Mary Barlow Denham Burns
Memorial services for Mary Barlow Denham Burns, 88 of Wisner, 
will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 5 in the First Baptist Church 
of Wisner, with the Rev. James Lamkin officiating.
Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Mansfield Thursday afternoon
under the direction of First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro.
Mrs. Burns died July 2 in Franklin Parish Hospital following a brief 
illness.
She was born August 7, 1895 on Kenner Plantation near New 
Orleans to Albert Loudon Denham and Annie Mary Barlow Denham. 
She was a graduate of Morgan City High School and Louisiana State 
University, and taught home economics at Logansport High.
She married Ellis Leon Burns April 12, 1917. The family moved to  
Ruston in 1946, where Mrs. Burns was active in Temple Baptist Church.
She conducted the Good News Bible Class for the underprivileged in
her home and taught Sunday School for many years. She was also a 
volunteer English tutor for foreign students and their families at
Louisiana Tech University.
Mrs. Burns also was employed as an LPN at the Ruston Tuberculosis
Hospital and the Children's Home.
She moved to Wisner in 1975, where she has been active in the First
Baptist Church. She was a resident of the Mary Anna Nursing Home 
in Wisner.
Survivors include six daughters, Margaret Harlan of Oklahoma City, 
Okla., Ruth Oates of Duson, Helen Griffin of Clarksville, Tenn., Dorothy
Young of Wisner, Louise Murphy of Arcadia and Alice McAdams of
Clinton, Miss.; five sons, Leon Burns and Lloyd Burns, both of 
Shreveport, Bryan Burns of Greenville, Texas, John Burns of Houston, 
and David Burns of Tampa. Fla.; 28 grandchildren; and 24 great-
grandchildren.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Wisner.

Cynthia A. Eubanks
 
Funeral services for Cynthia A. Eubanks, 87, of Winnsboro,
were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 10, in the Chapel of
Winnsboro First National Funeral Home.
Interment was in Ogden Cemetery with the Rev. Bobby Brown
officiating. A native of Mangham, she was born Dec. 27, 1896.
She died on July 9, 1984, following a lengthy illness.
Survivors include one son, Lynn E. Eubanks, Winnsboro and
one granddaughter, DeLynn Eubanks, Winnsboro.
Pallbearers were Earl Albritton, Bunnie McMurray, Ronnie
Rhymes, Billy Duplissey, Roddie Renfrow and Wayne Stroud.

Lenuel Jackson LaBorde
Funeral services for Lenuel Jackson LaBorde, 68, were held June 27,
1984 at 10 a.m. in the chapel of the Winnsboro First National Funeral 
Home with the Rev. C. D. Board, the Rev. Johnnie Notherland and the
Kelly Clark officiating. He was buried in Harris Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Martha Marie LaBorde; two sons, 
Donnie Laborde of Cudaby, Wisc. and Charlie Laborde of West Monroe;
three daughters, Mrs. Charles Day of Panola, Tex., Mrs. Shelby Day 
of Bossier City, and Mrs. Robert Nielsen of Delhi; 17 grandchildren; 
two great-grandchildren; three brothers, J. E. LaBorde of Winnsboro,
J. C. LaBorde of Winnsboro and Clyde LaBorde of Alma, Ark.; three
sisters, Mrs. Zelma Flowers, Mrs. Mollie Welch, and Mrs. Edna 
Strickland of Winnsboro.
Pallbearers were W. L. Robbins, Royce Byran, J. W. Clark, John Scott,
Jerry Sutherlin and Ronnie Smith.

John Wright McMurray
Funeral services for John Wright McMurray, 65, of Winnsboro, 
were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, June 21, 1984, in the Chapel of 
Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro.
Interment was in Ogden Cemetery with the Rev. Bruce Hardin 
(sic Cardin) officiating.
He was a retired farmer and a Baptist. He died on June 19,1984, 
following a brief illness.
Survivors include one sister, Ethel Horne of Winnsboro; one nephew,
and three nieces.
Pallbearers were James Paul Smith, Sr., Larry Don Brown, Bobby
Wood, Bill McGraw, Maxwell Wallace, Milburn McMurray.

