbearers were Josh Legros, Willard Martin, Mickel Till, Nathan Winborne, Christopher Wygal, 
and Scott Wygal.

Funeral services for J.B. Martin, 97, of Winnsboro, were held June 30, 2007 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in 
Winnsboro with the Rev. Herman Harris Sr. officiating.

Burial followed at Oakley Cemetery under the direction of Richardson and Sims Funeral Home, Winnsboro.

Mr. Martin passed away at Plantation Oaks in Wisner.

He is survived by four daughters: Priscilla Shaw, Dora Martin, Bessie Martin and Janie Shaw; three sons: 
Fred Martin, Winnsboro; Melvin Martin and J.W. Martin, both of Chicago; two sisters: Cleo Martin, 
Winnsboro; Fannie Tyson, San Francisco; 56 grandchildren; 100 great-grandchildren; 
86 great-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-great-grandchildren.

Ella S. McDonald

Funeral services for Ella S. McDonald, 81, of West Monroe, formerly of Harrisonburg, will be held at South 
Central Baptist Church on Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Bill Cotton officiating. Interment 
will follow at Harrisonburg Cemetery under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home in 
Winnsboro.

Mrs. McDonald was born May 29, 1926 in Harrisonburg, and passed away Saturday, July 21, 2007 at Glenwood 
Regional Medical Center, West Monroe. She was a resident of West Monroe, and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John D. McDonald; father, John T. Spillmon; mother, Lula 
(Bridges) Spillmon; three brothers: J. W. Spillmon, Billy Spillmon, and Eugene Spillmon.

Survivors include three daughter: Molly Wilson of Lumberton, Miss.; Toni McDonald Grundstrom of Magnolia, 
Ark.; and Theresa McDonald Winters of Batesville, Miss.; brother, Pete Spillman of Wisner; a host of 
nieces and nephews; nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. 

Pallbearers will be Edward Spillmon, Josh Wilson, Steve Adams, Shane Osborn, Spud Grundstrom, and Albert 
Spillmon.

Honorary pallbearers will be John Wilson, Chris Wilson, Randy Wilson, Daniel Wilson, Steve Wilson, 
Stevie Spillmon, Alf Summerall, John Spillmon, Alvin Spillmon, and Ronald Spillmon.

The family will receive friends at South Central Baptist Church from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, 
July 25, 2007.

Jeff T. Mulkey Jr.

Funeral services for Jeff T. Mulkey Jr., U.S. Army, Ret., 80, of Killeen, Texas were held Tuesday, July 17,
2007 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home.

Mr. Mulkey died Friday, July 13, 2007 in Killeen, Texas. He was formerly of Wisner and was preceded in 
death by his parents: Truly and Rachel Mulkey; sisters: Clara Bell Martin and Annie Pearl Burch; brothers: 
Floyd and Huey Mulkey.

Mr. Mulkey is survived by his wife, Francis Mulkey, Killeen; son, David Mulkey, Frisco, Texas; daughters: 
Patricia Mulkey, Colorado Spring, Colo.; Deborah Ebbecke, San Antonio, Texas; one grandson; three 
great-grandchildren; sisters: Mary Smith, Clinton, La.; Dorothy Simmons, Newton, Texas; brothers: 
Herbert Mulkey, St. Francisville, La.; Ellis Mulkey, Vicksburg, Miss.; Bill Mulkey, Winnsboro; and 
John Mulkey, Andrews, Texas.

Justin L. Shaw
 
Funeral services for Justin L. Shaw, 14, of Winnsboro, were held at 1 p.m. June 30 at King Jesus 
Worship Center in Winnsboro.

Interman was in Stale Place in Gilbert under the direction of Richardson Funeral Home.

Shaw, a student, died June 23 following a brief illness. 

He is survived by his mother, Lori Johnson of Winnsboro; step-father Calvin Johnson of Winnsboro; and 
father Dennis Molique of Columbia; sister Damon Johnson of Winnsboro, brothers Deonis Shaw and 
Augusta Shaw, both of Winnsboro; grandmother Eddie M. Shaw of Winnsboro; and grandfather Clint Black of 
Winnsboro.

Serving as pallbearers were Augusta Shaw, Labrandon Johnson, Quincy Shaw, Dennis Shaw, Michael Boley 
and Varion T. Owens.

Lance "Shorty" Tarver, Sr.
 
