Roy Edwards of Kane Dies In Hospital     Roy Francis Edwards of 
Route One, Kane died at on twenty-five o'clock Friday morning at 
the St. Louis County Hospital where he had been a patient for 
four weeks.     Funeral services were held at two o'clock Sunday
afternoon at Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home with Carlton Christenson 
officiation.  Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery.     

Mr. Edwards, a son of the late Patrick Lee and Laura Wiseman Edwards, 
was born in Greenburg, Kansas, and his age at the time of death was 
fifty-five years, seven months, and ten days.  His survivors are 
four daughters, Mrs. Daniel Carrico and Kimberly Edwards of Kane, 
Mrs. John Webb and Mrs. Gary Cooper of Jerseyville; one son Monte 
D. Edwards of Jerseyville, Route four; six grandchildren; two brothers, 
John R. Edwards of Athensville and Archie L. Edwards of Chaplin, 
and two sisters, Mrs. Marie VanVoorhis of Uncle Colorado, and Mrs. 
Margaret Parrott of Glencoe, Missouri.  His wife, Pearl Edwards, 
died June 28, 1964.  Mr. Edwards was a member of Local 377 
Carpenter's Union.