Charles Thomas Morgan
Funeral services for Charles Thomas Morgan, 41, of Monroe were 
held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, in the First Baptist Church of Wisner.
Interment was in Providence Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. James
Lamkin officiating. Burial was under the direction of Mulhearn
Funeral Home of Winnsboro.
A native of Wisner, he was a professor of marketing and a veteran.
He died on Sunday, July 1, after a brief illness.
Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline White Morgan of Monroe; one 
daughter, Rose Marie Morgan of Monroe; his mother, Mrs. S. A. 
Morgan of Wisner; six brothers, Glen A. Morgan, Monroe, Bruce
Wayne Morgan, Jackson, Miss., Jerry Morgan, Walker, John Phillip
Morgan, Gonzales, Edward Morgan and Robert Morgan, both of 
Baton Rouge; two sisters, Peggie McManus of Winnsboro and Bettye
Talbert of Baton Rouge.

Frankie Louise Smith
Funeral services for Frankie Louise Smith, 59, of Winnsboro were 
held June 28, 1984 at 4:30 p.m. in the Winnsboro First National 
Funeral Home chapel. Burial followed in the Providence Memorial 
Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith died June 26 after a lengthy illness.
She is survived by her husband, A. E. Smith of Winnsboro; three 
sons, A. E. Smith, Jr., of Ruston, Thomas C. Smith of Winnsboro 
and John M. Smith of Shreveport; three daughters, Sharon Castleton 
of Calhoun, Kathleen Griffing of Winnsboro, and Linda Dudley of 
West Monroe; 10 grandchildren; three brothers, Edward Hendry of 
Bastrop, Austin Hendry of Poplarville, Miss., Mack Pailette of 
Winnsboro; and two sisters, Lannie Lively of Winnsboro and 
Roberta Henry (sic Hendry) of Monroe.

Mrs. Bessie Belle Wallace
Funeral servics for Mrs. Bessie Belle Wallace, 94, of Wisner, were
held at Holly Grove Baptist Church, Monday, July 2, with the Rev. 
Roy Moore and the Rev. W. H. "Bill' Graham officiating.
Interment was in South Central Cemetery, under the direction of 
Winnsboro First National Funeral Home.
A native of Brookhaven, Miss., she was born Feb. 2, 1890. She 
was a housewife. She died on June 29, 1984, following a brief 
illness.
Survivors include one son, William Perry Wallace, Gainesville, 
Texas; one daughter, Audrey May Lewis, Bosque Farms, New
Mexico; 14 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Robert 'R. J.' Jean Williams Jr.
Services for Robert "R. J." Jean Williams, Jr. were held June 28,
1984 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Winnsboro First National Funeral
Home with the Rev. Jessie Booth, the Rev. Manuel Wollerson and
the Rev. Clyde Grayson officiating. He was buried in Harris Cemetery.
Williams, a retired farmer and World War II veteran died June 25.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Aline Williams of Winnsboro; four 
sons, David Williams of Winnsboro, Jerry "Bo" Williams of Shreveport,
Mike Williams of Winnsboro and Johnnie "Peanut" Williams of 
Shreveport; six daughters, Wanda Neal of Monroe, Shirley Shows of
Phoenix, Ariz., Pat Morgan of Georgetown, Tina Wollerson of 
Winnsboro, Sue Diel of Chandler, Ariz., and Alice Rushing of Winnsboro; 
23 grandchildren; three brothers, Johnnie Williams of New Ellington, 
S. C., James Williams of Pineville and Cecil Williams of Columbia; 
two sisters, Bobby Reeves of Columbia and Gladys Eubanks of 
Longview, Texas.
Pallbearers were Ray Dunn, Loyd Dunn, Lonnie Davis, Billy Muny, 
Jimmie Murry and Isac Carington.