Funeral services for Lance "Shorty" Tarver Sr., 67, of Winnsboro, were held at Young's Community Memorial 
Funeral Home on Sunday, July 1, 2007 with Rev. Floyd Hawthorne officiating. Interment followed at Ogden 
Cemetery under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro.

Mr. Tarver was born Nov. 12, 1939 in Winnsboro, and passed away Thursday, June 28, 2007 at Cornerstone 
Hospital West Monroe. He was a resident of Winnsboro and a cattle buyer.

He was preceded in death by: his father, Raleigh "Talley" Tarver, mother, Reba Earnestine (Wallace) 
Tarver; son, Lance Tarver, Jr.

Survivors include: three daughters: Theresa Daughdrill of Arlington, Texas; Amber Fuller of Mangham;
Danielle Wells of Winnsboro; son, Michael Fuller of Liddieville; three brothers: Alvin Tarver of Crowville; 
Glenn Tarver of Winnsboro; Robert Tarver of Crowville; sister, Earlene "Molly" Winters Williams of Winnsboro; 
four grandchildren: Jeremy Bankson, Madison Fuller, Cody Wells, and Jennifer Scott.

Pallbearers were Michael Fuller, Terry Wright, Dewayne Winters, Pete Welch, Don Winters, and Buddy Parks. 
Honorary pallbearer was Garvin Wright.

Eva Whittley
 
Funeral services for Eva Whittley, 87, of Beaumont, Texas, were held at 1 p.m. 
June 29 at New Macedonia Baptist Church. 

Interment was in Sacred Hearts Cemetery in Beaumont under the direction of Richardson 
Funeral Home.

Mrs. Whittley, a farmer, died June 24 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont 
following a lengthy illness.

Survivors include three daughters, Katie Washington of Las Vegas, Barbara Gillis and Stephanie Brown, 
both of Beaumont; and siblings Donald Whittley of Winnsboro, Ricky Brown of Beaumont and Willie Brown 
of Deridder' 32 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers were Tony Whittley, Kendrick Brown, Tim Washington, Shurtrell Brown, 
Dominic Brown and Patrick Washington.

Charlie Seth Willhite

Funeral services for Charlie Seth Willhite, 74, of Columbia, were held Saturday, July 21, 2007 at Young's 
Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro. Brother Franklin Pearce officiated and interment followed 
at 
Fort Necessity Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Willhite was born June 9, 1933 in West Monroe, and passed away suddenly Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at 
his home in Columbia. 

Mr. Willhite was most recently retired from construction work with his son, but worked in many occupations 
during his lifetime including farming (his favorite), off-shore derrick hand, custom grain harvesting, and 
heavy equipment operator. He owned rental property in Columbia and rebuilt tractors in his shop near his 
home.

Charlie moved with his family of twelve brothers and sisters to the banks of the Tensas River near Flowers 
Landing in the late 1930's. It was there that he grew up and married his wife, Mary Evelyn Matthews, and 
raised his four children. He was a member of Flowers Landing Baptist Church. He moved his family to 
Columbia in the 1980s to farm with the late John J. McKeithen. He is best known for his great love of the 
outdoors and his ever present positive outlook on life. 

Mr. Willhite is preceded in death by his parents: James Martin Willhite and Etta Mae Hart Willhite; two 
sisters- Carrie Mae Dejura and Juanita White; and brothers: Derwood Willhite, George "Tut" Willhite, 
James "Jimmy" Willhite, and Oliver Willhite.

Mr. Willhite is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Evelyn Matthews Willhite; one son-Kenneth Willhite 
of Grayson; three daughters: Rosemary Willhite Ford and Sandy Willhite Carroll both of West Monroe, and 
Gail Willhite Lemoine of Monroe; 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and 
nephews. He is also survived by three brothers- O.D. Willhite of Gonzales, John A. Willhite of Tallulah, 
and Glen Willhite of Alto, Texas; and two sisters- Emma Lou Willhite Dowdy of Ruston, and Janet Willhite 
Ward of Las Vegas, Nev.

Pallbearers were Shane Thorton, Tracy Lowry, and Brad Meredith, Michael Czudek, Joel Ruark, Vaughn 
Knippers, and Gary Alexander; Charlie Wilbanks and Bobby Wilbanks.

Honorary Pallbearers were Bill Tate and Charles Yates.
